Kim J. | Postpartum Doula in NY

    Practice overview

My personal experience coupled with work experience influenced me to dedicate myself to becoming a full time certified postpartum doula. My background in the healthcare industry and management of a private OB/GYN practice gave me more than 25 years of hands-on skills. I have been trusted by specialists, obstetricians, midwives, doulas, patients and clients and strive to always exceed the expectations placed upon me. My goal is to ensure each client receives the highest quality of care, professional services and personal satisfaction by empowering, supporting and educating families as they begin their journey of becoming parents. For more than 15 years I’ve worked with families providing short or long-term support. I provide both overnight and/or daytime support. I am a certified, insured, CPR & first aid certified, compassionate, non-judgmental, seasoned doula and I am flexible, reliable and responsible.

I highly recommend Kim. She supported us in a post partum doula role when our twins were born and I’ve recommended her to several families in the 5 years we’ve known each other. Kim is a twin mom herself, so she completely understands the demands that come with having twins. While she was there to specifically support our twins, she was also extremely helpful with our “older” two children who were 4 and 2 during her time with our family, giving them lots of attention when they needed it most, as so much attention became focused on their new sisters. Kim helped us so much that I asked her to stay on with us after her initial contract ended. She was a godsend!

I cannot say enough good things about Kim. She was referred to me by a Twin Moms Facebook group. While I was in the hospital with my preemie twins, my toddler was diagnosed with RSV making it impossible for us to go home. I called Kim in tears and she immediately comforted me, and made herself available to help me in my hour of need. She spent two weeks with us in isolation at my mothers and supported me during a very emotional postpartum time, cared for my babies like they were her own, taught me how to care for twins, and supported my attempt at breastfeeding/pumping. Kim was an angel sent from Heaven for us, and I am eternally grateful for her.

Kim was a lifesaver when we had our twin boys. She was nurturing to our entire family and kept our family of
6 running!! She helped us get a restful sleep at night so we could take care of our older 2 children and get them to school. Her help with the laundry and putting the house back together provided us with quality family time. I would highly recommend Kim to anyone who wants a caring doula to assist them and become a vital and loved family member at the end that you don’t want to say goodbye to!

Kim is such a sweet and caring person. When she spoke to me over the phone I had to hire her immediately. She has so much experience with singletons and twins that I felt I needed her ASAP!! My son is a handful now but when he was born it took a while for him to give me a few stretches of sleep and was nursing non stop. Kim came and helped me so much! She took the night watch and I got to sleep!!!! I can’t tell you enough how bad I needed it because I was a walking zombie and was about to quit breastfeeding my son if it wasn’t for Kim. Not only was she encouraging but also very helpful. I felt so safe leaving my son with her that I truly miss having her around now. If you are thinking about Kim being in you team of support you need to make her the leader because I would of been lost if it wasn’t for her. I
      highly recommended her!!

Kim is the best! She was with us from the day we brought our twin boys home until they were 2 1/2. She started as our night time doula and then converted to a full time nanny. She is dependable, knowledgeable, calming, efficient, loving and the best swaddler ever. She got the boys on a regular sleep and feeding schedule very quickly. Kim became part of our family and we would have been lost without her.

I feel lucky to have had Kim’s support as a doula during the first four months of my son’s life. Kim brings a calm, helpful energy to those chaotic newborn days, without overstepping. She is supportive, warm, and an absolute joy to be around. I am so appreciative that our paths crossed and cannot recommend her enough.

Kim came to us when our twins were very young and stayed for several months. She helped us transition as new parents with double the love. Her strong doula background, loving – knowledgeable heart kept us comfortable. She was always safe, compassionate and open.

Kim was a godsend to my family. We first met her when I was a month home from the hospital. I live in NYC, and my aunt from Boston was concerned my wife and I wasn’t getting enough support. I stayed home with our two year old and newborn while my wife worked over 40hrs most weeks.
At the time, I didn’t realize I was going through postpartum.

Kim seamlessly slipped into our family, and I finally got some rest those three nights. My wife was so impressed we signed a 3-month contract the following week. Kim helped me organize what I needed for a two-year-old and a newborn. She would primarily stay overnight but, at times, would remain during the day and join us for outside activities. I was overwhelmed and fearful of taking both kids out on my own. Kim empowered me to be the mom I wanted to be. I started taking the girls alone for special trips or even errands. The biggie was taking them out to eat alone. By the end of the contract, I wasn’t isolated and started meeting with other mom groups in the area.

As a mother of four this is my first experience using a postpartum doula and I can say I wish I had Kim with all my children! I was not sure what to expect since I never had help before, but Kim is making having a newborn so much more enjoyable and allowing me to get some sleep, so I can be my best for my other children. Kim is wonderful with our daughter, she is very communicative, easy going, experienced and loving. I think one of her best qualities is that Kim is there to support the mother, so she does not try to push you to do anything you are not comfortable with and she is very supportive of breastfeeding mothers. You will be very lucky to have Kim!
