  I found Charity fairly late in my pregnancy for the hospital birth of my third child. I am in Burien, WA and Charity is in Lakewood,WA- I was concerned about the distance but was assured by Charity that it would be ok. I went into labor at 8pm 12/14/22 and let Charity know my contractions were 10 mins apart. At 10:40pm they were grouped to 6 mins for a while so I went to hospital at 11pm and was communicating back/forth with Charity via text. My daughter was born at 12:50am and Charity walked in after she was born and in my arms. I never was coached in the pushing positions (like I had requested from the start) that I needed to be in so my rectocele prolapse wasn’t aggravated- this never happened and now I’m left with a very serious prolapse that is negatively impacting my daily life. I felt cheated out of support, knowledge and financially ($850) at a most vulnerable time in my life.
  From the start I didn’t feel like Charity was able to give me the time and attention I needed as a pregnant woman due to her busy life and schedule as a mom.I asked that Charity might donate her services to a low income mother in the future when she is able since she did not make it to my birth, and didn’t offer any partial refund after I requested one. She did not respond to that communication. I can’t recommend Charity as a doula as my previous experience with a doula was much better, my first doula was much more professional and made me feel like a priority and secure in my birth.

  I hired Dasha for my first pregnancy because I knew I wanted a natural birth in the hospital but didn’t know how to accomplish it. We completed childbirth education with her as well and felt so prepared! Even though things didn’t turn out exactly as expected Dasha helped us every step of the way and we felt so supported by her. She is incredibly smart, kind, personable, and will advocate for you and your baby! We love Dasha!!

I became a birth doula because I saw a need for women and families to have a third-party non-medical support person with them during labor and delivery. Someone who will talk to them instead of at them or around them. Someone who will be a sounding board, source of information or even just emotional support. Too many people leave their birth experience feeling like it was something that happened to them instead of this amazing thing they accomplished. My goal is to help you prepare for and navigate your birth in a way that leaves you feeling like you had the ability to make informed choices allowing you to do have the best birth possible for you, even if that looks different than what you expected in the end.

  Amanda was an incredible asset to our birth team. She was supportive to both me and my husband, communicated well with our hospital staff, was knowledgeable, and quick to respond to questions throughout the pregnancy, and met us promptly at the hospital when I went into labor. Her tools and coaching helped me get through my first birth unmedicated, and I honestly don’t think that we could’ve done it without her. On top of her excellent Doula skills, she is truly a delight to be around, as we always felt comfortable being open with her, and she with us. We even laughed and joked around together. I would highly recommend working with her.

  I had the pleasure of having Aspen as my doula for the birth of our son. She was a kind, calming presence in the room and provided a safe space to express all the emotions that come with the labor and delivery process. I have moderate mobility difficulties and she provided excellent physical support when I needed to reposition and move around. She brought a fan to cool me down and reminded me to eat my snacks and drink water as needed to keep up my strength for my long labor. (As instructed by my medical care team) She encouraged me when I needed it but was not overwhelming. She has thorough intake paperwork to get to know who you are, what you’re looking for and how to best support you as an individual. I felt that she delivered exactly the kind of support that I needed. Overall excellent experience, I highly recommend her!

I recently moved to Seattle from my hometown of Maple Valley, Washington! Ever since I was young I've been a big feeler of feelings, and have found myself throughout my life gravitating toward support roles for loved ones. Doula work found me through an Instagram post about physiologic home birth supported by a close, intimate birth team. I was immediately enamored not only by the consistency of doula-adjacent roles throughout history, but also by the information and calmness that birth doulas provide today. I finished my formal training in July of 2023, and am thrilled to be serving the Pacific Northwest.

