As your doula, I’m in your corner for the whole childbearing continuum: listening to your hopes, plans, questions and concerns; equipping you with information so you’re prepared to give birth on your terms; and offering you undivided support in the transformative event of labor and directly postpartum. In this way, doula care helps close the wide gap in maternal health care and drastically improve health outcomes for birthing people. I see doula work as a form of companionship, and my ultimate goal is to co-create an experience where you feel seen and supported for all that you are. I like to tell my clients that there is no way to offend me, and will always be happy to hear you express your needs more clearly. My approach is open-hearted, non-judgmental, and down-to-earth.

Care philosophy

I offer an approach that blends ancestral wisdom and evidence-based care for parents to feel supported, connected, and empowered. I believe that birth (and life!) is a ceremony, and like in all ceremony, we deserve to be witnessed, supported, and empowered. As a doula, my goal is to help birthing people tap into traditional + intuitive wisdom, no matter their

As first time parents, from the moment my husband and I decided to have Flávia as our Doula, we knew we would have someone special to guide us through our childbirth journey. Flávia’s dedication to creating a safe and supportive environment was evident from our initial consultation. She was also attentive to my husband’s feelings, ensuring him how important his role was in all moments. She made herself available to answer all our questions, we had a very informative session in which she provided us tools to deal with the labor/birthing experience, she watched some of my pelvic physical therapy sessions and was constantly checking on me.
She took the time to listen attentively to our preferences, ensuring that our birth plan was tailored to our unique desires.
Flávia’s warm presence in the delivery room helped us navigate the waves of labor with confidence. Her guidance with relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, and pain management methods were incredibly helpful. I also need to mention that her being Brazilian (same as me) and able to speak Portuguese was soothing and very relaxing to me.
A few days after coming home she visited us, offering postpartum support that was both nurturing and practical. She connected me to a lactation consultant in her network and shared other resources.
We feel very grateful for having her presence and support during one of the most significant chapters of our lives and would strongly recommend her services.

I like to say "I like babies, but I LOVE Moms" I'm just a regular Mom that decided starting a family was the next logical step in life. I got pregnant, planned a baby shower, put together a registry and painted a nursery. Then a global pandemic happened and nothing went according to plan. Regardless of what was happening in the world, my healthy and happy baby boy came in May of 2020. The thing about the journey to motherhood is, wether there is a global pandemic or not, it's unpredictable. Having a doula can make all the things that veer off course feel more manageable. I had my second baby in January of 2022 and with the help of my own Doula, I was much more in charge of my birth and postpartum. I knew that being a Doula myself was something that would fill my soul. I love watching women become mothers. I love seeing the way their eyes change when they know exactly what their baby wants. I love the way in which they view the world differently after having a baby. I love the endless feedings, messy houses and sleepless nights, because I know what comes after all that! An AMAZING MOTHER! While you will go through this transformation to Mother with or without me- I would love to be there with you!

Care philosophy

I believe every woman should have the birth they want. Whatever that is- I'm here to do what is in my power to get you your perfect birth. If that means no medication GREAT! If that means epidural in a hospital setting AWESOME! There are no perfect answers when it comes to this question. I do love essential oils, massage and guided meditations.

I am a 25 year old with 13 years of experience care taking for children ages newborn to twelve years of age. I have plenty of experience working in a daycare, and then in a private elementary school once I became a certified K- 5 teacher. I have always been around children all my life and realized that I wanted to be apart of something bigger. While I absolutely love teaching, being apart of an experience that brings in a new breath into the world is what I feel my real calling is. My services include everything surrounding high quality care for mama and family when needed the most.

