  I found Charity fairly late in my pregnancy for the hospital birth of my third child. I am in Burien, WA and Charity is in Lakewood,WA- I was concerned about the distance but was assured by Charity that it would be ok. I went into labor at 8pm 12/14/22 and let Charity know my contractions were 10 mins apart. At 10:40pm they were grouped to 6 mins for a while so I went to hospital at 11pm and was communicating back/forth with Charity via text. My daughter was born at 12:50am and Charity walked in after she was born and in my arms. I never was coached in the pushing positions (like I had requested from the start) that I needed to be in so my rectocele prolapse wasn’t aggravated- this never happened and now I’m left with a very serious prolapse that is negatively impacting my daily life. I felt cheated out of support, knowledge and financially ($850) at a most vulnerable time in my life.
  From the start I didn’t feel like Charity was able to give me the time and attention I needed as a pregnant woman due to her busy life and schedule as a mom.I asked that Charity might donate her services to a low income mother in the future when she is able since she did not make it to my birth, and didn’t offer any partial refund after I requested one. She did not respond to that communication. I can’t recommend Charity as a doula as my previous experience with a doula was much better, my first doula was much more professional and made me feel like a priority and secure in my birth.

I recently moved to Seattle from my hometown of Maple Valley, Washington! Ever since I was young I've been a big feeler of feelings, and have found myself throughout my life gravitating toward support roles for loved ones. Doula work found me through an Instagram post about physiologic home birth supported by a close, intimate birth team. I was immediately enamored not only by the consistency of doula-adjacent roles throughout history, but also by the information and calmness that birth doulas provide today. I finished my formal training in July of 2023, and am thrilled to be serving the Pacific Northwest.

Everybody, with zero exceptions, deserves to have someone on their side who is going to remain on their side no matter their financial situation, age, race, identity, or birth plan. I do not charge for services provided to those that are under the age of 18, unhoused, or under financial restrictions.

  Alex is an amazing team member and has such a great spirit. I met Alex through out DONA workshop and made sure I kept her contact close because I adore her. Alex is very passionate about their work and creates very informative evidence based content on her platforms I love to share with my community.   Wow! I honestly believe I would not have been able to have a Vbac without Amina! She EMPOWERED me. I took a birthing class with her, and then I requested her as a Doula! She did NOT disappoint. She was encouraging, calm, reliable, informative- and during my labor, she helped call me down and guide me the entire time. She was right by my side bringing me sips of water and snacks. My husband and I credit her completely. During my labor, my husband forgot everything we practiced, haha. But Amina saved the day. She’s one of my favorite people in the world. She’s wise, non judgmental, just absolutely wonderful. I am so grateful. She was reliable to show up and not wait till the last minute to come to me during my labor.   Kay was my birth doula for my second child after a very traumatic first birth. She helped guide and ground me throughout labor and even came twice after birth to check on me and bring me meals and helped clean around our home so we didn’t have to worry about it

  Rose Smith has been my doula for both my births. I first came to meet her through her exceptional childbirth educational course, and due to her passion, genuine care, and knowledge I immediately retained her as our doula not fully understanding how her involvement would help me through childbirth. On the big day she was accessible, supportive, and helpful in guiding us on next steps. At one point in the the midst of my labor she could sense my fear and confusion, without missing a beat she guided me to refocus, showed me how to reclaim my calm, and encouraged me that I could do this. It was that level of care that made it so simple to have her with me at my second birth. There she was again with the same level of care and support for our family again. If you are looking for someone who cares, is knowledgeable, and will support you then Rose Smith is a wonderful choice on one if the biggest days of your life.

  McKenna was definitely God sent for us. During our first interview with her when we worried about the lack of support and receiving this from someone we do not know, McKenna was reassuring; her steady, thoughtful approach to how she can help us convinced us of her service.
  Days leading up to my due date, she followed up everyday on any symptoms and discomfort I may have, often providing encouragement and home remedies.
  After days of false labor, on the day I was actually in labor but yet doubtful, McKenna drove home immediately without a moments hesitation to help us fully aware this could turn to be another false labor day.From back rubs to ensuring I stay hydrated, to helping me through nausea and tracking contractions she was with us every step and brought in her understanding of what’s going on and coping mechanisms.   Jessica was our birth doula, and she also helped us with our newborn baby postpartum. We feel very lucky to have had her with us on this journey. From the first interviews and in person prenatal visits, to her supporting us in the hosipital as well as in our home, we have always felt we could trust her and lean on her experience. We had an induction on our due date and were planning to use epidural as pain management in late labor. It was a real scare when epidural wasn’t really working for me for at least a couple of hours (which in labor time felt like forever). Jessica’s presence really calmed us down, and with her help I was able to navigate the pain and panic until medication finally kicked in. Our birth experience was less stressful with her being there, and we also appreciated her staying a while after our baby was born to make sure we were comfortable and got everything we needed.

