Honestly, I didn’t like the idea of hiring a stranger to attend the birth of our daughter or see the need for someone like a doula at our birth. Not only did she make me a believer but she made a point to include me in the entire process in ways I would not have ever known possible. She educated me on how to best support my wife and was very hands on in alleviating her labor discomforts. I was able to catch my own baby at her suggestion with the doctor right there. I didn’t even know I was allowed to do that! She made sure we knew the risks and benefits of everything the hospital staff was offering, and even helped my wife breastfeed our baby successfully when the nurses were saying her chin was too small to latch. When we have another baby we will absolutely hire her again!

She is not only professional, but knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, thoughtful, and she follows through. I would choose her over everyone else, and I work in the field and meet a lot of other doulas. Really not anything else that needs said.

I first came to meet her through her exceptional childbirth educational course, and due to her passion, genuine care, and knowledge I immediately retained her as our doula not fully understanding how her involvement would help me through childbirth. On the big day she was accessible, supportive, and helpful in guiding us on next steps. At one point in the the midst of my labor she could sense my fear and confusion, without missing a beat she guided me to refocus, showed me how to reclaim my calm, and encouraged me that I could do this. It was that level of care that made it so simple to have her with me at my second birth. There she was again with the same level of care and support for our family again. If you are looking for someone who cares, is knowledgeable, and will support you then Rose Smith is a wonderful choice on one if the biggest days of your life.
