Practice overview
My name is Emily and I am the birth doula and owner behind Radiant Birth And Wellness. From a young age I had always wanted to be an OB/GYN, helping to empower women with their health and improve trauma-informed care. Throughout life’s twists and turns, I found that my heart was being pulled in a direction longing for deeper emotional connections that would be lost as a physician. So, I found myself working in perinatal research, asking women to donate their placentas for science. It was through this experience that I fell into doula work, already coaching women through contractions and sharing information in between talking about research. In the summer of 2022, I took my doula training with DONA international and decided to dive head first into my birth doula business. Now instead of interrupting labor for science, I protect this space merging my passion for medicine, human connection, and my desire to impact families in meaningful ways. As a birth doula, I pull from my experiences as an EMT, medical advocate, researcher, and empath. I use tools such as hypnobirthing, massage, movement, aromatherapy, and much more to support you through labor and achieve the birth you desire. Working with me you will feel confident, prepared, and filled with joy to experience birth in all its magical and unpredictable ways. I am here for you and your partner, encouraging them, advocating for you both, and making sure you are at the center of every decision. My hope is that you feel radiant knowing that you are surrounded with love, compassion, and knowledgeable support.

April 20, 2023 at 1:34 am | Client reviewMy husband and I decided to hire a doula given it was my first pregnancy and since our family lives out of town. We knew there were no guarantees that our family could be there when I went into labor and we wanted some additional support. My husband was not sure that a doula was needed, but ultimately we hired Emily. Leading up to labor and delivery, Emily checked in with me frequently to see if I needed anything and to see how I was feeling. If I had a question she didn’t know the answer to, she went to find it and got back to me quickly. During labor, Emily showed up with snacks and fully prepared. Emily was empathetic, supportive, and a great listener. I couldn’t have done it without her! My husband made several comments following labor and delivery about how happy he was that she was there. Emily also took photos during labor and delivery that my husband and I wouldn’t have been able to capture. In the weeks following my baby’s birth, Emily continued to reach out to me to see how things were going and has been an ongoing support and resource for our family. I would recommend her to anyone!

April 20, 2023 at 1:37 am | Client reviewI had always dreamed of an unmedicated birth but still wanted to be in a hospital setting to help ease anxiety about the unknown. Emily fully supported this desire and gave me the confidence to advocate for my birth plan and make it a reality! As soon as I started feeling contractions Emily was there. She was extremely responsive and super helpful when we needed assistance navigating the first challenge-determining when to go to the hospital. Once there my husband and I remained in close contact with her about my progress. She helped us talk through some tough decisions after it was recommended we go home to continue laboring until I was further along. Fortunately, I did not end up having to leave the hospital and Emily arrived shortly after when my contractions got more intense. She came prepared with essential oils, snacks, pillows, and more. As soon as she entered the room my husband and I felt comforted and energized through her kindness and positivity. She has a way of reading the emotion in the room and knowing how to best work with it. As the laboring became more intense, her expertise shined. She was able to recommend different positions utilizing things like the birthing ball, rebozo technique, and the bath tub. She helped ease any worries that arose and she was there every step of the way as we welcomed our baby boy into the world! We can’t thank her enough for her encouragement, positivity, and care! We could not have done it without her.