  Alex is an amazing team member and has such a great spirit. I met Alex through out DONA workshop and made sure I kept her contact close because I adore her.   Wow! I honestly believe I would not have been able to have a Vbac without Amina! She EMPOWERED me. I took a birthing class with her, and then I requested her as a Doula! She did NOT disappoint. She was encouraging, calm, reliable, informative- and during my labor, she helped call me down and guide me the entire time. She was right by my side bringing me sips of water and snacks. My husband and I credit her completely. During my labor, my husband forgot everything we practiced, haha. But Amina saved the day. She’s one of my favorite people in the world. She’s wise, non judgmental, just absolutely wonderful. I am so grateful. She was reliable to show up and not wait till the last minute to come to me during my labor.   Jessica was our birth doula, and she also helped us with our newborn baby postpartum. We feel very lucky to have had her with us on this journey. From the first interviews and in person prenatal visits, to her supporting us in the hosipital as well as in our home, we have always felt we could trust her and lean on her experience. We had an induction on our due date and were planning to use epidural as pain management in late labor. It was a real scare when epidural wasn’t really working for me for at least a couple of hours (which in labor time felt like forever). Jessica’s presence really calmed us down, and with her help I was able to navigate the pain and panic until medication finally kicked in. Our birth experience was less stressful with her being there, and we also appreciated her staying a while after our baby was born to make sure we were comfortable and got everything we needed.

  We also had Jessica as a postpartum doula for a few weeks, and she was so good with our baby girl and made it possible for me to go out and grab a coffee and have some selfcare time every now and then. Our daughter loves the reading, walks, and playtime they had together. AND, she gives great massages! We are so glad we found Jessica and we are thankful for all the help and support she gave us.

  Hilary was an amazing source of knowledge and support for my husband and I. We hired Hilary to support us through the birth of our first child. I was initially hesitant about hiring a doula because it looked like I’d need a C-section. After getting the all clear for a vaginal delivery, we decided a doula would be a good option for us. As it turns out, I needed an emergency C-section. My birth ended up being so far removed from the birth plan I’d written, but the one constant was Hilary. Having her there with us allowed us to focus on the birth of our child and not how it was happening. She kept both of us calm and explained what was happening when the medical staff couldn’t. She definitely proved me wrong about needing a doula for a C-section! She continued to support us after birth with additional visits, frequent check-ins, and additional support. We’re so grateful we had Hilary as we entered this next chapter of our lives.

In the 12 years I have been a birth worker, my doula bag has become quite small. I have learned through experience, the families I have supported and the providers I have been a team player with, that there are only a few items really needed to support your birth preferences. Knowledge in the physiology of hormones, movement, space, emotions and breath. Experience in medical interventions and helping you to have productive conversations with your providers when they are needed, skill in comfort measures and massage (my hands are so strong:), and authentic words of encouragement, praise, and affirmation. I am best fit for a person who is wanting no or low interventions (in or out of the hospital): a VBAC or a free birth. My goal is to empower you and your labor partner so you can both be present in the event and have your best birth experience possible.

  From the moment we first spoke to Ryah we knew that she was the perfect fit as our Doula – she is incredibly warm, has such an extensive background, and food is one of her love languages! We had two prenatal appointments in which we discussed our birth preferences, learned stretches to do leading up to my due date, and practiced different techniques to try during early labor. She was also always available to reach via text or phone throughout my pregnancy.

  Ryah was the most crucial person in helping my husband and I bring our baby earth side. She guided me through each contraction and continuously helped me stay centered and find my breath. She made suggestions of positions to try based on where the baby was to keep things progressing. She made sure my husband played an integral part in the experience and conveyed our birth preferences to the nursing staff. I ended up having an unmedicated birth, and I know this was only possible because she was there with me.

  Once my baby was born, she helped him latch and stayed by my side to ensure that everything was okay. Since being home we’ve had a phone and in-person chat in which we processed my labor experience, and she made sure we were set up for the first few weeks postpartum. I am grateful that she is available throughout the 4th trimester! Aside from providing immeasurable support, she also took photos and video during labor which is the most special thing to look back on.

  Sage was my primary support while giving birth to my son. As a transman, the concept of giving birth in a traditional hospital setting was honestly kind of terrifying. Sage helped to keep me comfortable, keep labor going, and keep the staff from misgendering or dead naming me. I don’t plan to have any more kids, but if I do, I hope she’s there.

