I had the pleasure of having Aspen as my doula for the birth of our son. She was a kind, calming presence in the room and provided a safe space to express all the emotions that come with the labor and delivery process. I have moderate mobility difficulties and she provided excellent physical support when I needed to reposition and move around. She brought a fan to cool me down and reminded me to eat my snacks and drink water as needed to keep up my strength for my long labor. (As instructed by my medical care team) She encouraged me when I needed it but was not overwhelming. She has thorough intake paperwork to get to know who you are, what you’re looking for and how to best support you as an individual. I felt that she delivered exactly the kind of support that I needed. Overall excellent experience, I highly recommend her!

Wow! I honestly believe I would not have been able to have a Vbac without Amina! She EMPOWERED me. I took a birthing class with her, and then I requested her as a Doula! She did NOT disappoint. She was encouraging, calm, reliable, informative- and during my labor, she helped call me down and guide me the entire time. She was right by my side bringing me sips of water and snacks. My husband and I credit her completely. During my labor, my husband forgot everything we practiced, haha. But Amina saved the day. She’s one of my favorite people in the world. She’s wise, non judgmental, just absolutely wonderful. I am so grateful. She was reliable to show up and not wait till the last minute to come to me during my labor. I’m so grateful for her kindness and responsiveness. She offered sliding scale (because we literally could not have hired anyone without it). She was very very good to us. THANK YOU AMINA for making my VBAC possible! You are forever etched into my memories, and have changed the course of my birthing history forever. Thank you Doesn’t cover it. We LOVE Amina!

Jessica was our birth doula, and she also helped us with our newborn baby postpartum. We feel very lucky to have had her with us on this journey. From the first interviews and in person prenatal visits, to her supporting us in the hosipital as well as in our home, we have always felt we could trust her and lean on her experience. We had an induction on our due date and were planning to use epidural as pain management in late labor. It was a real scare when epidural wasn’t really working for me for at least a couple of hours (which in labor time felt like forever). Jessica’s presence really calmed us down, and with her help I was able to navigate the pain and panic until medication finally kicked in. Our birth experience was less stressful with her being there, and we also appreciated her staying a while after our baby was born to make sure we were comfortable and got everything we needed.

We also had Jessica as a postpartum doula for a few weeks, and she was so good with our baby girl and made it possible for me to go out and grab a coffee and have some selfcare time every now and then. Our daughter loves the reading, walks, and playtime they had together. AND, she gives great massages! We are so glad we found Jessica and we are thankful for all the help and support she gave us.

Holistic care that celebrates the transformative journey of matrescence. You can get support throughout birth, healing, and breastfeeding.

Care philosophy

I embrace matrescence, respect autonomy and innate maternal intuition, and support normal physiological birth at home. Lactation care involves listening to the mother, helping identify and meet feeding goals, give counseling and support, and work through various breastfeeding related issues that may afflict mother and baby. Brushing off a mothers concerns or inciting guilt are unacceptable.

In the 12 years I have been a birth worker, my doula bag has become quite small. I have learned through experience, the families I have supported and the providers I have been a team player with, that there are only a few items really needed to support your birth preferences. Knowledge in the physiology of hormones, movement, space, emotions and breath. Experience in medical interventions and helping you to have productive conversations with your providers when they are needed, skill in comfort measures and massage (my hands are so strong:), and authentic words of encouragement, praise, and affirmation. I am best fit for a person who is wanting no or low interventions (in or out of the hospital): a VBAC or a free birth. My goal is to empower you and your labor partner so you can both be present in the event and have your best birth experience possible.

Care philosophy

Getting baby Earth side can be long, hard, powerful... and you can do it! I believe there is no right way to birth your baby. My philosophy is "Every pregnant person has the right to full informed consent, evidence based information, access to preferred model of care and support in decisions without cohesion or judgment."

From the moment we first spoke to Ryah we knew that she was the perfect fit as our Doula – she is incredibly warm, has such an extensive background, and food is one of her love languages! We had two prenatal appointments in which we discussed our birth preferences, learned stretches to do leading up to my due date, and practiced different techniques to try during early labor. She was also always available to reach via text or phone throughout my pregnancy.

Ryah was the most crucial person in helping my husband and I bring our baby earth side. She guided me through each contraction and continuously helped me stay centered and find my breath. She made suggestions of positions to try based on where the baby was to keep things progressing. She made sure my husband played an integral part in the experience and conveyed our birth preferences to the nursing staff. I ended up having an unmedicated birth, and I know this was only possible because she was there with me.

