Jess is reliable, non-judgemental, and incredibly helpful throughout it all. She is a comfortable advocate during the vulnerable moments, a steady energy during the anxious moments, and a wonderful woman looking out for your best interest throughout the entire journey. She helped me find light after miscarriage, and was with me every step of the way when I had my beautiful baby the following year. I look forward to hiring Jess again.

Hello everyone! I am a newly certified birthing Doula, having recently graduated from the prestigious National College of Midwifery. I am a proud mother of two beautiful children who inspire me every day to work harder and make a meaningful contribution to society. The journey towards motherhood is incredibly special, and I feel honored to be part of this process. My passion for supporting women through their birthing journey was ignited when I became a mom. I experienced first-hand the emotional roller coaster ride that comes with pregnancy and childbirth. It made me realize the need for empathetic and skilled support during this critical period in a woman's life. As a Doula, my primary objective is to provide pregnant women with the physical, emotional, and informational support they need to have a positive and empowering birth experience.

Care philosophy

As a Doula, Tayna's birthing philosophy is centered around the belief that birth is a natural, physiological process that every woman has the inherent strength to navigate. She is deeply committed to providing unbiased, non-judgmental support, empowering women to make informed decisions about their birth experience.

I have always been interested in birth, and how life is brought into this world. With a long background in Nannying and child care, I have experience in all aspects of caring for newborns and assisting families with the utmost love and respect. I was trained with Dona international in childbirth and breastfeeding education, learning all aspects of doula care and evidence based information. Whether it is in the hospital, birth center, or at home, I can help create a nurturing and calm environment to uplift and empower the birth person. In prenatal appointments and throughout the birth I can provide gentle massage, belly sifting, position changing, tens unit support, aroma therapy, guided meditation, reiki healing, cold and hot compresses, and physical/mental support to aid in pain management and provide an uplifting environment. These tools coupled with evidence based information and full emotional support, will be used to ease tension and empower the birth experience.

Care philosophy

Every birth is a beautiful blessing, and perhaps the most profound moment in many people's lives. I believe that doula support and guidance can educate, uplift and improve the birth experience and I feel so fortunate to help facilitate any birth persons journey. Emotional support, along with childbirth education, and creating a calm and meditative atmosphere are all elements used in my practice.

I really appreciated Natalie! She was very attentive, and always knew when to call. She asked me what my needs were and she cater to those her soothing voice was just what I needed when I was going through my contractions. And she was surprisingly strong enough to help me up. I would recommend Natalie to any expecting mother even my midwives who met her, loved her and said she was very nice. She showed a lot of love and care towards my newborn and I really appreciate it that. So if you’re thinking about having Natalie as a Doula, that would be a great choice, I recommend it!

I am an enthusiast of humans helping humans. Although I have not experienced any of my own pregnancies, I have physically, mentally, and emotionally with my mom's three experiences. I've seen my mom go through each pregnancy differently as well as each of their births being unique in their own way but beautiful in every way. I have experienced seeing a supportive birth team by your side helps every woman feel more empowered and supported during this beautiful experience. My reason for becoming a birth doula is to come alongside each woman to support their desired birth plan.

Care philosophy

As a doula, I feel the importance of being the best calming presence I can be, I've learned that just having someone there to listen, guide, and sometimes literally carry your weight can make your birth and postpartum experience all the difference. I connect with my clients on a deeper personal level and create that relationship bond rather than client and doula but coming together as a team.

We had the opportunity to work with Jillian throughout my second pregnancy. She was a referral from the doula we used during the birth of our oldest. Jillian was wonderful to work with throughout my pregnancy and delivery of my son. She was supportive, understanding of our needs/desires, attentive, and friendly. She knows what she is doing and also collaborates with each person to address needs and concerns. My son’s arrival was traumatic and Jillian was with us in each step. Her guidance and support were extremely helpful. Her postpartum visits were supportive to my entire family. She is passionate about this work and it shows. We were so blessed to work with her.