  We also had Jessica as a postpartum doula for a few weeks, and she was so good with our baby girl and made it possible for me to go out and grab a coffee and have some selfcare time every now and then. Our daughter loves the reading, walks, and playtime they had together. AND, she gives great massages! We are so glad we found Jessica and we are thankful for all the help and support she gave us.

  Hilary was an amazing source of knowledge and support for my husband and I. We hired Hilary to support us through the birth of our first child. I was initially hesitant about hiring a doula because it looked like I’d need a C-section. After getting the all clear for a vaginal delivery, we decided a doula would be a good option for us. As it turns out, I needed an emergency C-section. My birth ended up being so far removed from the birth plan I’d written, but the one constant was Hilary. Having her there with us allowed us to focus on the birth of our child and not how it was happening. She kept both of us calm and explained what was happening when the medical staff couldn’t. She definitely proved me wrong about needing a doula for a C-section! She continued to support us after birth with additional visits, frequent check-ins, and additional support. We’re so grateful we had Hilary as we entered this next chapter of our lives.

In the 12 years I have been a birth worker, my doula bag has become quite small. I have learned through experience, the families I have supported and the providers I have been a team player with, that there are only a few items really needed to support your birth preferences. Knowledge in the physiology of hormones, movement, space, emotions and breath. Experience in medical interventions and helping you to have productive conversations with your providers when they are needed, skill in comfort measures and massage (my hands are so strong:), and authentic words of encouragement, praise, and affirmation. I am best fit for a person who is wanting no or low interventions (in or out of the hospital): a VBAC or a free birth. My goal is to empower you and your labor partner so you can both be present in the event and have your best birth experience possible.

  From the moment we first spoke to Ryah we knew that she was the perfect fit as our Doula – she is incredibly warm, has such an extensive background, and food is one of her love languages! We had two prenatal appointments in which we discussed our birth preferences, learned stretches to do leading up to my due date, and practiced different techniques to try during early labor. She was also always available to reach via text or phone throughout my pregnancy.

  Ryah was the most crucial person in helping my husband and I bring our baby earth side. She guided me through each contraction and continuously helped me stay centered and find my breath. She made suggestions of positions to try based on where the baby was to keep things progressing. She made sure my husband played an integral part in the experience and conveyed our birth preferences to the nursing staff. I ended up having an unmedicated birth, and I know this was only possible because she was there with me.

  Once my baby was born, she helped him latch and stayed by my side to ensure that everything was okay. Since being home we’ve had a phone and in-person chat in which we processed my labor experience, and she made sure we were set up for the first few weeks postpartum. I am grateful that she is available throughout the 4th trimester! Aside from providing immeasurable support, she also took photos and video during labor which is the most special thing to look back on.

  Samantha is my first doula and helped with the pregnancy and birth of my first child. I was a bit skeptical and wondered how much I needed a doula, and it turns out I needed her quite a bit. She is the most loving and supportive outside force I could have asked for. She built me up as a woman and as a mother which was much needed as I am in a new city and far away from my support group.   Sage was my primary support while giving birth to my son. As a transman, the concept of giving birth in a traditional hospital setting was honestly kind of terrifying. Sage helped to keep me comfortable, keep labor going, and keep the staff from misgendering or dead naming me. I don’t plan to have any more kids, but if I do, I hope she’s there.

I've always had a passion for helping others, and my own complicated journey to parenthood sparked the fire to help others have the best possible experience in their own. Through my personal experiences with bereavement and infertility, I developed a special interest in helping people going through more uncommon circumstances. I am a birth and postpartum doula as well as a childbirth educator. I offer virtual care and in person care. As a birth doula, I offer: a complimentary interview, 1-2 prenatal appointments, birth attendance and immediate postpartum support, and 1-2 postpartum visits. My typical rate is a range of $1500-2000. For lower income families, I have a reduced fee of $1000. As a virtual birth doula, I offer: a complimentary interview, 1-2 prenatal virtual appointments, virtual support (texts, calls, video chat) during labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum hours (if needed), and 1-2 postpartum virtual calls. My fee for virtual doula support is $350. I also offer individualized childbirth education tailored specifically to your birth plan for $350 (complimentary for birth clients). As a postpartum doula, I provide care to families when needed at an hourly rate ranging from $40-60/hr with a 4hr shift minimum. I found myself unfulfilled in other fields of work because I was ignoring what I was called to do. I had a myriad of pregnancy issues, including loss, high risk medical complications, postpartum mood disorder, PTSD, and breastfeeding challenges. Like many families, we could not find the right resources, despite looking and asking for help. I don't want another person to fall through the cracks like I did. We all benefit from having compassionate, non-judgmental help in the process of starting or adding to our families, and it brings me immense satisfaction to be that person for others.

