Hi! My name is Sabrina & I have been a Doula since 2020 helping new mothers and those who have given birth more than once either through vaginal delivery, medicated, unmediated or cesarean. I have expertise working with a variety of clientele. I have a strong desire to help mothers and their families through the delivery process by being there physically, and emotionally. I provide evidence-based information for them and also help them step into the postpartum phase with confidence. This past April I welcomed my little one so I understand what you're going through and all the thoughts that come to mind when you think about childbirth, but don't worry! We'll get through it together, one step at a time.

Care philosophy

As you your doula I will be by your side during active labor & delivery. I am able to offer comfort by using pain-relieving methods like breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, massage, and laboring positions. My mission is to support you in having a positive and secure birth, whether it is natural (without medication), planned (with an epidural) inducement, or surgical (by c-section)

I started my doula journey in 2015. I have had the honor of supporting many families between Florida and Colorado. We moved back to Florida this year(2022) to be present for my in laws who are aging rapidly. I wanted my kiddos to be around for their grandparents last years. So now I am supporting Central Florida exclusively. I became certified in Postpartum care in 2021 and recently became certified in placenta encapsulation. I offer one on one child birth education that is tailored for your needs.I work in a doula team model meaning we will not miss your birth, and you will meet my partner ahead of time. I truly love supporting families and their unique needs during this new chapter of their life. Happy birthing from Brandy at Myfloridadoulas

My goal is to provide nurturing care so you can heal and recover from the birth experience and bond with your baby. Support can look very different to families as needs change. I provide both emotional and physical support. Emotional support can be a listening ear so you feel honored, protected and replenished, providing positive reinforcement & reassurance, providing evidence-based informational support, gentle education and referrals when needed. Physical support can be light meal prep or full meal support, breast or bottle feeding support, newborn care, baby bonding, baby wearing & sleep support, light housekeeping, baby laundry, and sibling care.

Care philosophy

My goal is to take care of the mother so that they can take care of the baby. The 4th trimester is full of joy and excitement but can also feel overwhelming and be a challenging transition time. I would love to help you adjust to your new role by providing physical and emotional support.

Care philosophy

I have spent the past 10 years mentoring college students and helping them navigate a significant transition in their lives. I've always been interested in the healthcare field though, and when I learned about doulas I saw a great possibility of continuing to help people navigate transition and providing wholistic support to them. I went through full spectrum doula training last year and am looking forward to serving people as a birth and postpartum doula! I work with a non-profit organization so I am able to provide support to people without cost. All people deserve compassionate care and I look forward to working with anyone who may be interested in doula support but is unable to cover the cost.

Care philosophy

I believe birth is a hugely transformative time in a person’s life and affects you not just physically but also emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. I desire to journey with you in all these areas, holding space for you so that you are seen, supported, and empowered in each step of the journey. I desire that you will know your own dignity and worth and have the confidence to be who you are.

I am so thankful for Emily’s support during my labor. It was a very long labor yet Emily stayed alert and present. She was constantly encouraging me and asking me what I needed. My labor ended with an emergency (everything is fine now). Emily was very calm during it all. I was grateful to have her reassuring presence beside me!

In the spiritual world, the river represents sweetness, fertility, love, abundance, and all the joys that life has to offer. The ocean represents motherhood, nurturing energy, and our connection to the earth. Humans are made of 70% water, so our connection to water is extremely important. Without water, there is no life force on earth, so here in our business, we represent all that life encompasses, from fertility and the moment of conception to parenthood and knowledge. We also support water births and Dani is studying water births, their positive effects on the birthing process, and connecting clients to their divine energies through the use of water. Lastly, Dani's guardian angels are well-known ocean and river guardians. As a tribute to them, the company is named Two Waters.

Care philosophy

Two Waters advocates for clients on a micro, mezzo, and macro level, empowering them to choose what is best for them and their baby.

