Cozy Doula

    Practice overview

I am married to my amazing husband Johnny and am a mother of 3, My oldest is Eve who is 19, Second is Dante age 12 and my youngest is Penny who just turned 7.
I have been practicing lactation and labor support since I had my first. Each experience whether I went thru it myself or been present to others has taught me tremendously. My mission is to help make the birthing experience of others one where you’re fully informed and empowered to make any decisions that come your way without feeling rushed or ignored. Your tolerance and experience matters! I try to marry the knowledge of your provider with the comfort of your partner to make your birth a safe comfortable place no matter where you decide to deliver.

Mia Gertsch is very professional and dedicated towards her clients. I wouldn’t be able find someone who could have done better.

I don’t think my birth experience would have had the same outcome if I hadn’t had Mia supporting me. She knew my preferences and helped me find my voice to advocate for myself. She is knowledgeable, funny, kind and goes the extra mile. I would highly recommend Mia to anyone looking for birth support!

Mia brings a light into any room she is in. Working alongside her, I have seen her patience, dedication, and love for each family she has had the privilege to work with. Mia has taken it upon herself to fill her toolbox with as many resources as she can to support her families before, during, and after the birth and have even seen her come to a client’s home with hands-on items to help the family visualize various situations and methods. I often refer clients to her that need a sisterly hand in the process of birth, as well as families with a little more anxiety and special needs. Her communication and response time is top notch and works amazingly with us postpartum doulas. I am always honoured to work alongside her and and excited for each and every family that she walks the path of birth with.
