Helen Vitaris

I have the knowledge and training needed to educate new parents on how to care for their newborn by teaching them how to feed, bath and put babies down for naptime. I can help parents organize the nursery to make things more convenient and easier to handle. I am highly trained to take care of singletons, twins or even triplets, so parents with multiple newborns are not so overwhelmed and stressed. When I am available to care for newborns 24 hours a day, the new parents have time to adjust to having an infant in the home. It makes it possible for them to get the sleep they need so they can adjust slowly. Even parents who already have children at home can use the extra help, so they have time to take care of their other children.

Care philosophy

I have worked as a baby nurse for over 23 years and I enjoy helping new parents make the transition into parenthood, by teaching them how to care for the new addition to their family.

Helen has helped me with newborn care and postpartum support for both of my children. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have worked with Helen six years ago with my daughter and most recently with my son this past summer. Helen has worked with us in our home for many weeks. Helen is professional, organized, kind, gentle, thoughtful, and creative. She has a wealth of experience with newborns and taught me so much about how to be a parent with my first born. She got us on the right track with routines for feeding and sleep. Helen has great ideas and is a problem solver. She is fun to strategize with and a pleasure to have in the home. Helen was a great fit for our family and we recommend her to anyone expecting a baby or with a newborn. Helen is the best!

I have always been interested in birth, and how life is brought into this world. With a long background in Nannying and child care, I have experience in all aspects of caring for newborns and assisting families with the utmost love and respect. I was trained with Dona international in childbirth and breastfeeding education, learning all aspects of doula care and evidence based information. Whether it is in the hospital, birth center, or at home, I can help create a nurturing and calm environment to uplift and empower the birth person. In prenatal appointments and throughout the birth I can provide gentle massage, belly sifting, position changing, tens unit support, aroma therapy, guided meditation, reiki healing, cold and hot compresses, and physical/mental support to aid in pain management and provide an uplifting environment. These tools coupled with evidence based information and full emotional support, will be used to ease tension and empower the birth experience.

Care philosophy

Every birth is a beautiful blessing, and perhaps the most profound moment in many people's lives. I believe that doula support and guidance can educate, uplift and improve the birth experience and I feel so fortunate to help facilitate any birth persons journey. Emotional support, along with childbirth education, and creating a calm and meditative atmosphere are all elements used in my practice.

I really appreciated Natalie! She was very attentive, and always knew when to call. She asked me what my needs were and she cater to those her soothing voice was just what I needed when I was going through my contractions. And she was surprisingly strong enough to help me up. I would recommend Natalie to any expecting mother even my midwives who met her, loved her and said she was very nice. She showed a lot of love and care towards my newborn and I really appreciate it that. So if you’re thinking about having Natalie as a Doula, that would be a great choice, I recommend it!

I became a certified lactation counselor in January 2023 and have since had the amazing opportunity to help facilitate the in person, skills days portion of LATCH on IE with the Inland Empire Breastfeeding Coalition. I am continuing my lactation specific education and look forward to supporting families in their infant feeding journey. In June 2023 I completed my Full Spectrum Doula training and am currently completing the requirements to become a certified Postpartum Doula. As a postpartum doula, my role can be flexible and my goal is to make sure both infant and parent(s) are well cared for. I provide support with infant care, feeding, and sleep as well as preparing meals for the parent(s) and helping with light housekeeping. When the baby is older, I can also support with introducing solids. Prior to becoming a CLC and postpartum doula, I was a nanny and have provided care for children ages 0-4.

Care philosophy

Introducing a newborn to your family while healing your body is a delicate and vulnerable time. Parents deserve non-judgmental, compassionate, and collaborative care. As a postpartum doula and certified lactation counselor, I provide care to both the infant and the parent(s) and view both as equally important.

Brittany is amazing! I was a few months into my breastfeeding journey and suddenly having supply issues. I was really stressed and not sure what to do. Brittany took the time to listen to me and asked all the right questions so that together we were able to get to the root of the problem. She was full of helpful advice and suggestions, and she had so many great ideas that I implemented right away. I left our session with a plan and felt so confident, I was no longer feeling anxious. She made me feel so much better, and things started to improve for me and my baby soon afterwards! I can’t say enough great things about Brittany, she is so knowledgeable, but more importantly she really listened to me without judgement. She wanted to help me reach my breastfeeding goals and collaborate with me on a plan to get there without her own agenda. Thank you so much Brittany!

Tamica, I can’t express the gratitude that my family has for you. You have forever changed all of our lives for the better. Your compassion, patience and attention to detail (emotional, metal & physical) is something I will always try to achieve for myself.

After three weeks of bed rest, I thought I was prepared for Lucca to make her way earth-side. But through her birth and all of the unexpected steps my labor required (the magnesium) to get her here safely, I can’t imagine how Trace and I would have coped through all of that if it weren’t for you. You’d think with baby number four we would be seasoned pros. But that simply wasn’t the case.

You have such a remarkable soul. Thank you for making such a special impact on our family. We Will remember you forever.

My journey began with my own childbirth. It was then that I experienced what kind of benefits a doula can bring not only to a woman but also to the couple during labor. I fell in love immediately with this profession. Since 2016, I am privileged to have helped women and their partners make these experiences as positive and healthy as possible. I am proud to support the families, initially in Brazil and nowadays across Santa Clarita Valley. More than witnessing a child's birth, I mostly like to witness the process of a woman becoming a mother.