Care philosophy

To be a source of emotional comfort. I provide services that ease the physical and emotional challenges of childbirth, encouraging the bond between parent(s) and child by advocating and providing a sense of empowerment to soon-to-be parents. My personal experience coupled with work experience influenced me to dedicate myself to becoming a full time certified postpartum doula. My background in the healthcare industry and management of a private OB/GYN practice gave me more than 25 years of hands-on skills. I have been trusted by specialists, obstetricians, midwives, doulas, patients and clients and strive to always exceed the expectations placed upon me. My goal is to ensure each client receives the highest quality of care, professional services and personal satisfaction by empowering, supporting and educating families as they begin their journey of becoming parents. For more than 15 years I’ve worked with families providing short or long-term support. I provide both overnight and/or daytime support. I am a certified, insured, CPR & first aid certified, compassionate, non-judgmental, seasoned doula and I am flexible, reliable and responsible.

Care philosophy

Every family I provided support to will tell you I offer professional, non judgmental, compassionate, knowledgeable support with the flexibility required to accommodate the needs of their family. My philosophy for care has resulted in almost every family extending our time together. What a bittersweet feeling I experience each time I 'graduate' the baby(ies) and their parent(s)!

I have worked with pre and post clients for 10+ years as a fitness coach. My practice is called "One Body One Journey", because I believe in supporting my clients with their personal "journeys". My drive to become a postpartum doula is to help families further with wellness during the 4th trimester. The postpartum period can be overwhelming and I strive to help you feel calm and confident so that you can enjoy the miracle before you. I will provide non-medical/non-judgmental physical and emotional support. I will provide guidance with newborn care, diapering, bathing, feeding and sleep cues. I'm a certified breastfeeding counselor and will support you with lactation, pumping, and provide resources and referrals. I provide a calming encouraging space, so that you feel supported and heard.

Care philosophy

My goal is to guide you through your "journey" into parenthood. Provide you with emotional and physical support in the first weeks postpartum so that you feel confident to start a new chapter in your lives with your little one.

Being someone who is a learner and love educating people with what they what to learn I decied to step deeper into the circle of helping moms before, during and after birth rather then only after birth. Taking classes while working and helping family and friends with questions and tips, I've learnt a lot more. Now I'm opening my door to clients, and hope to be as useful and helpful to them as well. I'm found to be an advocate, and great teacher and hope to help people learn and understand what they want from themselves so they can advocate for themselves when needed.

Care philosophy

I find birth should be a natural and beautiful thing. But believe that mom that is educated and informed can have a great birth any way they choose with support and help the way she wants it.

I believe that you are the expert on your baby. I believe that you are doing it right. I believe your choices deserve to be celebrated. I deeply believe that you deserve empathetic, nourishing care too. I believe with education, dreaming. planning, learning how you want to be cared for, and learning how to communicate that to those who want to help you that the postpartum period can have moments of real joy and celebration even if we are very tired and worn thin. Postpartum should be time of nourishment for everyone as well as baby.I have been a Postpartum Doula since 2018 and a Certified Lactation Counselor since 2019 and have served over 25 families. I have served families in their postpartum journeys both virtually and in person. And offer my lactation support through a wholistic, doula lens. I am very passionate about planning for postpartum prenatally before the family is in the beautiful but wild swirling world of postpartum and offer standalone postpartum planning sessions to talk about what those first few weeks can look like and also how you would like for them to look.

Care philosophy

I offer my care and support through lens of radical non-judgement. You are the expert on your baby. Parenting is hard. Parenting in Postpartum can be really hard. I am here to provide caring reflections to you, information and resources enveloped in empathy and all of the emotional support you need so that you can feel confident in how you are caring for your baby. You deserve empathetic care too.

I have had the pleasure of training and mentoring Katie as a postpartum doula and I can say with confidence that she is an exceptional individual with a genuine passion for supporting new families and truly one of the kindest people I know. She is compassionate, attentive and goes above and beyond to ensure the comfort and well-being of the families she supports. Katie is a quick learner and has a natural ability to connect with families, making them feel comfortable and at ease. She has a strong knowledge base in postpartum care, infant care, and lactation support, which she continually expands through continuous education and experience. Katie is an amazing mother herself and draws on her own experiences to offer practical, relatable advice and support to new parents. She has a deep understanding of the challenges that come with parenthood, and she provides a refreshing perspective on how to navigate these challenges with confidence and grace. Katie consistently demonstrates excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a kind and nurturing demeanor. She is an excellent postpartum doula and lactation consultant and will be a true asset to any family in need of support. I highly recommend Katie to anyone seeking a qualified and compassionate postpartum doula.