Trained in birth and bereavement, I hope to provide services to families experiencing all sorts of pregnancy. I am trained to support complicated pregnancies, miscarriages and losses, and general pregnancy support. I got started in this field after the birth of my son, Clark. I was young and underprepared. The one thing that helped was having a community of women to reiterate how unique and challenging motherhood is. I am a married mother of three grown adults! My husband and I just relocated back to Kitsap Co. to be closer to our families and I am excited to work here to support birth and postpartum clients. I feel that it is important to be certified as a doula as well and strive for a high level of competence as your doula. My first birth, at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, was less than ideal and sent me on the path to discover how to make my next birth better, more fulfilling and empowering and ultimately is the reason I became a Doula. I enjoy supporting Military and Law enforcement families and offer a 10% discount to them.

As your Doula my job is to support you, your partner and your birth preferences without bias. I am experienced in supporting both medicated and unmedicated births as well as VBAC and Cesarean Birth.   If I could give a rating higher than five stars, I would! Jocelyn was able to take over and advocate for me when I was unable to do it myself, and when my partner and I were unsure of what decisions to make before and during the delivery process. She was there for us from the early stages of labor to when our baby was in my arms for the first time. She is both knowledgeable and creative in her methods and had answers to all our questions. She far exceeded the expectations we had and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for doula services!!

I am a birth and postpartum doula as well as a childbirth educator. I offer virtual care and in person care. As a birth doula, I offer: a complimentary interview, 1-2 prenatal appointments, birth attendance and immediate postpartum support, and 1-2 postpartum visits. My typical rate is a range of $1500-2000. For lower income families, I have a reduced fee of $1000. As a virtual birth doula, I offer: a complimentary interview, 1-2 prenatal virtual appointments, virtual support (texts, calls, video chat) during labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum hours (if needed), and 1-2 postpartum virtual calls. My fee for virtual doula support is $350. I also offer individualized childbirth education tailored specifically to your birth plan for $350 (complimentary for birth clients). This is offered virtually and in 1-2 calls/video chats including resources and notes. As a postpartum doula, I provide care to families when needed at an hourly rate ranging from $40-60/hr with a 4hr shift minimum. For current clients and low income families, I offer a reduced fee range of $25-30/hr.

I am a Certified Lactation Counselor and Birth/Postpartum doula, in part because of my own experiences. I found myself unfulfilled in other fields of work because I was ignoring what I was called to do. I had a myriad of pregnancy issues, including loss, high risk medical complications, postpartum mood disorder, PTSD, and breastfeeding challenges.   McKenna was definitely God sent for us. During our first interview with her when we worried about the lack of support and receiving this from someone we do not know, McKenna was reassuring; her steady, thoughtful approach to how she can help us convinced us of her service.
  Days leading up to my due date, she followed up everyday on any symptoms and discomfort I may have, often providing encouragement and home remedies.
  After days of false labor, on the day I was actually in labor but yet doubtful, McKenna drove home immediately without a moments hesitation to help us fully aware this could turn to be another false labor day.From back rubs to ensuring I stay hydrated, to helping me through nausea and tracking contractions she was with us every step and brought in her understanding of what’s going on and coping mechanisms. Her knowledge and steady yet comforting support helped me through the birth of our darling baby boy. I’ll be ever grateful.

I left my job as a database programmer to pursue a passion for helping families in 2005 and I haven't looked back. Over the past 17 years I have supported over 300 births and including many clients for several births. In addition to being a birth doula, I am a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and am the immediate past president of the Lamaze International Board of Directors.   Alice was the perfect doula for me. She is a consummate professional: reliable, knowledgeable, warm, supportive, confident, all around great. She is your advocate, coach and teammate all at the same time. My birthing experience didn’t go as I expected, but Alice helped me navigate the twists and turns with encouragement and non-judgmental support. When I had to make tough decisions, her guidance gave me the confidence to know I was making the best choices for myself and my baby. My experience would have been exponentially more stressful for myself and my partner if she had not been there. I am so grateful she was part of my daughter’s birth.

We offer free consultations so we can get to know your needs and you have the opportunity to see if we are the right fit for those needs.   Mia brings a light into any room she is in. Working alongside her, I have seen her patience, dedication, and love for each family she has had the privilege to work with. Mia has taken it upon herself to fill her toolbox with as many resources as she can to support her families before, during, and after the birth and have even seen her come to a client’s home with hands-on items to help the family visualize various situations and methods. I often refer clients to her that need a sisterly hand in the process of birth, as well as families with a little more anxiety and special needs.
