Cherish P. | Doula in Houston, TX

Sacred Mother Earth

    Practice overview

Blessings Beautiful Birthing Sovereigns, My name is Cherish Peacewalker and I have been assisting families and single birthers for over 15 years now. I started off as a Licensed Massage Therapist in Houston, Tx and shortly after became a Certified Doula through Memorial Hermann Hospital. After my sister asked me to massage her during her labor process, I knew this was what I was meant to do. The miracle that I saw that day changed my life forever. About 5 years later I moved to the Bay Area, California where I got Certified again in Massage as well as becoming a Birth and Postpartum Doula at Cornerstone Doula Trainings in San Francisco. They specialize in working with the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities and this was something that was also very important to me. Since then I have studied and worked with indigenous elders from many different backgrounds including India, Native American Elders, Mexico, Asia and more. It is important to me to meet people where they are and respect all walks of life because no two people are made the same, just like each of these beautiful babies. I offer Full Spectrum Doula care from start to finish with packages that include but are not limited to; Massage, Birth & Postpartum Doula, In Home Support, Belly & Bone Binding, Yoni Steaming, Holistic Pelvic Care, Birth Prep Coaching and Classes.

I would be happy to set up a FREE consultation and send you a FREE e-book to help you get on your way and make the best decision for one of the most important times in your life. You deserve to be seen, heard and experienced with compassion and care.

    Care philosophy

I believe a peaceful and powerful birth is possible for every birthing person and it starts on the inside, literally and figuratively. As a Somatic Birth Worker and Touch Therapist I've learned that birthing does start from within and it's all about unwinding the trauma that's been repressed BEFORE we give birth. When we feel supported, held and heard we have the power & potential to do anything!

I had never experienced body work until I met Cherish Peacewalker. Her healing hands were like nothing I had ever experienced before. Each session was so different and her ability to tune into what my body needed at different stages of my post natal care was beyond impressive. Cherish has a unique gift and she will be an incredible addition to any community she’s involved in.

I have the honor of being Cherish’s 1st doula client! I had an all-natural, no epidural, vaginal delivery and there’s no way I would have made it through without her and my husband. A few weeks before I went into labor we visited with a Lamaze labor coach to teach us breathing treatments. Cherish was an excellent coach and encouraged me to focus on what my body was designed to do. She made me feel very confident and relaxed. Although it was her first doula experience, her expertise in massage therapy was a major benefit. I was also experiencing back labor and she knew exactly how to massage my back (with a tennis ball) to alleviate pressure. Since then (in 2009) Cherish has helped many more women in their most precious moment of delivering healthy beautiful babies and went on to receive many more certifications in this field. I give her the highest ratings and wish her the very best in her career.

Cherish was my Doula for my first born, which for me was a new experience and a little daunting. When I met Cherish I knew right away that I wanted her to be my doula her energy was so calming and she was so knowledgeable and had a true passion for helping mothers feel prepared and comfortable with the birthing journey ahead. Because of Cherish I felt confident and secure and had an amazing birthing experience and I couldnt recommend her more.

My birthing experience would never have been the same without Cherish. Cherish coached me throughout pregnancy and Even prepared healthy recipes that prepared me for labor. My delivery was scheduled during the height of the pandemic and Thanks to her doula license, she was able to bring her support into the delivery room at a time when only 2 family members were allowed. Because of suspected complications, we decided to birth in the hospital. She created the mood in the room with plants and calming music that made me feel like I was out in nature. Her post partum support was more vital than I could have imagined. At the time she offered belly binding and postpartum meals. My beautiful son deserved nothing less. I am forever grateful for Cherish being my doula.
