Practice overview
The birth of my first daughter was transformative as were the nine months leading up to it. With the love and support of my partner and midwife, I felt connected to my body, empowered in my decisions, stronger than I ever knew was possible, and completely overwhelmed with love… love for my new baby, love for my body, love for my support system.
I knew almost instantly that I wanted to become a doula. I wanted to provide a nurturing and empowering experience for other families, and to support them through, what can be, the most transformative time in their life.
I stepped away from my old career, as a middle school educator, to pursue this passion. As a former teacher I am able to provide thought-provoking, thorough, and organized resources to help you navigate the birth world and make informed decisions based on your intuition and desires.
As a mother of three, I have first-hand experiences with pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. This knowledge and experience seeps into how I work with my clients. However, I honor that your experience is your own and I am here to provide nurturing, relationship-centered support. I love helping womxn connect to their body, mind, and heart during pregnancy in order to have the birth they desire and in order to stay connected to self during motherhood.
Being a doula is an absolute honor. I look forward to connecting with you to see if we are a good fit for one another. Feel free to reach out via my contact page with any questions or to set up a time to chat.

July 21, 2022 at 11:15 am | Client reviewI’ve been lucky enough to have known Rachel for many many years. When I found out I was pregnant, she was one of the first calls I made. Rachel, a 3x home birth momma, had been through the journey I was about to embark on. She is calm and intuitive, a clear communicator, and full of so much prenatal and postpartum wisdom – exactly the person I wanted on my birth team. I loved our prenatal visits, they were thorough and informative, I felt extremely prepared going in to birth. When it was go time, she got me through the phases of labor feeling held and supported. I successfully birthed my daughter at home just as I had wished. And her postpartum care was everything! Delicious meals.. answers to my parenting questions.. and even a little yoga and reiki as the cherry on top. Nothing but love for her <3

July 21, 2022 at 11:18 am | Peer reviewRachel is a gift; to the clients she serves and to the birth community as a whole. Her wise and gentle energy guides parents at the most vulnerable time. She has a gift to embark knowledge without being overtaking or making the client feel disempowered. I have watched her in the birth room and I have observed her working in client’s home during the postpartum period. No matter where she is, her strength, wisdom, experience and laid back, non- intruding energy make her a delight to be around. As a mother, now grandmother and midwife, I refer Rachel to any expectant person or family, knowing they will be in the capable hands of a woman who will show up 200% to educate, nurture and support with grace and an open heart. Oh, and her cooking; as healing and heart-filled as her doulaing.

July 25, 2022 at 10:51 am | Client reviewRachel has a calm, loving presence that allowed me as a birthing person to feel confident in my body’s process. She assured me in moments where I wasn’t sure I had the strength. She showed up for me with simple words and comforting touch. She truly has a gift for birth and postpartum work. Both my birth and recovery were more positive due to her expert support.
