In my role as a mother of five, student, teacher, doula, and community youth advocate, I've witnessed the need for healing within our communities. In response, I've embraced my innate qualities of compassion and a commitment to supporting individuals on their birthing and parenthood journeys. Growing up, I would only hear our socialized woes of childbirth. When I learned of my first pregnancy, I was concerned about how I would endure the pain. Now, having experienced my unique path through childbirth and motherhood, I celebrate the diverse ways individuals navigate pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and nursing. As a Doula, I'm dedicated to amplifying the lesser-shared stories, recognizing the individual meaning and purpose inherent in each birth journey. Embracing the sacredness of the fourth "trimester," I am dedicated to supporting postpartum mothers. I believe this period is as crucial as the preceding three trimesters, deserving of attention, care, and understanding. Drawing from my journey, I've cultivated a deep appreciation for the significance of breastfeeding and the many forms of bottle feeding. I'm grateful for the opportunity to nurse my children and have become an advocate for spreading the "good word" regarding the myriad benefits and options of nursing for both mother and baby. In 2022, I completed a 20-hour Loving Support Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Training, as a recommitment to supporting mothers on their breastfeeding journeys. Looking ahead, I am excited to pursue IBCLC certification, further enhancing my ability to empower and assist mothers in their breastfeeding experiences. In essence, my doula practice is founded on the principles of compassion, personalized support, and the celebration of diverse birthing stories. I am driven by a profound belief in the significance of each individual's journey and a commitment to fostering healing within our communities. As I continue to grow and evolve in my various roles, I remain dedicated to providing unwavering support, education, and advocacy to those embarking on the transformative path of childbirth and motherhood.

Care philosophy

I prioritize empathy, empowerment, and holistic support. Every birth journey is unique, deserving personalized care. I empower clients through informed decision-making, advocate for their choices, and offer continuous, holistic presence. Postpartum, my commitment extends to nurturing a smooth transition into parenthood, ensuring each individual feels supported, empowered, and heard.

My first home birth experience was with Alisha, my fourth son, after experiencing birth in a hospital. Alisha was very supportive, knowledgeable as well made me feel safe and comforted. She knew exactly what do during each stage of the birthing process , including after birth. I gave birth to a 13 pound baby! I could not have done it without Alisha., and there were no medical complications. The best home birth experience.

Hi, I have an extensive background in healthcare. I initially began my healthcare journey as an Autism specialist, which led me to becoming a Phlebotomist, and treating those with chronic illnesses. Although I thoroughly enjoyed both my heart was truly set on uplifting and assisting women in reproductive health. This catapulted my desire to become a Full Spectrum Doula. I attended Doula Training International, where I received my certification. As a Full Spectrum Doula, I am rooted in holistic method’s and combating reproductive injustice. I’ve assisted in prenatal, labor, postpartum, lactation support, adoption, still birth’s and more. https://www.hhagencies.com/amberpriest

Melissa was just what our family needed as we prepared to embark on what would be the biggest blessing of our life so far. I knew what the books said to do to prepare for a new baby but Melissa helped me weed they that information and do what was just right for us. She helped me organize and know what I had and needed, hence, making a registry an easy process. Once our daughter arrived, she was there to assist with the transition without a hitch. She helped me learn to feed our daughter, bathe our daughter, swaddle her, calm her- you name it. She listened to my worries and helped keep up with the household chores while we were soaking in every moment with our new addition. I honestly don’t know how people do it- everyone needs a Melissa.

I believe serving families is my calling. I've been in the early childhood field/ nannying for over six years. I have a passion for caring for families, I tend to go above and beyond when everyone is watching and when no one is watching. I've always checked in on my mothers but I knew my primary focus was taking of the children because that is what I was hired for. I felt I needed to do more, as caregivers, we are here to support and help our families as much as we can BUT I still felt like I needed to do MORE ! It wasn't until I went into the labor room with my sister during her first child, guiding her through every breath and every push--- that moment I knew I wanted to be by a mothers' side guiding them and helping them through every step of the way of their pregnancy journey to watching their child grow up. That's when I learned what a Doula was and began my journey to becoming one back in 2020. My slogan is " Taking Care of You from Infinity and Beyond". I provide Antepartum, Labor, and Postpartum Support plus child birth education virtual classes and placenta encapsulation

Care philosophy

It is important to me that you feel confident, empowered, and heard through your birth experience. I will be your advocate but I will also empower you to be a advocate for yourself, speaking up for what you want and need during your pregnancy journey. I am here to support you and your family as a WHOLE, however you see support, I will try my best to accommodate your wishes.

