Practice overview
Birth is not only the birth of a child, but also, the birth of a parent. I believe in the power of birthing people. I believe that all births are valid, unique and no matter the type of birth you are seeking, you should feel informed, supported, and confident in your choices.
I have always loved pregnant women and babies for as long as I can remember. As a child, I always wanted to hold everybody’s baby. As an adult, I love to hold the woman that carried the baby. I am pretty sure this was one of the reasons I became a surrogate mom, twice to be exact. It was truly an honor to be instrumental in assisting two families with bringing their beautiful babies into the world. Throughout my surrogate journeys I learned the power of time, as well as how to create a space which allowed me to be present in the moment, allow my feelings to flow, to not be ashamed of vulnerability, and to allow others to assist me when I needed it most. As a result of this, I have learned with my own birth clients to create space to allow mom time, time to labor as she chooses to, move in a way that she deems most comfortable, and birth how she needs too. I am passionate about supporting women in entrusting their bodies, centering their healing, prioritizing their mental health and welcoming the new version of themselves. Another thing I have become very passionate about is Dads. I like to help dads recognize their power and presence throughout the pregnancy and birth experience. When I am not doing birth work I am pretty low key, I like spending time with family, being silly with my kids, working out, doing yoga, going for walks in nature, reading books, long baths and being a new plant mom.

March 26, 2023 at 2:32 am | Peer reviewWhat’s inspiring the most about is that Chaka has a hunger for continuing education. It’s seems every month she is expanding her knowledge about birth work . She never puts herself above professional development and for that reason I would trust her with my baby and body as a doula. Lastly I want to speak to her compassion and care. She has a way of gently redirecting and cautioning you to make educated decisions that you would be comfortable with long term and I appreciate her for that. I highly recommend Chaka!

March 31, 2023 at 12:57 am | Client reviewChaka and me got together at the end of my pregnancy, but from the moment we first talked she was exactly what I wanted and needed. Chaka was very informative, encouraging, supportive and loving!! She helped not only me but dad as well, giving us tips on how to handle labor and contractions (or waves/surges as she calls them). She also gave hands on help to help relax the body. I could honestly go on and on about how wonderful Chaka is but I feel like it’s something you should experience yourself!!! If you’re considering Chaka, don’t hesitate.

March 31, 2023 at 1:00 am | Client reviewChaka simply amazing as my doula. She made both my husband and I very comfortable. Both her knowledge and guidance were extremely helpful in the days leading up to the birth. She coached me on how to breathe, the best positions to help me feel most comfortable and also how to get out of my own head. During labor and delivery she was just phenomenal. It was just as having another family member with me. My husband and I are extremely grateful for her! Best doula ever!

April 3, 2023 at 2:45 pm | Client reviewChaka’s calm and inviting nature made me feel like I were in good hands and surely I was. She provided genuine support throughout my pregnancy. Chaka helped me to navigate through the normal woes of pregnancy while also helping me process some personal trauma I was dealing with. When I had questions I could call Chaka for answers and reassurance. She always validated my questions or concerns. When I was having a hard time whether physically or emotionally I could call her for support and validation. Chaka puts the Do in doula. She is amazing, and you can tell that she is made for birth work. She helped me feel confident in birthing my son. She has been a huge support to me and my partner throughout our pregnancy and postpartum journey. She provided tools for pain management for my “planned” unmedicated birth. She helped me prepare mentally for a plan B in case my initial plan didn’t go how I imagined (which it didn’t). She was also there to support me when I ultimately had to have a cesarean to birth my son. She has a wealth of knowledge, but is not afraid to admit when she doesn’t know something, and seek answers to provide to you. Chaka truly goes the extra mile for her clients to ensure they receive exemplary care through pregnancy, birth, postpartum and beyond. If you want a doula who is genuinely invested in your health, isn’t afraid to help you advocate, and provides the nurturing spirit you need along your birthing journey, then please choose Chaka Parker!