Tamica, I can’t express the gratitude that my family has for you. You have forever changed all of our lives for the better. Your compassion, patience and attention to detail (emotional, metal & physical) is something I will always try to achieve for myself.

After three weeks of bed rest, I thought I was prepared for Lucca to make her way earth-side. But through her birth and all of the unexpected steps my labor required (the magnesium) to get her here safely, I can’t imagine how Trace and I would have coped through all of that if it weren’t for you. You’d think with baby number four we would be seasoned pros. But that simply wasn’t the case.

You have such a remarkable soul. Thank you for making such a special impact on our family. We Will remember you forever.

Fazzy, was truly everything I needed during my pregnancy; she was there every step of the way. At 37 years old, first time mom, extremely high risk with my rainbow baby, Fazzy was able to help figure out my date of conception. She aided me when I had certain symptoms, and advised what she thought I could be experiencing. She made sure the doctor would confirm.

When I would panic, Fazzy was a phone call away to keep me calm. During the pandemic I freaked out, was between doctors, and Fazzy was able to get access to a doppler which kept me comfortable. She came to my home and helped me learn how to use it and all.

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure during pregnancy and Fazzy was able to help me understand my medication and dosage. When I had concerns Fazzy advised she thought I was experiencing pre-eclampsia early on but doctor didn’t diagnose. I was put on bed rest and Fazzy checked on me making sure I was taking vitamins and drinking water and not stressing. Weeks later and having to have a c-section at 30 weeks Fazzy ended up being right, i had pre-eclampsia. Fazzy showed up to the emergency to help deliver baby but covid restrictions didn’t allow her to come in. I was able to speak to her right after and she was a sounding board while my baby was in the nicu for 2 months. Fazzy advised me questions to ask and advised me on things to do to help my baby (born 1 pound 15 ounces) come home. My daughter is now 11 months and healthy. I appreciate Fazzy duola services.

I have been practicing as a full spectrum doula since 2014, beginning by training with The Doula Project in New York as a birth doula and a perinatal loss and abortion doula, and then becoming a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula through Doula Trainings International. I have worked with clients who speak French, Spanish, and English, and am proud to offer services in these three languages. My approach is evidence-based and my practice centers on healing and working to end systemic disparities in care. I seek to witness each person’s experience, to offer nonjudgmental support, a feminist, queer and anti-racist lens, and a grounded and adaptable presence. I am deeply grateful to the community with whom I continue to build and grow.

Care philosophy

I believe that everyone is the expert on their own body and life and deserves to be held with care through life's transitions. Welcoming a child, birthing, and becoming parents are sacred processes. I work with birthing people, their partners,+ surrogates as they embrace + remember their power to sustain through change. I support individuals + families postpartum as they grow + navigate new roles.

Hi my name is JoseIyn but my family and friends call me yose. I am a holistic Birth and Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Educator, and Birthrights advocate in Orange County, California. My passion for Birth work began in 2020 when I got pregnant with my daughter Kailani. During pregnancy I prepared mentally, physically, and spiritually for labor, but did not prepare for the postpartum period. With no family or support around it made my 4th trimester a very difficult time for me and my partner. This is what made me more passionate about supporting parents during the postpartum period. I completed her Birth Worker training with Bebo Mia Inc when her daughter was only 3 months old. After the training I realized that I wanted to take a more ancestral approach in birth work, and began learning about Mexican Indigenous Birth and Postpartum Traditions. I am constantly growing and learning! As your Doula I will walk with you through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Care philosophy

Our philosophy of birth is that it is designed to be a normal, natural process that your body was perfectly made to experience. I will support you and educate you on every stage of your journey.

