Practice overview
I am passionate that marginalized people have just as much education and access to dignified care. I continually train in medical advocacy, consent, trauma informed care, childbirth education, movement based pregnancy and labor. I have taken my 20+ years as a dance teacher, medical advocate, ceremonial space creator, massage therapist, mother, and informal birth support to inform my education as a Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator. I have been through two Doula trainings before I found the right fit for me with Birthing Advocacy Doula Training/BADT, their classes are "socially conscious, culturally appropriate, diverse, and action-oriented. We not only train our students to serve their clients using the best practices available, we also provide them with a wide perspective of disparities, inequalities, policies and rights, and prepare them to be active partners in the movement to change birth and reproductive health culture locally, nationally and globally." I have taken Birth and Disability, Childbirth Education thru them as well. I also take monthly Ehlers Danlos Syndrome/EDS medical advocacy and clinicians training through the Ehlers Danlos Society in order to serve my EDS clients as well as the general EDS population.