I am a pastor’s wife, mom of 3 and a birth doula. I never knew what a doula was until after my 3rd child. I wasnt sure what I wanted to do in life but I knew birth was a passion. So I scoured the internet and came across Birth Arts International. That is where is did all of my doula training. It took me 2 years to complete. I became a doula because I wish I would have had that support when I was pregnant/in labor and after birth. I love helping families discover how strong they are. Seeing squishy, cute babies are just icing on the cake!

Care philosophy

I believe birth/postpartum is a sacred time in a woman’s life and she deserves all the support and love she can get. I want to be the support to women that I so desperately needed and didn’t have in my pregnancies/births.

I am a wife and the mother of 6 beautiful children. My family is the most important part of my life. Nurturing relationships with those most significant people in my life is my top priority. This is why I only take on 2-3 clients a month. I want to be able to devote the necessary energy you deserve as a client. Once you sign with me, I am available by phone or text any time. I want to develop a strong relationship of trust with you so that I can best support you and your growing family. Nurturing the body and soul with good nutrition, yoga and exercise, massage and teaching relaxation techniques that will help you throughout pregnancy and labor are of utmost importance to me. I have always been passionate about pregnancy, birth and empowering women in their journey. My grandfather was an OBGYN and my mother was an herbalist so I grew up with the perfect blend of medical and holistic care. Birthwork has been my natural calling. I am a DONA trained doula as well as a Childbirth Educator. My husband Joseph and I provide classes for couples at The Educated Mama as well as private in-home classes. I offer both labor/birth support as well as postpartum services including placenta encapsulation and tinctures. I have also taken a Birth Assistant training course and currently work as a midwife assistant for local birth centers and home birth midwives.

I believe women should birth where they feel safe, and with a support team that they feel comfortable with and intimately connected to. I believe our modalities of healing and heath care need to be in alignment with our belief system, to be effective. I respect the inherent shift in all of these functioning parts as we move through and evolve in life and subsequent birthing experiences. Knowing the support we call into one birth may look strikingly different than what we call into the next, or the next. My passion is assisting people in cultivating their unique pregnancy, birth and postpartum plan, rooted in autonomy, given the financial resources available to them. I will provide options, information, resources and emotional support for all pregnancy outcomes. Maternal health is foundational to humanity's health. Postpartum care is currently a missing piece of well-woman care and is a NECESSITY not a luxury. I am available to support you in this time with a closing ceremony to honor your transition into motherhood. I believe nutrition is fundamental to our health and healing, especially in the postpartum period. I can provide meal planning and preparation, household clean up, lactation support and sibling care so you can focus on snuggling with your baby and partner.

Care philosophy

Every birth is a transformation, a rite of passage, that is profoundly connected to everything that comes after, for generations. Just as so, all of your prior rites of passage and influences will affect what you bring into your birth experience; including your own birth, personal and generational traumas, family stories, cultural stories, your relationship with your menstrual cycle and your body.

Postpartum Doula Services: FAQs

For most parents, the transition into early parenthood is hard. Postpartum doulas in Orlando, FL offer all sorts of practical, physical, informational and emotional support to new parents. Postpartum doulas in Orlando, FL offer a wide range of after-birth support services, including:

  3. Offering advice for baby soothing, diapering and bathing

Some parents require additional physical and emotional support due to their specific situation, lack of family support, or their particular lifestyle. A postpartum doula positively affects the entire family, as many postpartum doulas are involved in sibling care, housework chores, and educating clients on childcare information/techniques.

To find a postpartum doula in Orlando, FL, most parents recommend creating a job post on Meela and having uniquely qualified postpartum doulas near you (in your budget) reach out to you through the Meela app.

To find a postpartum doula, you can also browse the available postpartum doulas near you in Orlando, FL and read reviews, compare pricing, experience and fit. Send the postpartum doulas you are interested in a message, introducing yourself and setting up an interview. We recommend reaching out to and interviewing at least three postpartum doulas before hiring a postpartum doula near you. After interviewing, hire the most qualified postpartum doula near you and start getting the care you deserve.