Hi there! My name is Briauna Smith and I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula located in the Los Angeles area. Something unique about my practice is that I offer more than just the two standard prenatal visits. This is because I understand that a positive birth experience requires a comfortable atmosphere, so it's important that we get to know each other! It's my goal to help you prepare for the birth you envision and to set you up for success during your postpartum period. I offer additional services such as childbirth education, placenta encapsulation, and more. I birthed my little one a little over a year ago at home (doula and midwife in attendance), which is what ultimately led me to doula work. I believe every woman, every family should be informed about their options and have the opportunity to have the birth they envision. When I'm not visiting with clients or at a birth, I run a natural skin care business, do some nutritional consulting, and am expanding my herbalism practice. I love to cook and read, but I'm mostly adjusting to and enjoying motherhood in my free time.

I found my way to the birth world after having a very long and challenging labor with my first child. Through the 3 day process, I could not imagine having done it without my doula. I want to make sure every birthing family feels empowered during their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. Being a Lactation Consultant I can help ensure your breastfeeding journey gets off to a great start and help you should you encounter any challenges along the way. I'm happy to support families from preconception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, as well as through miscarriage/loss/abortion. I love introducing women to the ancient practice of vaginal steaming so that they may prepare for labor, shorten labor, and help them heal postpartum all in a very relaxing way. I love to ensure that new families, in particular the birthing person, are well cared for as they adjust to life with a newborn. For postpartum clients I enjoy cooking nourishing meals and being a supportive, encouraging, and knowledgeable guide. As a mother of 2 myself, I know how valuable support throughout your transition to parenthood can be. Feel free to message or email me to set up a time to Zoom or chat and see if I'm the right doula for you!

Care philosophy

I offer non-judgmental care to help you have a birth where you feel empowered and that look back on with fondness. With lots of knowledge regarding lactation, I can help ensure your baby feeding journey gets off to an excellent start. I am also a Placenta Specialist, Certified Vaginal Steam Consultant + Herbalist.

From the first moment you spend in Natasha’s orbit, it’s abundantly clear why she chose the path of doula—or maybe that it chose her! Natasha is an incredibly calming, nurturing, and supportive presence, yet her confidence, assertiveness and poise radiate just as strongly. This unique combination of traits is absolutely key for a person serving that role.

I was fortunate enough to have Natasha right by my side as my doula and friend throughout my entire labor and birthing experience. She brought everything I needed physically, mentally and emotionally and intuitively always knew which tools to pull from the kit. She spoke up for me when it didn’t even cross my mind and she anticipated exactly when to lead with humor, when to cry with me, when to rub my shoulders, when to pull back my hair and when to just hold my hand. She effortlessly collaborated with the entire medical staff, making me feel like I was on a winning team. Her expertise, knowledge, assuredness and optimism gave me an overarching sense of security all along the way.

From my perspective, just the idea of having a baby is painful and scary no matter how you slice it…but somehow, Natasha also made it fun.

Care philosophy

On birth: Every woman/birthing person deserves support, advocacy, and attention during her/their birth. As a birth doula, I offer that intuitive support. On postpartum: One of the three golden opportunities in life for deep healing both physically and mentally, I use this time to help a new mother heal using (rest, warmth, nourishment, and support).

Lucero was able to educate both my husband and I on what to expect throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Having her there every step of the way helped ease any worries we had as first time parents. She helped make my extremely long birth enjoyable and stuck with me the whole way through. Her postpartum care is top notch, she even helped me breastfeed after struggling to do so for weeks. I cannot recommend her enough!

My name is Michelle, I'm a mother of two boys, a healer and a birth and postpartum doula. My journey began when I became pregnant with my second son. I knew a home birth was the route I wanted to take, I became obsessed with learning everything I possibly could and I knew that becoming a doula is what I am I called to do. I decided to take the final step and enrolled in a doula training program, Bebo Mia support practitioner. I believe in the power and strength of a woman's body and I'm just here to remind you of that. My goal is to make sure you feel confident during all of your pregnancy, labor and postpartum. I provide evidence based care, along with unlimited emotional and physical support. I take a holistic approach, I provide childbirth classes, belly binding, tea blends, rebozo work, lactation education, baby wearing and placenta encapsulation. Working with Michelle was one of the best decisions we made for me, my pregnancy, and our family. From our earliest interactions during her classes in our home, she demonstrated a depth of knowledge about evidence-based birth and was so patient when answering our questions and asking questions of her own to learn more about what I wanted for my hospital birth. I also love that she took time to get to know me and my husband as individuals and a couple. Not only did it demonstrate a sense of care for our family, but enabled her to understand our dynamic which helped when supporting both of us in labor and delivery.

