Practice overview
Stephanie has been a birth labor doula since 2018. She is trained by CAPPA, and continues on-going learning by attending other trainings (such as TENS For Labor), reading pregnancy/birth/postpartum books, and listening to podcasts and TED talks regarding birth procedures, care, and culture. As a birth doula, Stephanie does not practice medical care, but tends to the mental, emotional, and basic physical well-being of her pregnant and laboring clients. She provides comfort techniques for mothers to use while pregnant and laboring, helps families process the emotional transition into parenthood, and assists a family in preparing for birth and the immediate postpartum l.

April 7, 2021 at 3:20 pm | Client reviewI decided pretty last minute that I wanted a doula at my home birth. Even though Stephanie and I met later in my pregnancy, she always felt like a dear friend. She was very involved with me, my family and midwife before my birth. During my labor/birth, she was there when I needed her and gave me space just the same. Stephanie is a respectful wonderful mama and woman to have at your side. She is a great advocate and birth keeper. I love her and you will, too.

April 7, 2021 at 3:48 pm | Client reviewStephanie was such a blessing and an amazing support system in preparing for natural birth, as well as during during and after labor. I am so grateful for all the information and wisdom she provided as we prepared for the arrival of our daughter. She also did a great job in helping my husband feel confident and a part of the birthing process. I truly felt advocated for and she helped me make informed decisions for my birth plan. Super thankful for the support she provided as my doula and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a positive birth experience!

April 12, 2021 at 11:03 am | Client reviewOn my first meeting with Stephanie, I felt she was very easy to talk to and she was interested in hearing my story and what my hopes were for the upcoming birth. I felt very comfortable with her. She was easy to connect with and I felt confident in her ability to be a great asset to my birth team. She attended an appointment with my midwife prior to the birth and that was helpful. Stephanie is very good at talking to people and bringing a calm, stable, confident presence. I don’t know what I would have done without her the day of the birth. I had very bad back labor pains and she knew techniques that brought me great relief. She was good at offering suggestions, as well as listening to what I needed and wanted and then doing what she could to assist. For a previous birth, I had a different doula and I’m so thankful I had Stephanie this time. I would definitely have her be my doula again!

April 13, 2021 at 5:38 pm | Client reviewStephanie was very supportive throughout my experience with her- from prenatal to labor to birth and postpartum. She was quick to communicate via text, email or phone and was on call from the weeks leading up to my due date until I went into labor (post dates). At our request, she made a special clause to our contract in case we were allowed only video call support during COVID. Fortunately we did not need it! Stephanie was supportive of my desire to have an unmedicated birth- met me to assist with labor before heading to hospital. She was a great advocate throughout labor and supported me with a postpartum visit and many follow up texts. She still checked in with me a couple months postpartum. Stephanie goes above and beyond and truly cares about her clients.
