As your doula, I will be fully present with you through the entire experience. We will meet beforehand, to get to know each other, during our prenatal visit(s). At that time we will work through your birth (and breastfeeding) preferences (plan), and prepare to work as a team. I am happy to put together a postpartum plan with you too. I will be available through your pregnancy to help you be as comfortable and informed as possible through unlimited emails and/or phone calls/text. I will do this also, through sharing my knowledge of complementary care resources and local resource groups in the triangle.

The Process Of Placenta Encapsulation *Reserve your birth date (EDD) Our encapsulation specialists get booked fast. To reserve your EDD we require a $75 deposit at the time of booking. *Contact your encapsulation specialist as soon as possible after the baby is born, so we can begin processing your placenta within 48 hours or less. We will come to the home, hospital, or birthing center for pickup. *Once we receive your placenta, we begin processing it typically within 24hrs. Your capsules are then delivered to you within two days. We will contact you to ensure your encapsulation is prepared and delivered to meet your needs.

Combining Birthing From Within, Whole Body Pregnancy, & Pro-Doula methodologies; our birthing classes focus on assisting the parent(s) in recognizing the many ways in which we gather information and understanding. We will explore how learning reaches far beyond what is in our head, there is an innate knowing which is often called our intuition. We work with birth from the birther, partner, infant, and cultural perspective exploring tools that parents already have but may not recognize within themselves. The topics include a look into labor support, working through unexpected circumstances, bodywork and nutrition in pregnancy, decision-making when you don’t know what to do, pain coping, storytelling, and much more.