As we got closer to delivery, Michelle answered all my texts and took time to check in with me via phone on the most difficult days. I always felt comfortable sharing my worries and fears with Michelle—she has a natural sense of empathy which made me feel so supported. When my birth plan changed and I elected to be induced, Michelle made sure I was informed and supported in my decisions.

After my daughter was born, Michelle’s support during the postpartum period was valuable beyond measure. From supporting my physical recovery and lactation, to helping me feel pampered in the comfort of home, and being someone I could cry/vent/laugh with is something that I’ll carry close to my heart for a long time.

The birth of my daughter is something I’ll never forget, and I am so grateful Michelle is entwined in that memory.

JD helped me establish better sleep habits with my 3 month old. They were so knowledgable and helped me piece together the complicated days (and nights!). I cannot thank JD enough for all the support, and totally recommend their services.

Hi there, I'm Andrea, and my goal is to make a positive impact in the world of maternal health and well-being. Currently, I am volunteering for the Happy Mama Healthy Baby Alliance (HMHBA) as a Birth Doula. I've also taken on a board member position with HMHBA because I believe so strongly in the cause. My focus is on supporting women, especially those in low-income communities and women of color. I've seen firsthand the unique challenges these incredible women face, and it's fueled my passion to make a difference in their lives. Being from Guatemala, my passion lies in supporting Latina women in my community as bilingual Doula. As a Doula, Yoga Instructor, and Wellness Coach, I approach my work with a holistic mindset. I want to be there for mothers every step of the way on their journey to improved well-being. I get it – the struggles, the joys, and everything in between. My goal is to guide moms toward a lifestyle that's not only healthier but tailored to their individual needs. I'm all about breaking down barriers and ensuring that every mom, regardless of background or circumstances, has the support she deserves. In my role as a Doula, I'm there to provide emotional, physical, and informational support during the incredible journey of pregnancy and childbirth. Whether I'm leading a yoga class or coaching on wellness, I want to make a real impact. I offer expertise in areas like nutrition, physical fitness, and mental well-being. From preconception through pregnancy to postpartum care, I'm here for women in every stage of motherhood. My background is in public health and currently certified under Happy Mama Healthy Baby Alliance as a Birth Doula. I got my certification in May 2023 and have been part of their board since July 2023. I am also a certified 200 hr Yoga Instructor and 85 hr Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Instructor. I got my certifications in 2021 and 2022. I have experience in Ayurveda, when it comes to nutrition and lifestyle, which I incorporate in my teachings in prenatal and postpartum care. Join me on this journey, and let's empower mothers to embrace a holistic and healthier lifestyle. Together, we can make a difference, one birth and one wellness session at a time.

I am the mother of 2 beautiful children, and I gave birth to a surrogate baby in 2021. I am a trained birth doula through DONA international, and I am certified in acupressure. I am also a student midwife in my primary phase, so I understand intimately what a physiological birth looks like. I had multiple traumatic birth experiences that fueled my passion for helping families understand their choices, at all stages of pregnancy, during labor and postpartum. By helping families stay well informed, they will know they have choices, even when they are told they don't have any. Don't let anyone take your power away from you! The feeling you have when you are able to advocate for yourself and your baby can have a lasting effect beyond birth, and for the rest of your life.

Care philosophy

I believe that all families, regardless of background need to feel supported. A birth doulas role is the physical, emotional and informational support for a family. When a birthing person feels heard, they feel like they can advocate for themselves and their babies when making a decision about their care. As your doula, I am able to hold space for you so you can do exactly that!