Hello! My name is Elise (she/her), and I’m a certified IDI full spectrum doula. I’ve worked with children for many years in my hometown of Toronto but when I moved to New York I decided I wanted to take my skills to the next level. I hired Elise as my birth doula as well as my postpartum doula for daytime/overnight care. She stayed with me the entire time I was giving birth in the hospital. Then she stayed with me overnight at my mother in laws for a week after I gave birth, and a few daytimes at my condo afterwards. I did an induction which was a little scary, but she made sure I knew what was coming and helped me relax so my body could do its thing. She held my hand through most of it. She was very knowledgeable about my baby’s first bath, how to swaddle, how to change a diaper and how to burp. Elise also helped me with my initial latch and encouraged me to continue breastfeeding. She always made sure to keep my condo tidy so when I did have the energy to get up, everything was in order. She cooked a few times for us but my mother in law did most of the cooking. When I started losing hair this year, she gave me a ton of information on what to do so even though she’s not my doula anymore, she still checks in on me and wants to help. She definitely was everything that I expected to get from a doula. I would say I trust her judgement 10/10. She’s reliable, kind, and informative. She was always there for me when I needed her most.

When you hire a birth doula, you add a wealth of knowledge and experience to the incredible journey you are already on. We believe that your birth journey is one that can be enriched with childbirth education, a tuned-ear to the mind and body, and a thorough understanding of your options as women. We recognize and seek to mend the gap in our current maternal health system, and we believe that our clients aim to do the same for themselves.

Care philosophy

The human experience is one that inevitably encounters birth. Whether it is us giving birth or supporting those we love in their birth process; a new soul transforms the community nest. At the moment of conception, a portal opens. We will never know when the portal will close; the way we cannot predict our own completion of life. It’s a powerful state that as women we have absolute authority over.

I'm Alex, a certified full-spectrum doula, member of the NYC Doula Collective, and your guide as you navigate the incredible journey of bringing new life into the world! My journey into doula work was sparked by a profound desire to offer compassionate care and guidance during the birthing process. I'm here to be your companion and advocate, providing a sense of strength and calmness as you navigate this transformative experience. I believe that everyone giving birth should receive the support they deserve. I'm especially passionate about addressing the disparities in perinatal care, working towards creating a more equitable and inclusive birthing environment. When I embark on this journey with families, I use my heart and hands to be a source of unwavering support. I am a continuous presence from the moment we decide to work together, providing emotional support and evidence based information on childbirth, postpartum, and feeding your baby. As you transition into the 4th trimester, I am here to assist you in navigating the joys and challenges of early parenthood. Together, we can create a partnership based on trust, respect, and personalized care. I weave together my passion for travel and the amazing realm of childbirth. Having lived in diverse locales, including the electric cityscape of Shanghai, China, I bring a wealth of worldly experience to my doula practice. My linguistic journey mirrors my global exploration, encompassing beginner-level Mandarin and a growing proficiency in Spanish, French, Portuguese, and the beautiful cadence of my almost mother tongue, Haitian Creole. When I’m not doulaing, you'll find me exploring the world, showering affection on random dogs, crafting heartfelt poems, or nurturing new plant cuttings! I’m looking forward to getting to know you and hopefully joining you on the wild ride that is birth!

That experience convinced me that more support is essential for all parents-- whether it's their first baby or not.

Care philosophy

The New York Times described me as “a modern Mary Poppins: a combination friend, teacher and spirit guide.” My pledge to my clients: no matter how you are building your family or feeding your baby, my goal is to meet you where you are, build your confidence and independence, and work myself out of a job.

