Practice overview
Birth is an important gateway for families into parenting or expanding their family. My focus is in supporting your relationship with your partner and assisting both of you through the birth of your baby. I truly believe your partner is in labor as much as you are, (mentally, emotionally, and spiritually), and as a unit need nurturing and support. My hope is that you come away from birth more bonded and connected.

March 2, 2023 at 3:41 pm | Client reviewAt the beginning of my journey through pregnancy, I had never heard of a “doula”. Along the way, through my research into what my doting husband referred to as my “woo-woo” home birth; I was referred to Nancy by a friend. By “woo-woo”, I mean that I had intended to have a crystal laden, natural, water birth at my home. Nancy’s expertise in hypnotherapy seemed a PERFECT cherry on top of my Woo-Woo Sundae. The concept felt perfectly complementary to what I had already been planning, but also a great skill to learn for traversing daily life, both before and after baby! Nancy has such a wonderful “bedside manner”, if you will. I felt comfortable and safe with her immediately. The training sessions were great. If your partner is also more of a “woo-woo” type, it might be a little easier than I had it with my well-intentioned non-woo-woo-er. However, they’re not the one giving birth in the manner of their choosing (baby-willing); so stand up for yourself and how you want to prepare! My sweet babe, after nearly joining us at 32wks, decided that she was frank breech and not interested in negotiating. I made it through an (unsuccessful) external cephalic version without pain meds by using my skills from Nancy. After that, we surrendered to the fact that our babe would join us via c-section and Nancy was very supportive. She was at the hospital, bright and early and stayed with me throughout the joyful process. It wasn’t what we had planned, but having her there put me at ease.
