She did a wonderful with assisting me with my health questions and provided various resources for me. It’s because of her I have more confidence in my decision making when comes to family planning. It’s been a rough start but with having Tiffany’s guidance and knowledge has definitely given me the confidence that I needed to move forward. Thank you so much.

I have been a Doula for 10 years. I am a Bradley method natural childbirth teacher for 11. I attend home, hospital and independent (free births) births. I offer discounts for birth classes to my Doula clients and vise versa. I am a mother of 6. I am a Breastfeeding advocate. I am a baby wearer. I teach cloth diapering. I limit my client intake to no more than 2 clients per month. I feel that it allows for more personal attention and allows for my classes and other services.

Care philosophy

I believe in birth. We are made to give birth. Education goes a long way in helping us make decisions we can stand behind. It lets us know our options. All births matter home or hospital, medicated or natural as long as you are making your own choices. I support ALL Births, as long as your choices are informed and you feel confident in your choices that's all that matters.

I became a labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn nurse after graduating with a BSN in 2001. I have over 20 years of nursing experience and have worked with patients in the hospital, clinical setting, through educational programs and in the home. I specialize in helping patients create a birth and postpartum plan that meets their individual needs. This eases anxiety which helps the bodies natural labor progression. I offer education including Lamaze and other breathing/meditative techniques, positional pain management, developing a birth plan, the labor experience and deciding what is right for you, Breast feeding education/assistance, and mother-baby postpartum care. Hi, I’m Quanisha. I’m a creative writer, full-spectrum doula, licensed massage therapist, and infant and family sleep specialist who guides families through different paths into and through parenting. I’m on a mission to align and support you and your new family’s needs so we can create a gratifying experience on this transformative journey.

Care philosophy

I believe the transformation through parenting blooms through inner work, awareness, practice, unlearning, learning, stillness, activity, and challenging the beliefs that hold you back. My belief about childbirth and postpartum is that it needs a nurturing space that caters to the individual desires of the birthing person and their partners. This paves the way to a great start to parenting.

Quanisha was overall amazing! My husband was a little reserved about having a doula and after we had our baby he says he won’t do it again without one. She was extremely professional, helpful, answered all of my questions and advocated for me and my wishes. She helped my husband navigate the birthing process and made sure I was okay with everything. I remember texting her in a panic because of a possible induction and she put my mind at ease right away when no one else could. Quanisha is the doula every mama needs!

My role as a birth doula is to allow a woman to labor as comfortably as possible. My job is to help find comfortable positions that will help labor progress and support a woman to have a great birth experience. Making sure a woman and her partner is educated and informed about any interventions so they can make a good decision for them is part of my job, but I will never speak for my clients to any medical staff.

Care philosophy

I follow physiological birth practices as much as possible. I believe that birth is a natural process and that a woman is capable of going through the labor process with as few or no interventions as possible. My role is to help that process go as smoothly and to help the women find comfortable positions that will help with the process of labor and delivery.

Hi! I’m Kristalyn Huber and I am a Certified Birth, Bereavement, and Postpartum Doula. My love for birth work began when I was 10 upon witnessing my youngest sibling come into the world. Over the course of the next few years my love for birth work really solidified and I knew I wanted to become a doula after witnessing a few more of my family’s births. Being a part of so many families experiences has taught me so much and I am continually in awe of the birth process and how much I still have yet to learn. Welcoming new life into the world is a life changing miraculous event and I am so humbled that I get to witness it first hand so many times.

Care philosophy

My care philosophy is to make sure you know your options, make you feel heard, and support your wishes for YOUR birth and/or postpartum experience. Every story is unique and I will endeavor to support you in a way that will allow and encourage you to achieve your goals and desires for your birth.

In a past life, I was a traveller. I roamed the country selling handmade wares at artists markets around the US. In my off time, I would devour books about birth and midwifery and I knew when I settled in the Austin area that I would begin my path as a birth worker. I have been a doula for over five years now, with a brief hiatus to birth and raise my own wild toddler. I find so much fulfilment in seeing people become parents and my hope is that you always feel supported, respected, and heard throughout the journey.

Care philosophy

I believe there is magic and beauty present in all births, from unmedicated to cesarean. My goal as a doula is to provide the support and care necessary to create a birth experience where you feel respected and empowered.

A postpartum doula in San Antonio, TX is meant to help the entire family and their role is not just limited to the birthing parent and newborn. A doula provides physical and emotional support to parents and siblings, but they also offer information and advice regarding how to feed, bathe, swaddle, and soothe the baby.

They also often help with postpartum depression issues, and are considered child care “consultants” rather than medical professionals. Many postpartum doulas in San Antonio, TX offer a range of services that can help with parents trying to adjust to a newborn child. These services often include:

  • Sibling care
  • Assist with household chores
  • Parent-baby bonding
  • Physical and emotional recovery
  • Support to parents and extended family

A postpartum doula in San Antonio, TX can have a lasting positive impact on a family and help them feel more confident about their parenting role and the way that they feed and nurture their baby. They might offer advice regarding feeding, bathing, and parent-baby bonding.

It is important to note that a postpartum doula might offer advice but is not expected to provide medical care of any kind or serve as a replacement to an accredited physician. Postpartum doulas are also not qualified to prescribe medication.

Many new parents want to know about certified postpartum doulas and how exactly they are certified. Since the demand for postpartum doulas has greatly expanded in the last several years, the number of reputable postpartum doula training and certification programs has grown in San Antonio, TX. Training criteria can differ from program to program, but most follow a similar curriculum which includes core academic curriculum and practical hours and real-life care experience.

One of the most common national postpartum doula training certifications comes from DONA International. A postpartum doula usually receives about 27 hours of practical training before they are a certified postpartum doula.

There are also CAPPA-certified postpartum doulas in San Antonio, TX, as well. These doulas were certified by the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association, an international organization that certifies doulas and other childbirth educators/professionals.

As a reminder, because postpartum doulas are not trained to be a medical professional and diagnose and treat medical conditions, a certification is not required for them to practice.

As their names suggest, a birth doula’s main priority is to provide support services before, during and in the moments immediately after childbirth. A postpartum doula’s obligations usually begin after the birth, for several weeks or months. In many cases, your birth doula will also be a trained and certified postpartum doula, which can provide a continuity of care that many parents find extremely valuable.

Many parents want to know whether a postpartum doula or a baby nurse would meet their needs and expectations. A baby nurse might be focused on making sure that a baby sleeps or feeds properly, but that might be the extent of their role. A postpartum doula generally offers more holistic services for their clients.

A postpartum doula in San Antonio, TX is expected to be more involved with the family as a whole. They might remain involved in sibling care or also provide emotional support to the partner as both parents adjust to becoming new parents. This may even include support for older siblings, light housework, and even meal prep. A postpartum doula provides more physical, emotional, and informational support than a baby nurse.

You can hire two types of doulas in San Antonio, TX: a birth doula and a postpartum doula. The birth doula is during your pregnancy and through the birth of your child. They provide you with emotional, physical and educational support during your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and for the first few hours after your child is born.

A postpartum doula will support you for the first few weeks after the baby is born. They provide in-home assistance, including teaching you how to take care of your newborn, acting as lactation consultant, and can provide some night nanny services.