Care philosophy

During your childbirth my main mission is to provide you comfort. I am there to support you and make suggestions about birth options. I will show you efficient breathing techniques and propose natural measures that will definitely relieve pain such as bathing, massage, relaxation techniques and so on. I will always encourage your partner to take action during labor, after all, this is your moment!

I’m currently working on my certification through DONA, fresh out of school, doing this as my career. I’ve always wanted to go into birth work, the question was always how. I had a friend growing up whose mom was a doula, and learning through her is what truly got me excited. I love to learn, and I believe that you can never have enough knowledge. I’m always looking for opportunities to learn and grow as not only a provider, but a person as well.

Care philosophy

Childbirth is scary. We hear the horror stories all the time. Women screaming in pain, partners fainting, and irreparable physical damage. It doesn’t have to be like this, and it shouldn’t be. Birth is a beautiful thing that every person deserves to experience however they want, and it’s my job to make sure that happens.

Night Nanny Services: FAQs

A night nanny is a trained professional that specializes in newborn care. They are known as “night nannies” because they arrive at night and offer their nannying services until the morning.

Night nannies are also known as newborn care specialists, which is often abbreviated as “NCS.” A night nanny usually works with new parents for 8-12 weeks after the baby is born. Night nannies are often also called “night nurses.”

It can be incredibly exhausting to sleep train new babies, and a night nanny is expected to sleep train babies. Night nannies can also educate and inform new parents on the best way to feed, bathe, sleep train, and swaddle their children. They are generally available for 8-12 hours during the night and provide nanny services during this time.

Many professional parents often hire overnight nannies in Los Angeles, CA because they may work long hours. It might be extremely difficult for these parents to get enough sleep to remain productive, and a night nanny can help them begin sleeping properly. Meela can help you connect with a night nanny in Los Angeles, CA today.

To find a night nanny in Los Angeles, CA, most parents recommend creating a job post on Meela and having uniquely qualified night nannies near you (in your budget) reach out to you through the Meela app.

You can interview and chat with as many night nannies as you wish and hire a night nanny in Los Angeles, CA with confidence. It is completely free to create a job post on Meela and find a night nanny. There are no commitments to hire any of the qualified and expert vetted night nannies Meela brings you.

Here’s how it works in 3 easy steps:

  1. Post a job for free: Answer some questions and receive responses from top-rated night nannies near you. It takes less than 30 seconds to post your job.
  2. Get your list of night nannies: In a few hours, you will have a collection of night nannies near you who are qualified to meet your needs. You can compare pricing, experience, and read reviews. You can chat with each night nanny to learn more about them.
  3. Hire a night nanny with confidence: Schedule virtual or in-person interviews with your top night nanny choices. Hire your top night nanny and start getting your family the care it deserves.

To find a night nanny, you can also browse the available night nannies near you in Los Angeles, CA and read reviews, compare pricing, experience and fit. Send the night nannies you are interested in a message, introducing yourself and setting up an interview. We recommend reaching out to and interviewing at least three overnight nannies before hiring a night nanny near you. After interviewing, hire the most qualified overnight nanny near you and start getting the care you deserve.

The cost of a night nanny can vary based on a variety of factors, including their experience, their services, and their skills or specializations. Overall, the average cost of a night nanny in Los Angeles, CA is $25-40 per hour.

It should be noted that the price of a night nanny in Los Angeles, CA will likely increase if the night nanny is contracted to deal with twins or multiple children. Also, a night nanny’s cost may depend on their level of education, the needs of the newborn, or their exact responsibilities for specific clients.

There are some situations in which your insurance company will help you cover the costs of childcare, and this can obviously help those parents that want their baby’s needs met but might not be as financially secure. Unfortunately, a night nanny usually isn’t covered by insurance.

However, there are some cases where a night nanny is covered by insurance. For example, if your child health issues, parents may want to check to see whether their night nanny costs can be covered by their insurance company since their role is more directly related to your child’s health.

There are many situations in which parents might consider a night nanny in Los Angeles, CA. First, both parents might be working long hours, which means that neither of them have the time to actually bathe/feed/swaddle the child when necessary. Some parents might already rely on friends and family, but realize that they require more help when it comes to their children.

A night nanny is also often most necessary in situations where there are twins or triplets. These parents simply may need extra help to care for these children night after night, and night nannies can help take over some of the workload. For first-time parents, for example, having to care for multiple children for the first time can be overwhelming and stressful. Other parents might also be dealing with mental health issues or postpartum depression.

Overnight nannies also bathe, feed, diaper, and swaddle the baby, as well. A night nanny can also provide care in situations where the mother might be recovering from a C-section, for example.

In many cases, the process is simple: a parent often hands off their baby to their night nanny so that they can get some much-needed sleep. The night nanny remains at the household until the parent(s) wake up, and then night nannies leave once the parents can take over child care duties.

There are some families that try to compare the concept of a “night nanny” to an “overnight babysitter.” The main difference here involves the level of commitment that a night nanny has to a newborn, versus a babysitter that may only have to provide minimal care to a newborn or child.

A babysitter is often not responsible for actually creating/fixing meals for newborns, washing their baby bottles, or doing their laundry. While a babysitter might monitor a newborn or make sure that they are safe – a nanny might spend time soothing a newborn, swaddling them, or taking care of their meals and clothes. A nanny has more obligations than a babysitter, and are considered more of an “extension” of the parents.
