Hi! My name is Summer, and I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I completed my doula training in October 2023 with Doula Trainings International and am currently in the process of certification. In addition to my individual work, I volunteer as a birth doula at Happy Mama Healthy Baby Alliance based in Pasadena.
Women’s health, specifically women’s reproductive and sexual health, has always been an interest of mine. But it wasn’t until college that I learned about maternal health disparities and inequities in the U.S., especially among women of color, and how doulas and their advocacy can greatly improve birth outcomes and experiences. My goals as a doula are to increase clients’ confidence in navigating the birth process, help them trust their bodies through labor and delivery, and facilitate achievement of their ideal birth. I’m eager to support my clients with compassionate care and empower them through education so that they can make informed decisions about their labor and delivery experiences. It really does “take a village,” so I can’t wait to be a part of your birthing team and support you in your journey to motherhood.