Once my baby was born, she helped him latch and stayed by my side to ensure that everything was okay. Since being home we’ve had a phone and in-person chat in which we processed my labor experience, and she made sure we were set up for the first few weeks postpartum. I am grateful that she is available throughout the 4th trimester! Aside from providing immeasurable support, she also took photos and video during labor which is the most special thing to look back on.

We are forever grateful to have found Ryah!

With the traumatic birth of my son, I became intimately familiar with how American healthcare fails people with the capacity for pregnancy. Having lacked support or education of any kind during the process, I now seek to guide clients through a far more positive experience, one that aligns with both the wants of the birthing-person as well as the health of parent and child. I am currently enrolled in Whole Body Pregnancy Childbirth Educator Training, as well as Childbirth Professionals International Doula Training. Having prior experience in doula work and successful births under my belt, I plan to continue my education to grow and better their understanding of the field.

Care philosophy

I believe birth is sacred, a gift given by our ancestors that deserves the utmost care and respect. My focus is to serve those that are the most vulnerable to the harm caused by our medical system, which includes people of the global majority, queer and trans parents, and disabled parents. I have a trans son, and another son born to a trans father. Families are diverse. Birth is no different.

Sage was my primary support while giving birth to my son. As a transman, the concept of giving birth in a traditional hospital setting was honestly kind of terrifying. Sage helped to keep me comfortable, keep labor going, and keep the staff from misgendering or dead naming me. I don’t plan to have any more kids, but if I do, I hope she’s there.

I was a postpartum doula before I knew there was a name for it. As a teenager, when a neighbor or older sibling had a baby, my mother would send me over to help. I washed laundry and diapers, cooked meals, entertained the older siblings, did small household tasks and held/wore the newborn when needed. I also learned to prepare herbs to support the postpartum period. Being a middle child among 5 siblings, I had many opportunities to become skilled at supporting new families and babies. I was 2 years old when I witnessed my first birth. After the birth of my first child in 2001, I completed the birth doula training through DONA in San Antonio, Texas. I unexpectedly found myself expecting again and we moved our little family to Hawaii to be closer to my family and run a family business. I found a few opportunities to provide doula support at births in Hawaii as well. Once my youngest child entered school full-time, I took the postpartum doula training at The Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations in Kenmore, Washington. Thus began my career with a name. I am a postpartum doula. I grew up in many cities in the United States and some farms as well. I also lived in India and Canada as a child. At 18, I spent an extended amount of time traveling and revisiting places from my childhood as well as making new friends and connections around the world. After I completed my studies in International Relations at Mills College for Women in Oakland, CA, I spent some time as a music production manager in Los Angeles and then moved to Texas, where I began my small family. I moved to Seattle, about 20 years ago, from a remote area of the Big Island of Hawaii. Through my unique upbringing and curiosity and studies, I have acquired knowledge of different cultures and communities which helps me connect with the families I currently serve.

Care philosophy

I am flexible, experienced, reassuring, and connecting. My goal is to support you in accessing the tools and resources that you need to find the new rhythm for your changing family. I support you and your baby in what works for you as a family.

McKenna was definitely God sent for us. During our first interview with her when we worried about the lack of support and receiving this from someone we do not know, McKenna was reassuring; her steady, thoughtful approach to how she can help us convinced us of her service.
Days leading up to my due date, she followed up everyday on any symptoms and discomfort I may have, often providing encouragement and home remedies.
After days of false labor, on the day I was actually in labor but yet doubtful, McKenna drove home immediately without a moments hesitation to help us fully aware this could turn to be another false labor day. From back rubs to ensuring I stay hydrated, to helping me through nausea and tracking contractions she was with us every step and brought in her understanding of what’s going on and coping mechanisms. Her knowledge and steady yet comforting support helped me through the birth of our darling baby boy. I’ll be ever grateful.

I spent all of my twenties working as a nanny, with many of those years specializing in infant care. I feel excited about transforming my knowledge and experience into a resource to work with new parents. During lockdown I trained as a Certified Lactation Educator and with DONA International in order to move in the direction of full time doula work. While I am always learning my years working in the homes of young families has taught me a lot about the specific challenges and joys of the transition into parenthood and I feel deeply passionate about witnessing, normalizing, and supporting that process. I am a full spectrum, trauma informed, and gender affirming doula. I deeply value reproductive and economic justice and sliding scale services are available.

Care philosophy

I hope to enter your care team by helping you to have the best possible birth experience via the path that will best suit you and your family. I strive to help you clear that path! As a doula I serve as an emotional, educational, and physical support. At the core I believe birth is a normal healthy process, albeit a transformative one, and your body is going to get you there.

Night Nanny Services: FAQs

A night nanny is a trained professional that specializes in newborn care. They are known as “night nannies” because they arrive at night and offer their nannying services until the morning.

