Practice overview
Laura Demercurio began her work as a Postpartum doula in 2008 after completing Nursing school. She was given the opportunity to work in the Postpartum and Nursery units where her love of the postpartum time began. This led her to take the CAPPA Postpartum doula training to gain more knowledge and start her path towards becoming a professional doula. After some time of working with women she noticed that there was something missing from the postpartum period and made it her duty to learn more. This desire led her to become a Certified INNATE Postpartum Care provider and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Since then her knowledge, practice and vision has evolved tremendously.
Laura has a passion for empowering women to take charge of their health and is dedicated to the women she serves. She takes great joy in providing the traditional care that is often absent during the postpartum period and that is so needed for women, families and communities to thrive.
Laura has experience working with high profile families, fully staffed homes and international travel.
She is there to support women physically, emotionally and spiritually and to create a safe space where they feel nurtured, comfortable and safe.

March 4, 2024 at 6:52 am | Client reviewLaura was an absolute god sent. I had twins and did not know where to start. She took amazing care of my babies, showed me sleeping and feeding tips and tricks that no one else told me about. She massaged me the swelling and water out of my feet and legs and I lost a ton of water weight within the next week. She also fed me amazing meals to help support my babies and breast feeding. I will always be so grateful to have had someone like her help me. She was a true blessing & I will never forget. I hired someone else months later and it just was not the same as Laura. She was the full package deal.

March 4, 2024 at 7:16 am | Client reviewWe had such a great experience with Laura as our postpartum doula. Her extensive knowledge on breastfeeding and infant care helped us to feel confident and supported as first time parents. Each week I looked forward to her visits as a touchstone on my postpartum journey. The warming therapies and various techniques Laura shared helped my body heal quickly. The closing ceremony was really impactful and helped me move into motherhood feeling empowered and integrated. I cannot recommend Laura highly enough!!

March 12, 2024 at 4:13 pm | Client reviewLaura performed the closing of the hips ceremony with the postpartum bath for my second postpartum period. The ceremony is an absolute must for marking the importance of the postpartum period during a time that can feel very overwhelming and also forgotten. It brought so much to the surface and helped to remember all that my body, mind and spirit had gone through throughout pregnancy, birth and the immediate postpartum. I could feel as if my spirit was reunited with my body. There’s so much thought and nourishment that goes into this ceremony and I cant recommend the ceremony and Laura enough! Thank you so much!