While the cost of a postpartum doula can vary based on experience and the services offered, the average cost of a postpartum doula in Orlando, FL is $32 per hour, but typically ranges from $25 to $38 per hour. These costs are based on a representative group of 35 postpartum doulas surveyed by Meela in the Orlando area. The average cost of a postpartum doula in Orlando, FL is about the same as the average cost of a postpartum doula in the state of Florida, which is $32 per hour.

To put this in further context, the cost of a postpartum doula in Orlando, FL is lower than the U.S. national average cost of a postpartum doula, which is $37 per hour.

When hiring a postpartum doula in Orlando, FL, you and your doula will discuss and agree upon a fee structure, and your postpartum doula will send you itemized invoices through Meela, which you can pay securely through the app.

A postpartum doula in Orlando, FL is meant to help the entire family and their role is not just limited to the birthing parent and newborn. A doula provides physical and emotional support to parents and siblings, but they also offer information and advice regarding how to feed, bathe, swaddle, and soothe the baby.

They also often help with postpartum depression issues, and are considered child care “consultants” rather than medical professionals. Many postpartum doulas in Orlando, FL offer a range of services that can help with parents trying to adjust to a newborn child. These services often include:

  • Sibling care
  • Assist with household chores
  • Parent-baby bonding
  • Physical and emotional recovery
  • Support to parents and extended family

A postpartum doula in Orlando, FL can have a lasting positive impact on a family and help them feel more confident about their parenting role and the way that they feed and nurture their baby. They might offer advice regarding feeding, bathing, and parent-baby bonding.

It is important to note that a postpartum doula might offer advice but is not expected to provide medical care of any kind or serve as a replacement to an accredited physician. Postpartum doulas are also not qualified to prescribe medication.

Many new parents want to know about certified postpartum doulas and how exactly they are certified. Since the demand for postpartum doulas has greatly expanded in the last several years, the number of reputable postpartum doula training and certification programs has grown in Orlando, FL. Training criteria can differ from program to program, but most follow a similar curriculum which includes core academic curriculum and practical hours and real-life care experience.

One of the most common national postpartum doula training certifications comes from DONA International. A postpartum doula usually receives about 27 hours of practical training before they are a certified postpartum doula.

There are also CAPPA-certified postpartum doulas in Orlando, FL, as well. These doulas were certified by the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association, an international organization that certifies doulas and other childbirth educators/professionals.

As a reminder, because postpartum doulas are not trained to be a medical professional and diagnose and treat medical conditions, a certification is not required for them to practice.

As their names suggest, a birth doula’s main priority is to provide support services before, during and in the moments immediately after childbirth. A postpartum doula’s obligations usually begin after the birth, for several weeks or months. In many cases, your birth doula will also be a trained and certified postpartum doula, which can provide a continuity of care that many parents find extremely valuable.

Many parents want to know whether a postpartum doula or a baby nurse would meet their needs and expectations. A baby nurse might be focused on making sure that a baby sleeps or feeds properly, but that might be the extent of their role. A postpartum doula generally offers more holistic services for their clients.

A postpartum doula in Orlando, FL is expected to be more involved with the family as a whole. They might remain involved in sibling care or also provide emotional support to the partner as both parents adjust to becoming new parents. This may even include support for older siblings, light housework, and even meal prep. A postpartum doula provides more physical, emotional, and informational support than a baby nurse.

You can hire two types of doulas in Orlando, FL: a birth doula and a postpartum doula. The birth doula is during your pregnancy and through the birth of your child. They provide you with emotional, physical and educational support during your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and for the first few hours after your child is born.

A postpartum doula will support you for the first few weeks after the baby is born. They provide in-home assistance, including teaching you how to take care of your newborn, acting as lactation consultant, and can provide some night nanny services.
