Ciarra W. | Doula in Puyallup, WA

Labor of Love Doula Services, LLC

    Practice overview

I am born and raised in Seattle. I am a wife and mother of two littles and one furry baby. I have been an educator for the last 10 years, 7 of those teaching special needs students. As a birth worker, I have an empathetic approach to this work that centers around support and safety because our communities deserve deep and restorative care. As well as physical support during labor, my role is also to act as a bridge of communication for the birthing person and their family. Every birthing person deserves to have someone there to guide and assist them in making educated choices about their pregnancy, and remind them that they can trust the strength of their bodies during this time.

    Care philosophy

Community-based doula support is important because experiences differ between groups, and families deserve to have their support person be someone who can understand their experiences and empathize with their concerns and fears. I believe the most effective change occurs when communities are empowered and able to take care of their own. I’m here to provide unbiased information, emotional support.

Ciarra was very thoughtful, responsive and insightful. Anything she did not know she made sure to either find the appropriate resource or refer me to someone that was knowledgeable. Even though I hired her for placenta encapsulation, she still provided support to me during my labor and delivery. You can tell she truly cares about her clients and will go the extra mile to make sure you have a wonderful and empowered birth experience!

I was referred to Ciarra by another processor & I am glad that she was available to accept me as a client. From the very start, Ciarra thoroughly explains every step of the process, as well as her contract & is more than willing to answer any questions or concerns you may have prior to delivery. She is trustworthy and very transparent in communication, and helpful to give suggestions on any obstacles you may run into prior or upon delivery. I would highly recommend her to any of my expecting friends or family seeking the same services and will definitely be a returning client on future pregnancies.

As a midwife I have had the great honor of working together with Ciarra. She is dedicated to supporting birthing families as a doula–her work is informed by her years of personal experience as a mother, partner, and advocate, as well as her continued training in birth work. She is passionate about supporting the community through critical analysis and exploration of birth options, and sharing coping skills and comfort measures. Ciarra infuses every personal interaction with positivity and joyful energy.
