I have spent the past 10 years mentoring college students and helping them navigate a significant transition in their lives. I've always been interested in the healthcare field though, and when I learned about doulas I saw a great possibility of continuing to help people navigate transition and providing wholistic support to them. I went through full spectrum doula training last year and am looking forward to serving people as a birth and postpartum doula! I work with a non-profit organization so I am able to provide support to people without cost. All people deserve compassionate care and I look forward to working with anyone who may be interested in doula support but is unable to cover the cost.

Birth Doula Services

I will meet with you 2-3 times prenatally to prepare for your birth. Together we will discuss your birth plan and discuss possible comfort measures and ways to navigate your birth experience. We will also talk through your hopes and fears. I will provide helpful resources and referrals that you may need. I aim to care for you and help you feel prepared in all aspects of your experience (physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual). I will provide continuous support during labor, being by your side to help you feel supported and empowered during birth. We will meet once shortly after your birth to process through your birth and ensure you are prepared for what is next.

Postpartum Doula Services

We will meet before your birth to discuss what services are most needed for you and cater them to your situation and needs. I offer morning, afternoon, and evening shifts to come and be with you postpartum. I can help you care for your newborn, navigate your emotions and all that you are experiencing, and help to provide you space and rest (through light cooking, cleaning, or watching your newborn while you sleep).

Having Emily as my doula was a huge blessing for both my husband and I. When someone is in labor, it’s often hard to know what to say but for Emily she knew exactly what to say. Even the tone of her voice was calming. Having someone there to be an advocate for you is so important. Even if you tell the hospital your birth plan ahead of time, they still try to do it their way. When you’re in labor, it’s hard to speak for yourself and process what’s being said so thank you Emily for being there for us! The greatest part about this whole experience was gaining a new friend.

Emily was such a great help to both me and my husband during the birth of our second child. She is extremely caring, communicative, thorough, and professional. She was such a calming and comforting presence during the birth and worked hard to make it the experience we were looking for. I’d highly recommend her to anyone!!

I am so thankful for Emily’s support during my labor. It was a very long labor yet Emily stayed alert and present. She was constantly encouraging me and asking me what I needed. My labor ended with an emergency (everything is fine now). Emily was very calm during it all. I was grateful to have her reassuring presence beside me!