Dena has worked in private practice since 2012. She has training in various styles and techniques of acupuncture, massage, and auxiliary therapies. Drawing from these, she customizes treatment to respond to each patient, condition, and presentation. Her areas of focus include psychoemotional concerns, women's health, trans health, fatigue syndromes, and pain management. This informs her doula care. Using what she knows of the body, the body-mind connection, and medicine (eastern and allopathic), she is able to bring informed, supportive care. She incorporates ideas from hypnobirthing and spinning babies (for those who are interested) in order to further support birth.

Care philosophy

Dena is passionate about bodily autonomy; her goal is to help each person navigate their birth with confidence and dignity. She knows that each person will have different priorities, preferences, desires, and needs. She aims to help each person find the experience that would be more empowering to them and to work to support them to embody this experience.

Dena is an outstanding doula. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone searching for a doula. She is thoughtful, caring, a great listener and will stand up for you no matter what kind of birth you envision. She helped my partner and I before the birth of our baby by going through every scenario that could happen and encouraged us to have a plan for every eventuality for the birth and postpartum. Dena also helped educate us and helped us to get on the same page with every aspect of the birth. And most importantly she stuck by our sides through the whole birthing process, even though that meant being in the hospital with us for over 24 hours. Dena is very skilled in acupressure and massage and knew exactly what to do to help me get through my contractions. She also went above and beyond for us by taking some great photos and keeping us engaged in wonderful conversations to pass the time during slower parts. Not only did she do all of that but she’s been a huge help postpartum by checking in regularly and asking other birth professionals for help with any concerns she doesn’t have as much expertise with. Dena is truly such a genuine, talented, helpful person whom I’m so grateful to for helping bring our new baby into the world!

I offer a practice that blends allopathy with naturopathy, as I believe it yields the best results for family as a whole. I offer education, materials, training, education, and light housekeeping as well as newborn care through the night.

Do no harm. Protect and nurture the family unit at all costs. That’s my mantra. I treat each patient’s care as if if were my own, or my kins. Each baby is as important to me as my own child. Education married to empathy creates change we need in the world.

I’m Connie, the doula behind My Doula Connie Care and my focus, curiosity and endless amazement is within the Postpartum Period, Fourth Trimester. I am certifying my training through Doula Trainings International and have certified as a Lactation Counselor through Birthday Presence. My journey into the doula realm began after the birth of my goddaughter. I have had the honor of witnessing many of my dear friends step into day one of parenthood and it is nothing short of miraculous, joyous and humbling. Postpartum is a time of deep change, transformation and courage. It is a period of time with you and your new born that is so special and unique, deserving of compassion and a sensitive approach. In a society that focuses on pregnancy and birth, however, I have seen first hand how isolating, overwhelming and often times scary, the fourth trimester can be. It was heartbreaking to see my strong, capable, worthy friends doubt their instincts as parents and worse, not know who to turn to for answers and guidance. Postpartum is vulnerability defined. It is challenging and every new parent, even second and third time parents struggle. The struggle is common, but it doesn't have to be. As your postpartum doula I am here for you to lean on. I am those extra pair of hands, your emotional support and practical support. I help you where you need help from day to day so you get the time you need to bond with your baby, rest, and restore your body. I am here to offer guidance, validate choices, nourish you with a home cooked meal and provide the skills you need to fully trust your instincts, and feel confident when facing the new challenges of parenthood. There is no going back before postpartum, there is only through. I’m here to not only help you survive postpartum, but thrive.

Care philosophy

My philosophy is your philosophy. I am not here to tell you what I would do or what you should do, but rather compassionately guide you towards the choices and decisions that are best for you, your baby and family because you FEEL they are.

Connie instantly felt like a trusted friend, a part of the family, someone who came into our life with no judgement whatsoever… she so clearly led with the intention of meeting us exactly where we were at. In spite of all the challenges of COVID, Connie showed up for us without fail and without her, my post-partum experience would have been very challenging both physically and emotionally. I wasn’t necessarily sure exactly what a post-partum doula did when we started, but soon learned – what doesn’t she do? From providing nourishing food to eat, to creating calm sanctuary moments within my home, to watching my toddler, to creating space to process the emotional aspects of post-partum, to meditation & massage, to handling piles of laundry on a cold January night when our machine had broken… to any mama or birthing person out there considering Connie, HIRE HER. you’ll be so happy you did – but you’ll also be so glad to have just connected with this amazing person along your post-partum journey.

