In my role as a mother of five, student, teacher, doula, and community youth advocate, I've witnessed the need for healing within our communities. In response, I've embraced my innate qualities of compassion and a commitment to supporting individuals on their birthing and parenthood journeys. Growing up, I would only hear our socialized woes of childbirth. When I learned of my first pregnancy, I was concerned about how I would endure the pain. Now, having experienced my unique path through childbirth and motherhood, I celebrate the diverse ways individuals navigate pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and nursing. As a Doula, I'm dedicated to amplifying the lesser-shared stories, recognizing the individual meaning and purpose inherent in each birth journey. Embracing the sacredness of the fourth "trimester," I am dedicated to supporting postpartum mothers. I believe this period is as crucial as the preceding three trimesters, deserving of attention, care, and understanding. Drawing from my journey, I've cultivated a deep appreciation for the significance of breastfeeding and the many forms of bottle feeding. I'm grateful for the opportunity to nurse my children and have become an advocate for spreading the "good word" regarding the myriad benefits and options of nursing for both mother and baby. In 2022, I completed a 20-hour Loving Support Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Training, as a recommitment to supporting mothers on their breastfeeding journeys. Looking ahead, I am excited to pursue IBCLC certification, further enhancing my ability to empower and assist mothers in their breastfeeding experiences. In essence, my doula practice is founded on the principles of compassion, personalized support, and the celebration of diverse birthing stories. Alisha was very supportive, knowledgeable as well made me feel safe and comforted. She knew exactly what do during each stage of the birthing process , including after birth. I gave birth to a 13 pound baby! I could not have done it without Alisha., and there were no medical complications. The best home birth experience.

Hello! I'm Cara, a wife and a mother to 4. I started my path to birth services in 2018 when I registered to become a postpartum doula, shortly after I added childbirth educator and birth doula. I have always loved on babies and children (not just my own) and even walked with my best friend, as a 15 year old, through her pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I had no idea at that age that I would someday find out that I could pursue a career in doing just that. I myself was a single mother at 19, and had my youngest 6 years later. Their births are why I am so passionate now about mothers learning and understanding their rights in the most vulnerable time of their lives. I want you to have the birth that you desire, or as close as it can be. Whether that birth is at home or birth center, medicated or unmedicated in a hospital, induction or cesarean.

She had an incredibly calming and encouraging presence. I have been a childbirth educator and doula with International Childbirth Education Association since 2018. I also completed an advanced certification in perinatal mental health with Postpartum Support International. I have up to date CPR certification with American Heart Association. As a holistic nutritionist and birth doula, I help women gain clarity and shed overwhelm through pre-conception, pregnancy, and childbirth.
