My family has always been very supportive of my career, and it was actually my mother who advised me to take a doula class after I graduated. I began working as a medical assistant at an OB-GYN clinic where I learned so much about patient care that I still use today but I wanted to help my patients more than my scope of practice would allow. When my mother saw how much I was missing she advised me to begin my journey of becoming a doula and it has been the most wonderful journey of my life.