When I met Nicole and saw the Doula services she offered I was very happy to have her in my birthing process. Nicole had several pre-natal appointments with me and we created a birth plan. She also taught me about pain management tips, breathing techniques, and birthing positions to use during labor. She got my partner involved and she was so helpful in getting him prepared for the big day. All of her information was extremely helpful and she educated my partner which made him and I feel so much prepared for the big day. When I went into labor, Nicole came to the hospital and helped me during my labour process. She helped me achieve the best birthing experience, better than I even imagined! I had an amazing birthing experience and I was grateful to have Nicole there throughout the process. I was able to labor naturally most of the time and I really had an understanding of what my body was feeling and Nicole helped me through my contractions. She also came to my home for a post-natal visit and was able to help me with any questions I had. She is a wonderful, compassionate, and knowlegable Doula and I couldn’t be happier with her services. Nicole was also affordable and she provided amazing Doula services that fit my needs and budget. 10/10 I am very happy with my experience with Nicole

Being French I had never heard about doula before. For my first pregnancy I knew I will not have an epidural and I needed someone to guide me this is when someone recommended Mathilde. She had been very supportive during my whole pregnancy, recommended me to use some self hypnosis. She never judged me, recommended me some practice but never imposed and most of all she listen to me and my wishes. The big day I sent her a message in middle of the night and she arrived ready to assist me and be there to be my voice to all the nurse to make sure they follow my birthing plan. She always included my husband, gave him and advised him how to be the best partner ever during this delivery. I could never dream of a better delivery and better doula. I recommend her 1000%.

Becoming a Birth Doula was an incredibly rewarding experience. It is a chance to contribute to the lives of new parents during pregnancy, labor and delivery and welcoming new babies into the world. As a Birth Doula I have a unique understanding of the birthing process and can provide a crucial guidance at a time when parents can feel overwhelmed and vulnerable. I can help to create an environment of emotional security. I am there to empower birthing people and their partners to become advocates for their own healthcare which in turn strengthens the bond between them and their newborn baby. Ultimately, I seek to create a safe, supportive and empowering experience for you and your baby-one that will remain with you for years to come.

Monique came to our first visit with a certain calmness. She took her time and answered our questions. My husband felt she had good energy and we hired her as our doula. She gave me a book on positivity and childbirth. Fast forward to labor, she walked my husband through different ways of comforting me. His touches felt warm and pleasing. I owe this to Monique. My husband would not have known what to do without her. She was a great asset to my birthing team. I look forward to seeing her again with our second child…..-first time mom, Mari

Marquiesa really made all the difference for my recent birth experience this past January . She made me feel safe , supported and advocated for me when I was in my most vulnerable state. When I started going into labor she was there for me and gave me the encouragement I needed to have the natural birth experience I was hoping for. Marquiesa was able to walk me through different breathing techniques and positions to ease the pain and enabled me to have a smooth tear free labor. When the baby came quicker than expected Marquiesa advocated for me to have the full delivery staff ready for baby , the nurse on staff did not believe I was truly in active labor and would not call the doctor in, marquiesa advocated for me when I needed it most and had begun crowning , getting the doctor in within minutes. She was there to assist with skin to skin and ensured I was comfortable and prepared . My doctor was preoccupied and the nurse on staff mostly absent during much of the labor process , I don’t think I could have done it without my doula , she gave me the encouragement and guidance I needed and made me feel safe . I would highly recommended her to any one looking for a doula .

My birth and postpartum practice is nearly a decade old! I started birth work shortly after the birth of my only child and have served over 100 families since. My practice philosophy is rooted in ancestral medicine and traditional birth and postpartum practices that encourage following the intuition of the birthing person and encouraging them to trust their own intuitive wisdom. New parents are like newborn babies, trying to make sense of their new reality while caring for a new human. I am here to help make the transition smooth and easy, through hands-on and home support.

Care philosophy

I am a Traditional Postpartum Care Specialist and my philosophy is rooted in Mesoamerican practices that focus on "mothering the mother". I come from the Mexica lineage who, in Indigenous tradition, follow the postpartum practice of the cuartentena which is intensive care and support for the new parents, especially the birthing parent during the first 40 days of your new baby's life.