Night nannies are also known as newborn care specialists, which is often abbreviated as “NCS.” A night nanny usually works with new parents for 8-12 weeks after the baby is born. Night nannies are often also called “night nurses.”

It can be incredibly exhausting to sleep train new babies, and a night nanny is expected to sleep train babies. Night nannies can also educate and inform new parents on the best way to feed, bathe, sleep train, and swaddle their children. They are generally available for 8-12 hours during the night and provide nanny services during this time.

Many professional parents often hire overnight nannies in Kirkland, WA because they may work long hours. It might be extremely difficult for these parents to get enough sleep to remain productive, and a night nanny can help them begin sleeping properly. Meela can help you connect with a night nanny in Kirkland, WA today.

To find a night nanny in Kirkland, WA, most parents recommend creating a job post on Meela and having uniquely qualified night nannies near you (in your budget) reach out to you through the Meela app.

You can interview and chat with as many night nannies as you wish and hire a night nanny in Kirkland, WA with confidence. It is completely free to create a job post on Meela and find a night nanny. There are no commitments to hire any of the qualified and expert vetted night nannies Meela brings you.

Here’s how it works in 3 easy steps:

  1. Post a job for free: Answer some questions and receive responses from top-rated night nannies near you. It takes less than 30 seconds to post your job.
  2. Get your list of night nannies: In a few hours, you will have a collection of night nannies near you who are qualified to meet your needs. You can compare pricing, experience, and read reviews. You can chat with each night nanny to learn more about them.
  3. Hire a night nanny with confidence: Schedule virtual or in-person interviews with your top night nanny choices. Hire your top night nanny and start getting your family the care it deserves.

To find a night nanny, you can also browse the available night nannies near you in Kirkland, WA and read reviews, compare pricing, experience and fit. Send the night nannies you are interested in a message, introducing yourself and setting up an interview. We recommend reaching out to and interviewing at least three overnight nannies before hiring a night nanny near you. After interviewing, hire the most qualified overnight nanny near you and start getting the care you deserve.

The cost of a night nanny can vary based on a variety of factors, including their experience, their services, and their skills or specializations. Overall, the average cost of a night nanny in Kirkland, WA is $25-40 per hour.

It should be noted that the price of a night nanny in Kirkland, WA will likely increase if the night nanny is contracted to deal with twins or multiple children. Also, a night nanny’s cost may depend on their level of education, the needs of the newborn, or their exact responsibilities for specific clients.

There are some situations in which your insurance company will help you cover the costs of childcare, and this can obviously help those parents that want their baby’s needs met but might not be as financially secure. Unfortunately, a night nanny usually isn’t covered by insurance.

However, there are some cases where a night nanny is covered by insurance. For example, if your child health issues, parents may want to check to see whether their night nanny costs can be covered by their insurance company since their role is more directly related to your child’s health.

There are many situations in which parents might consider a night nanny in Kirkland, WA. First, both parents might be working long hours, which means that neither of them have the time to actually bathe/feed/swaddle the child when necessary. Some parents might already rely on friends and family, but realize that they require more help when it comes to their children.

A night nanny is also often most necessary in situations where there are twins or triplets. These parents simply may need extra help to care for these children night after night, and night nannies can help take over some of the workload. For first-time parents, for example, having to care for multiple children for the first time can be overwhelming and stressful. Other parents might also be dealing with mental health issues or postpartum depression.

A night nanny is expected to care for the baby as the parent would if they were awake. Night nannies wash baby bottles, prepare feeds, sterilize pump equipment, and more. Overnight nannies also bathe, feed, diaper, and swaddle the baby, as well. A night nanny can also provide care in situations where the mother might be recovering from a C-section, for example.

In many cases, the process is simple: a parent often hands off their baby to their night nanny so that they can get some much-needed sleep. The night nanny remains at the household until the parent(s) wake up, and then night nannies leave once the parents can take over child care duties.

Every family’s needs are different, but night nannies are expected to burp the baby, bathe the baby, prepare formula, and provide other nanny duties. In summary, overnight nannies in Kirkland, WA are expected to keep the baby fed, comfortable, clean, rested, and dry.

However, night nannies are not expected to complete household chores that are unrelated to baby care. It’s also important to note that a night nanny in Kirkland, WA will obviously need to get their rest, as well – so bedding must be provided. A babysitter is often not responsible for actually creating/fixing meals for newborns, washing their baby bottles, or doing their laundry. While a babysitter might monitor a newborn or make sure that they are safe – a nanny might spend time soothing a newborn, swaddling them, or taking care of their meals and clothes. A nanny has more obligations than a babysitter, and are considered more of an “extension” of the parents.