We rotate call and you will have either of at your birth. We are the mentor or ‘mom’ that you would like to have and support you.   Sarah was supportive & helpful leading up to, during, and after the birth. She made sure to check in and that we had the resources we needed. Not only did she look out for me, but she also made sure my husband was taken care of. Whenever we had questions or issues, she was there to answer or give us referrals or resources to help us find solutions.

I enjoy every piece of my work and love all of my doula babies and families from the bottom of my heart! It's not just a job, my clients more than clients. I help families that want to have a better birth experience. Better then their mom's/sister's/friend's experience or even their own. Since every birth is different, I spend the prenatal visits listening to your hopes, fears, wishes and needs. Then we work together to create a plan to help you have the birth you want. We even go over how to have a better birth when things don't go as planned. When your birth time comes, I will be there to support you and your partner and serve as a guide for both of you throughout all of births stages. One family I supported, wanted a doula more for the partner, then the mom. It was his first birth and her 4th. She knew what to expect but her partner needed support to understand what he was seeing was normal and to stay calm. By keeping him calm and informed, she was able to give all of her attention to the birth and he was able to relax and be fully present for the birth of their son. I attune to each family's needs and support them in the way that they want.

  I am so grateful that Keigha was my doula for my first birth. Leading up to the big day, she was so supportive and encouraging and helped me feel confident things would go well. Most of my labor took place at home and she was by my side throughout all of it; using her essential oils and calming presence to help me through the sensations as it became more intense. She was also an enormous help to my husband, who was reassured by her confidence and grounded demeanor. When it finally came time to push at the birth center, I had incredibly painful back labor in the tub and was not sure I could withstand the pain. Keigha’s intuitive words were honestly what refocused my mind and she knew just what to say to help me deliver my baby smoothly. We are so grateful to her for helping us have a successful water birth for our child, and for everything she has done to support our family.

I spent all of my twenties working as a nanny, with many of those years specializing in infant care. I feel excited about transforming my knowledge and experience into a resource to work with new parents. During lockdown I trained as a Certified Lactation Educator and with DONA International in order to move in the direction of full time doula work. Monthly Doula check-ins in your home or via zoom (clients choice). The last check-in before 37 weeks is spent prepping nutrient-dense meals & snacks for you to have ready during your postpartum period. (3 hours in the client's home) During your prenatal check-ins, we will discuss navigating nutrition and simple meal prepping, birth wishlist, labor positions & comfort measures, touch on your visits with your provider and go over any questions or concerns you may have. I pull from my extensive background in strength and nutrition coaching to guide you through the healthiest pregnancy possible and to help you troubleshoot nutrition & self-care challenges during the immediate postpartum period. In-home postpartum visit (4 hours) includes a nourishing home-cooked meal and support so you may shower and rest.   Courtney was wonderful as our doula. My husband and I were very nervous and had lots of questions. This is our first baby and we weren’t sure what to expect. Courtney was with us every step of the way and I’m so thankful we had her.

I approach my care from a holistic standpoint. I’m most adept in supporting women with home births and out of hospital birth centers and have had two home births myself. But, I wholeheartedly believe and will support a woman wherever she desires to birth and feels safest.   Brittney was such a Godsend for my natural birth experience. She ensured that I received the exact experience that I dreamed of. I went through pregnancy and birth with no fears. She was always there to answer any questions I had and provide encouraging support. She provided several techniques during labor and birth to help with pain that truly did help.   Alice was the perfect doula for me. She is a consummate professional: reliable, knowledgeable, warm, supportive, confident, all around great. She is your advocate, coach and teammate all at the same time. My birthing experience didn’t go as I expected, but Alice helped me navigate the twists and turns with encouragement and non-judgmental support. When I had to make tough decisions, her guidance gave me the confidence to know I was making the best choices for myself and my baby. My experience would have been exponentially more stressful for myself and my partner if she had not been there. I am so grateful she was part of my daughter’s birth.