The birth of my first daughter was transformative as were the nine months leading up to it. With the love and support of my partner and midwife, I felt connected to my body, empowered in my decisions, stronger than I ever knew was possible, and completely overwhelmed with love… love for my new baby, love for my body, love for my support system. I knew almost instantly that I wanted to become a doula. I wanted to provide a nurturing and empowering experience for other families, and to support them through, what can be, the most transformative time in their life. I stepped away from my old career, as a middle school educator, to pursue this passion. As a former teacher I am able to provide thought-provoking, thorough, and organized resources to help you navigate the birth world and make informed decisions based on your intuition and desires. As a mother of three, I have first-hand experiences with pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. This knowledge and experience seeps into how I work with my clients. However, I honor that your experience is your own and I am here to provide nurturing, relationship-centered support. I love helping womxn connect to their body, mind, and heart during pregnancy in order to have the birth they desire and in order to stay connected to self during motherhood. Being a doula is an absolute honor. I look forward to connecting with you to see if we are a good fit for one another. Feel free to reach out via my contact page with any questions or to set up a time to chat.

Care philosophy

I believe birth is a normal, natural, transformative event and one that requires tender care and empowering support. It is an honor to do this work. As a former educator, I provide knowledge and resources during the prenatal stage. With a background in yoga, I help my laboring clients get into a relaxed state using breath and movement... to move out of their head and into a place of surrender.

During prenatal appointments, I will help you create a birth plan, discuss how you envision your birth experience, what type of environment you prefer, who might be there, and how you imagine me supporting you (and your partner). I will also cover basic childbirth education, address any questions or concerns, and give early labor coping techniques and relaxation exercises. I am also a Certified Lactation Educator and will cover a lot of breastfeeding education so you are off to a great start. During Labor, I will meet you at your birthing location and remain there until a few hours after baby is born and you have achieved a first successful latch. Postpartum, usually within the first week, I will come visit you in your home and make sure everything is going smoothly and address any breastfeeding concerns you may have,

Care philosophy

I'm passionate about educating women and families so that they can make informed decisions that they are confident in. Going through labor and birth is life changing, and every woman should feel empowered, supported, comfortable, and confident. My role as a birth doula is to hold that space for my clients.

As a birth doula myself, it was important for me to have my doula be someone I could trust 100% and that’s why I chose Katy. She helped set the tone from the very start of my active labor. She blended in perfectly to my relaxing home birth environment and spoke strength into me at the moments I needed it most. She worked well with my midwife and got along with the family members I had present during my birth experience. And she did a pretty good job taking photos and videos! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a calm, educated, and empowering birth doula.

Doula Services: FAQs

A doula is a professional that provides emotional, physical and educational support to new parents before, during, and after childbirth and into the early postpartum period. Doulas are companions who strive to give families a safe, positive, and healthy labor experience. They provide parents with evidence-based information and education on childbirth and are someone who the parent can turn to with questions and concerns about having a baby. Doulas also take an active role in collaborating with the parent to create a birth plan.

A certified birth doula offers advice and techniques to help reduce the stress that the parent often experiences during childbirth and provides you with education about different aspects of delivery and labor and what comes after.

There are two ways you can hire a doula through Meela in Fontana, CA.

You can browse through the available doulas in Fontana, CA and send the doulas you are interested in a message, introducing yourself and setting up an interview. We recommend interviewing at least three before hiring your top doula.

You can also hire a doula in Fontana, CA in three easy steps:

  1. Post a job for free: answer some questions and receive responses from top-rated doulas in Fontana, CA. It takes less than 30 seconds to post your job.
  1. Get your list of Fontana, CA doulas: in a few hours, you will have a collection of doulas near you who are qualified to meet your needs. You can compare pricing, experience and read reviews. You can chat with each doula to learn more about them.
  1. Hire a doula with confidence: schedule virtual or in-person interviews with your top doula choices. Hire your top doula and start getting the care you deserve.

