Practice overview
I'm Brazilian, living in NY, I'm psychologist and I decide to become a Doula after my own experience giving birth as a Black Imigrant, during the pandemic having a home birth. I persue to give the families I support, a positive outcome and a special experience. My main experience is hospital birth and I also have experience on home birth. I had assisted labor with Induction, Single Moms, IVF Moms and Mom with fibroids. Feel free to reach out to Me :)

August 11, 2023 at 1:04 am | Client reviewAs first time parents, from the moment my husband and I decided to have Flávia as our Doula, we knew we would have someone special to guide us through our childbirth journey. Flávia’s dedication to creating a safe and supportive environment was evident from our initial consultation. She was also attentive to my husband’s feelings, ensuring him how important his role was in all moments. She made herself available to answer all our questions, we had a very informative session in which she provided us tools to deal with the labor/birthing experience, she watched some of my pelvic physical therapy sessions and was constantly checking on me.
She took the time to listen attentively to our preferences, ensuring that our birth plan was tailored to our unique desires.
Flávia’s warm presence in the delivery room helped us navigate the waves of labor with confidence. Her guidance with relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, and pain management methods were incredibly helpful. I also need to mention that her being Brazilian (same as me) and able to speak Portuguese was soothing and very relaxing to me.
A few days after coming home she visited us, offering postpartum support that was both nurturing and practical. She connected me to a lactation consultant in her network and shared other resources.
We feel very grateful for having her presence and support during one of the most significant chapters of our lives and would strongly recommend her services.
