In my personal and professional experience I have come across many families who have had less than ideal situations during pregnancy and birth. I hear about the lack of information and support from the providers side which has encouraged me to become a doula. I know with having knowledge and support birth outcomes can turn into more positive experiences. Part of my practice is to include the family as a whole by looking at the roles, expectations and wants of each person. I whole heartedly feel that mental health and where someone is at in their head impacts their experience. I work with my clients to feel understood and heard.