While the cost of a doula can vary based on experience and the services offered, you can expect the average cost of a doula in Fontana, CA to be $1,214, which is the average cost of a doula in the state of California. The cost of a doula in Fontana, CA can range from $997 to $1,431. These costs are based on a representative group of 1,036 doulas surveyed by Meela across the state of California. The average cost of a doula in California is higher than the U.S. national average cost of a doula, which is $971.

When hiring a birth doula in Fontana, CA, you and your doula will discuss and agree upon a fee structure, and your doula will send you itemized invoices through Meela, which you can pay securely through the app.

Some insurance companies will cover all or part of the cost of hiring a doula. Contact your insurance company to find out if they offer any coverage for hiring a doula; not all insurance companies do.

You can hire two types of doulas in Fontana, CA: a birth doula and a postpartum doula. The birth doula is during your pregnancy and through the birth of your child. They provide you with emotional, physical and educational support during your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and for the first few hours after your child is born.

A postpartum doula will support you for the first few weeks after the baby is born. They provide in-home assistance, including teaching you how to take care of your newborn, acting as lactation consultant, and can provide some night nanny services.

Yes, a birth doula can provide support during a Cesarean birth and delivery. Doulas are non-medical professionals and do not replace obstetricians, physicians, midwives or nurses. They are an additive member to the team and provide emotional, physical and informational support to the birthing parent, partner and family. It is up to you whether the certified doula can remain in the operating room during the procedure.

When you hire a doula in Fontana, CA, your services typically include several in-person prenatal sessions, 24/7 phone and text support, full attendance throughout your labor, and several hours of support immediately following your birth.

A doula in Fontana, CA can help you in any kind of birth. Certified doulas are able to assist parents in creating the ideal “birth environment” and help parents deliver their baby safely. A doula can provide support during the birth whether it occurs in a hospital, a home, or another birth center of some kind. Doulas are there to support you in your desired birth preferences, whether that is a preference for natural, non-medicated, assisted, C-section or anything else.

Certified doulas can also act as a liaison between you and hospital staff regarding your childbirth expectations and preferences. For example, if your preference is to have a non-medicated birth, a doula can help guide you through that process and create a personalized birth plan. A certified doula in Fontana, CA does not replace medical staff (such as your obstetrician and nurses).

When a surgical procedure is required, there are some situations in which a birth doula can also remain in the operating room, although this is not an expected obligation. A certified birth doula can also assist hospital staff to improve the overall birthing experience. A doula in Fontana, CA will typically stay with the parents for several hours after birth to help them with birth recovery.

Evidence suggests that a birth doula in Fontana, CA can help improve parent satisfaction with their baby’s birth and delivery. The involvement of a doula can also lead to shorter deliveries with less complications.

Recent studies show that parents who have a support person like a doula by their side throughout labor and childbirth are more likely to:

  1. Give birth without the need for pain medicine
  2. Describe their birth experience in a positive way
  3. Give birth without the need for medical intervention, such as C-sections or vacuum delivery
  4. Experience a shorter labor

You can hire a doula early in your pregnancy to allow you time to get to know each other and to begin planning for your later trimesters, labor, birth, and aftercare. It is ideal to hire a doula when you are around 20 weeks along, but you can start looking for one before that.

It is never too late to hire a doula in Fontana, CA; you have right up to your due date to find a doula near you and receive all the benefits of doula support.

While many people think that a doula and a midwife are the same thing, their educational background and job duties are different. Doulas are non-medical professionals who provide emotional, physical and educational support, while also offering actionable advice and guidance to new parents about how to nurture their baby.

A midwife is a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) or a certified midwife (CM). CNMs are medical professionals that are certified and licensed by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. CMs are also certified, but they do not have nursing backgrounds.

Doulas are not medical professionals; they focus on the emotional support for the parents and the family before, during, and after the birth of the baby. Their job is to provide information, advice, and support to the family not diagnose any medical conditions or provide medical advice.