My name is Nitra and I am a birth / postpartum doula moving as a vessel for love and compassion for those that I serve here in Atlanta, GA. Born in Washington state, I started my training in Seattle. As a natural emotional laborer, I stumbled on the idea of birth work through fortune and was immediately enticed by an undeniable responsibility bigger than myself. I reflected on my own birthing and pregnancy experience during training and discovered my heart pulling passion to protect underrepresented communities. As a shield of protection, I especially like to focus my work on the wellbeing of birthing folks who experience, post traumatic stress, triggers, obstetric violence, systematic racism, microaggressions, misgendering, and any other uncomfortable truths that show up in a birthing environment. I feel it’s especially important to encourage parents to access information and advocate for themselves when they feel the decision making process is out of their hands.

Care philosophy

Personally my belief is that humans are capable of moving with their intuition, which can guide them to form their own ideas for their body and or birth. I am only someone in support of those ideas/ needs, holding space for them, and will advocate/ educate when asked to do so. My care is rooted in protection and nurture.. I move as

The cost of a night nanny can vary based on a variety of factors, including their experience, their services, and their skills or specializations. Overall, the average cost of a night nanny in Brookhaven, GA is $25-40 per hour.

It should be noted that the price of a night nanny in Brookhaven, GA will likely increase if the night nanny is contracted to deal with twins or multiple children. Also, a night nanny’s cost may depend on their level of education, the needs of the newborn, or their exact responsibilities for specific clients.

There are some situations in which your insurance company will help you cover the costs of childcare, and this can obviously help those parents that want their baby’s needs met but might not be as financially secure. Unfortunately, a night nanny usually isn’t covered by insurance.

However, there are some cases where a night nanny is covered by insurance. For example, if your child health issues, parents may want to check to see whether their night nanny costs can be covered by their insurance company since their role is more directly related to your child’s health.

There are many situations in which parents might consider a night nanny in Brookhaven, GA. First, both parents might be working long hours, which means that neither of them have the time to actually bathe/feed/swaddle the child when necessary. Some parents might already rely on friends and family, but realize that they require more help when it comes to their children.

A night nanny is also often most necessary in situations where there are twins or triplets. These parents simply may need extra help to care for these children night after night, and night nannies can help take over some of the workload. For first-time parents, for example, having to care for multiple children for the first time can be overwhelming and stressful. Other parents might also be dealing with mental health issues or postpartum depression.

A night nanny is expected to care for the baby as the parent would if they were awake. Night nannies wash baby bottles, prepare feeds, sterilize pump equipment, and more. Overnight nannies also bathe, feed, diaper, and swaddle the baby, as well. A night nanny can also provide care in situations where the mother might be recovering from a C-section, for example.

In many cases, the process is simple: a parent often hands off their baby to their night nanny so that they can get some much-needed sleep. The night nanny remains at the household until the parent(s) wake up, and then night nannies leave once the parents can take over child care duties.

Every family’s needs are different, but night nannies are expected to burp the baby, bathe the baby, prepare formula, and provide other nanny duties. In summary, overnight nannies in Brookhaven, GA are expected to keep the baby fed, comfortable, clean, rested, and dry.

However, night nannies are not expected to complete household chores that are unrelated to baby care. It’s also important to note that a night nanny in Brookhaven, GA will obviously need to get their rest, as well – so bedding must be provided. A night nanny typically sleeps once the baby is already resting and their nanny chores are complete.

A night nanny can often help parents with emotional support or provide extra help for a sick child. An overnight nanny in Brookhaven, GA can help reduce stress and anxiety for many new parents who might have issues with their work-life balance.

One of the most obvious differentiators in the world of night nannies in Brookhaven, GA is the fact that a night nanny might have specific experience with children of a specific age. Some night nannies might have certifications such as nursing certifications or sleep certifications. Many night nannies are often involved for the first six weeks of childbirth, and some of them remain with parents for months.

For example, some night nannies might have specialized skills for children aged 1-2, while others may be more experienced with children aged 3-4. Obviously, the responsibilities of these night nannies in Brookhaven, GA differ depending on the age of the children that they are supervising.

Some night nannies might be CPR-certified or first-aid certified, which can give more peace of mind to parents who might be concerned about potential sleep or breathing issues. Other overnight nannies might specialize in newborns that have colic or reflux issues, as well.

There are some overnight nannies in Brookhaven, GA that might be open to caring for your child while you are traveling out of town, while other nannies might not be available for that amount of time. There is no certification required to become a night nanny in Brookhaven, GA. However, some night nannies choose to become newborn care specialists, and undergo NCS training.

There are some families that try to compare the concept of a “night nanny” to an “overnight babysitter.” The main difference here involves the level of commitment that a night nanny has to a newborn, versus a babysitter that may only have to provide minimal care to a newborn or child.

A babysitter is often not responsible for actually creating/fixing meals for newborns, washing their baby bottles, or doing their laundry. While a babysitter might monitor a newborn or make sure that they are safe – a nanny might spend time soothing a newborn, swaddling them, or taking care of their meals and clothes. A nanny has more obligations than a babysitter, and are considered more of an “extension” of the parents.
