Doting Doula Birth Services

    Practice overview

Hello! I'm Cara, a wife and a mother to 4. I started my path to birth services in 2018 when I registered to become a postpartum doula, shortly after I added childbirth educator and birth doula. I have always loved on babies and children (not just my own) and even walked with my best friend, as a 15 year old, through her pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I had no idea at that age that I would someday find out that I could pursue a career in doing just that. I myself was a single mother at 19, and had my youngest 6 years later. Their births are why I am so passionate now about mothers learning and understanding their rights in the most vulnerable time of their lives. I want you to have the birth that you desire, or as close as it can be. Whether that birth is at home or birth center, medicated or unmedicated in a hospital, induction or cesarean.

From the moment my interaction with Cara began, I knew her heart. She is a fierce servant and genuinely cares for not only babies but mamas too. She took the time to listen to my needs, wants, fears, and expectations before using that information to tailor my sessions with her to meet my birth experience dreams. She is so knowledgable about a variety of births and options mamas have within those births. She was not pushy, over-bearing or unsympathetic to what I wanted. She provided me with tools and information I used to advocate for myself with my provider. She gave me comfort and a listening ear. She was a voice of reason when my emotions were running wild. Her prenatal prep and coaching for birth, I believe, gave me a birthing experience I thought I might never have again and honestly better than I imagined it could be. I would 100% have Cara by my side for another pregnancy. And as if her prenatal and birthing support were not enough, her postpartum care was above expectations. She came and cooked her amazing biscuits for my family, checked on me and loved on my baby. She even typed up my entire birth story for me to have. You will not regret choosing Cara as your doula.

The amount of support I received from Cara was more than I ever expected. From our first visit until the middle of the night phone call to say I was in labor, she educated me on my options to ensure I had the birth I wanted. Her dedication to my plan and the comfort I felt with her far exceeded my expectations. She was attentive to me when I needed her the most and was a great coach during my labor. My husband praised her with educating him on what he could do for me during our labor and delivery, as well as, the lead up to it. Simply put, she is AMAZING and I can’t recommend her services enough.

I felt very comfortable with Cara from the day I met her. She is very knowledgeable in comfort measures before and during labor and shared many helpful resources. But more than this, she is just very caring and selfless and will be your biggest cheerleader in some of your most challenging times. Her energy and also calmness really helped me get through a difficult labor. Thank you, Cara!

I believe Cara to be so well suited to being a doula! She is always educating herself with current and innovative ways to serve mamas, both during pregnancy and labor/delivery as well as post partum. She is truly an advocate for her clients by educating them to find their voice and by offering her continuous support for all stages of pregnancy. She portrays a servant’s heart in all areas of her life which only makes her a wonderful doula. I would use her as my doula if I could go back in time!

Cara was a God send to me and my family. Throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum she encouraged, educated and empowered me. She knew when to step up and actively support me, and when to take a back seat so that I could use all the tools she’d given me throughout my journey. She helped my family feel empowered to help me through my birth as well. Her passion, knowledge, and grace make her an asset to any growing family. I truly can’t say enough about Cara and how she has touched my life. I literally tell everyone about her!

I was blessed to have Cara at my birth to support me and my husband, and help me stay as close to my birth plan as possible. She had an incredibly calming and encouraging presence. She also met with us a few times beforehand to learn about us and my goals for the birth, as well as educate my husband and I on labor strategies. Highly recommend having Cara on your team!