I provide support, guidance, reassurance, resources, and referrals for your newborn care, infant feeding, and all postpartum needs. The only granola I ascribe to is what I put on my yogurt. I offer comforting, accessible, down to earth, crystal-free care. I provide non-judgmental care -- it is not my place to tell you how to parent. I firmly believe that the best way to support you is to support your parenting choices. I'm there to give you support, stress relief, encouragement, resources, and guidance in order for you to become the expert on your baby.

Care philosophy

Down to earth doulaing means I keep things simple. I’m a "what you see is what you get" kind of person. Someone to take care of you and your needs while you redirect your energy to the constant care of your newborn. I provide all of the care "none of the crystals".

A postpartum doula in New Rochelle, NY is meant to help the entire family and their role is not just limited to the birthing parent and newborn. A doula provides physical and emotional support to parents and siblings, but they also offer information and advice regarding how to feed, bathe, swaddle, and soothe the baby.

They also often help with postpartum depression issues, and are considered child care “consultants” rather than medical professionals. Many postpartum doulas in New Rochelle, NY offer a range of services that can help with parents trying to adjust to a newborn child. These services often include:

  • Sibling care
  • Assist with household chores
  • Parent-baby bonding
  • Physical and emotional recovery
  • Support to parents and extended family

A postpartum doula in New Rochelle, NY can have a lasting positive impact on a family and help them feel more confident about their parenting role and the way that they feed and nurture their baby. They might offer advice regarding feeding, bathing, and parent-baby bonding.

It is important to note that a postpartum doula might offer advice but is not expected to provide medical care of any kind or serve as a replacement to an accredited physician. Postpartum doulas are also not qualified to prescribe medication.

Many new parents want to know about certified postpartum doulas and how exactly they are certified. Since the demand for postpartum doulas has greatly expanded in the last several years, the number of reputable postpartum doula training and certification programs has grown in New Rochelle, NY. Training criteria can differ from program to program, but most follow a similar curriculum which includes core academic curriculum and practical hours and real-life care experience.

One of the most common national postpartum doula training certifications comes from DONA International. A postpartum doula usually receives about 27 hours of practical training before they are a certified postpartum doula.

There are also CAPPA-certified postpartum doulas in New Rochelle, NY, as well. These doulas were certified by the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association, an international organization that certifies doulas and other childbirth educators/professionals.

As a reminder, because postpartum doulas are not trained to be a medical professional and diagnose and treat medical conditions, a certification is not required for them to practice.

As their names suggest, a birth doula’s main priority is to provide support services before, during and in the moments immediately after childbirth. A postpartum doula’s obligations usually begin after the birth, for several weeks or months. In many cases, your birth doula will also be a trained and certified postpartum doula, which can provide a continuity of care that many parents find extremely valuable.

Many parents want to know whether a postpartum doula or a baby nurse would meet their needs and expectations. A baby nurse might be focused on making sure that a baby sleeps or feeds properly, but that might be the extent of their role. A postpartum doula generally offers more holistic services for their clients.

A postpartum doula in New Rochelle, NY is expected to be more involved with the family as a whole. They might remain involved in sibling care or also provide emotional support to the partner as both parents adjust to becoming new parents. This may even include support for older siblings, light housework, and even meal prep. A postpartum doula provides more physical, emotional, and informational support than a baby nurse.

You can hire two types of doulas in New Rochelle, NY: a birth doula and a postpartum doula. The birth doula is during your pregnancy and through the birth of your child. They provide you with emotional, physical and educational support during your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and for the first few hours after your child is born.

A postpartum doula will support you for the first few weeks after the baby is born. They provide in-home assistance, including teaching you how to take care of your newborn, acting as lactation consultant, and can provide some night nanny services.
