Practice overview
I have the knowledge and training needed to educate new parents on how to care for their newborn by teaching them how to feed, bath and put babies down for naptime. I can help parents organize the nursery to make things more convenient and easier to handle. I am highly trained to take care of singletons, twins or even triplets, so parents with multiple newborns are not so overwhelmed and stressed.
When I am available to care for newborns 24 hours a day, the new parents have time to adjust to having an infant in the home. It makes it possible for them to get the sleep they need so they can adjust slowly. Even parents who already have children at home can use the extra help, so they have time to take care of their other children.

Being first-time parents we had a LOT to learn and Helen was patient and a great teacher. This was especially true when it came to feeding, bathing and helping to sooth our newborn. Helen was such a blessing that when we had our second child we reached out to her again. Even though the second time around we had more confidence, Helen really helped with her calm demeanor in making the jump from 1 to 2. She was never critical and doesn’t mind repeating how to do her special tips and tricks. I think she must have shown us thirty times how to swaddle until we mastered it! I can’t recommend Helen highly enough. She truly helped give our children a great start and offered peace of mind to us as new parents. She also assisted us at night so we could get some much needed rest in the early days. If you’re considering a lactation specialist or general baby whisperer to help you out as a new parent, you need not look further than Helen Vitaris!

She got him on a sleep schedule in no time! She was always available with advice and hadbthe most beautiful, clalming, patient energy that we all needed. She was a night nurse for our twin boys for a couple of months and then helped us find a sleep trainer when the boys were ready to sleep through the night. She is kind and very professional and was able to calmly juggle twin infants, which is no easy feat!

She never rested- when the girls were sleeping, she was putting together their cribs, doing laundry, cooking and keeping my house in order. She taught me how to breast feed my girls, use a breast pump, sleep train, etc. I truly don’t know what I would have done without her! She has my highest recommendation.

We used to watch the clock and pounce on her with new parent questions when she arrived. She patiently helped us troubleshoot the day, then sent us off to rest. Helen took excellent care of our twins on the nights she was there. She set us up for success by recommending products (some that we still use!) and nap schedules for the whole first year. We stuck to her schedule and have excellent sleepers. I would recommend Helen without hesitation!

He was approximately three months old and was dealing with an array of medical challenges. She was amazingly professional with him yet also personable with me. I can’t think of anyone else more competent to deal with infants who is also so fundamentally kind. Being a night owl, I would often sit and chat with her while Max was sleeping in her arms. I got to know her as a person beyond her professional role and, suffice it to say, she and I are still good friends 17 years later. She is a gift to infants in need and their families. I can’t say enough good things about Helen.

She taught us everything we needed to know about caring for a newborn — how to bathe her, trim her nails, put her to sleep safely, healthy nap and sleep habits, and she assisted me with lactation and pumping issues. She made sure our daughter took a bottle from a young age so that we had no issues later. She listened to us but gave wonderful advice. Years later we still talk about Helen and all she taught us! And she even came to work with us for a few weeks when we had an unexpected childcare gap (when my daughter was 6 months old). I’d recommend her to anyone, and if I ever had another child, Helen would be my first call! The only thing I would do differently is have her stay for more than 6 weeks!

We are first time parents and she taught us so much, all with the most caring bedside manner. She was so cute the way she interacted with our baby. And she also was a huge help to me overcoming the baby blues and other difficulties I faced as a postpartum mom. Helen also provided us with schedules to follow to get our baby in a place where he can sleep through the night as early as possible, and took the time to walk through everything with us so we felt well equipped to handle things on our own once she left. While we are still very much in the newborn phase, I look forward to having another child in the future so we can get her back again for as long as possible. We loved her!!
