My journey to birth work sparked after my first son. Even though my earliest memories are of making formula bottles for my siblings or assisting in diaper changes at the age of five. The real fire wasn't ignited until I had gone through my own pregnancies and births. When I became pregnant, I found myself in an unknown world navigating the typical path of maternity care. Dismissed by my healthcare providers and a hospital stay where I felt belittled, my voice silenced and almost every staff member that attended me were condescending and made me feel inadequate as a first-time mother. Throughout the years, I quickly realized I wasn't the only one who felt like there was a gap in compassionate reproductive care and there must be a better way to birth. Since then, I built Maternal Affinity Birth Services and my life has been all about pregnancy, birth, postpartum support, advocacy and unity ever since.   Adisela was the best thing to happen to our family! I had a rough birth and she came in the night after we were discharged from the hospital. We are first time parents and had no idea what to expect. Adisela educated us on newborn development and even helped our baby sleep through the night. She guided my partner and I while I went through postpartum anxiety and was there for every question and always validated how I was feeling. Women have been uniquely designed to create life in their wombs. Immediately after God joined together man and woman in Eden, He blessed them and told them to "be fruitful and multiply." Bringing forth a new generation is holy work, whether one realizes it or not, and our society's perspective on motherhood and birth has lasting impacts on the generations to come. Everything about feminine design is awe-inspiring - from the way only a woman's pelvis is shaped to guide a baby to the earth, or the way breasts produce such nourishing milk, or how a placenta is a completely new organ that is created to interlay nutrition and so much more to the growing baby. Furthermore, this design influences the woman and baby during the labor and birthing process. Having full confidence in a creator not only applies to our bodies, but also applies to the abundance of resources given to us through herbs and foods to positively impact and prepare our body for labor. Knowing and applying proper nutrition and proper herbal medicine is also a key factor in healthy and successful birth outcomes. As I am aware, I am the ONLY Doctor of Chiropractic who is also a Doula in the Central Florida area. I work in conjunction with the Community Birth and Wellness Center in Eustis, FL.   I am so thankful for Emily’s support during my labor. It was a very long labor yet Emily stayed alert and present. She was constantly encouraging me and asking me what I needed. My labor ended with an emergency (everything is fine now). Emily was very calm during it all. I was grateful to have her reassuring presence beside me!

In the spiritual world, the river represents sweetness, fertility, love, abundance, and all the joys that life has to offer. The ocean represents motherhood, nurturing energy, and our connection to the earth. Humans are made of 70% water, so our connection to water is extremely important. I am a pastor’s wife, mom of 3 and a birth doula. I never knew what a doula was until after my 3rd child. I wasnt sure what I wanted to do in life but I knew birth was a passion. So I scoured the internet and came across Birth Arts International. That is where is did all of my doula training. It took me 2 years to complete. I became a doula because I wish I would have had that support when I was pregnant/in labor and after birth. I love helping families discover how strong they are. Seeing squishy, cute babies are just icing on the cake!

  I hired Valentina for my first birth and I will be hiring her for my second! As a first time mom I was so scared and I really needed someone to guide me and be there for me for the most life changing moment in my life. Valentina went above and beyond to make my birth a beautiful, memorable experience.

I believe women should birth where they feel safe, and with a support team that they feel comfortable with and intimately connected to.
