Sarah was such a calming, grounding, and stable presence during my second birth. This was my first hospital birth, and due to a myriad of complications throughout pregnancy I ended up having an induction at 38 weeks. I felt supported and informed about my decisions, and despite my second birth looking quite different from my first – a spontaneous, unmedicated delivery at a birth center – it was a gorgeous and present experience thanks to Sarah’s support. I experienced some brief postpartum complications as well, but never felt like I was at risk of my consent not being prioritized, again thanks in large part to Sarah’s presence. I couldn’t recommend Sarah more to anyone looking for a supportive, full spectrum doula.

Sarah and I were doula partners on a birth. Sarah’s presence and skills were incredibly helpful and comforting for the birthing person, family members, and also for me as her doula partner! She is very knowledgeable about the birthing process and takes great care to research and educate herself on any symptoms or complications that directly impact the birthing person she is supporting. I felt very fortunate to collaborate with Sarah on one birth and I hope to collaborate with her more in the future!

Working with Sarah as my birth doula was an amazing experience and I highly recommend her services. She was well educated, resourceful, and helped me feel comfortable during a vulnerable, new experience.

She brought a calm, nurturing, and supportive energy to the delivery room and seemed to know exactly what I needed. She valued my birth plan and was my advocate every step of the way.

Sarah is an amazing doula! She took a lot of time getting to know both myself and my husband beforehand to make sure that she could support me and help my husband support me during the birth. She walked me through crafting a birth plan step by step and when I had questions about certain options, she followed up by sending me research and information from trusted sources so I could make an informed decision. She never pushed me one way or the other and was completely non-judgemental about my choices.

During labor and delivery, Sarah was great about making suggestions for different things I could try. She suggested them in such away that I felt free to say no or ask for something else instead. Many of her suggestions were every helpful. She also suggested things for my husband to do when he wasn’t sure what to do. Sarah also did a lot of small things that made a big difference. She noticed my hand was slipping on the tub rail while I was pushing and she put her hand there to brace mine. Such a small gesture but one that made a big difference! She was also attentive to things like making sure my water bottle was filled and my cold compress refreshed regularly.

After the delivery, Sarah stuck around to help us settle in and made sure we had support while the delivery staff attended to other matters. She also followed up at home a few days later to check in and see if I needed to process anything about the birth.

      I can’t recommend Sarah enough, she’s great!

Sarah is not only a great doula, but a great person. After we initially interviewed her, she went out of her way to get to know my partner and I. Her many life experiences made for some great stories & welcome distractions while we were biding time during our multi-day, multi-venue birthing tour…she even graciously indulged some unusual requests on our part that were outside the “normal” scope of duties. Having her around both showed me how and gave me the confidence (and often respite) that enabled me to be a better partner in birth to my spouse. She is so conscientious that during the birth process, she would act on things before we needed them or without us knowing to ask. The comfort she provided I can only describe as having not just your own, but your spouse’s most knowledgeable, long-time, and caring friend at your beck and call. I cannot imagine the birthing process without a doula; Sarah is an incredible choice that we were fortunate enough to find through blind luck.

We had multiple meetings with Sarah before giving birth and from the very first get to know you call, we immediately knew she was the doula for us. She provides a calming presence, is always interested in learning new things, and has a true passion for this work.

Her background with yoga, constant encouragement and desire to help made us feel comfortable even when our entire birth plan got turned on it’s head. Through working with her during our pre birth sessions we went through discussions that were incredibly in depth and made us think about things we had overlooked previously. These discussions also helped us to understand why we felt strongly about certain decisions and talk through things we were nervous about. We also worked through positions, and figured out what sort of support and comfort measures would work best for us.

Three days before giving birth I became too high risk for my planned birth at a birth center, and had to transition to a hospital birth. Sarah provided support and helped us to cope with this major change. Without having Sarah as part of our team it would have been an even more difficult shift.

During a difficult unmedicated labor Sarah was a constant presence, asking leading questions to help me ask for the things I needed, and helping to keep my partner calm. She was always encouraging me and helping to make me feel like I could keep going. Suggesting different positions, and encouraging me to do what felt right.

Sarah was great to work with; I would highly recommend her. She met with my wife and I twice before the delivery date, to talk through things and to go over examples of comfort techniques, which my wife found to be very useful. Having her present on the delivery day was incredibly helpful, and took a lot of stress off of my shoulders. She did a wonderful job helping my wife through the process. She also stopped by after the delivery for a follow up to see how things were going for those first few weeks. Overall, Sarah is a very caring person and has certainly found her calling!

Sarah was a terrific Doula and my wife and I are very grateful for the help and guidance she offered before, during, and after the birth of our newborn. My wife had a very long labor, and Sarah was present and supportive through the entire experience. If you are looking for a Doula I would highly recommend Sarah. I am confident that she will be a knowledgeable, positive and kind presence throughout your birthing experience.

Sarah was such a helpful addition to my birth team. She was there for the duration of my grueling 44 hour labor. She met with us several times before the birth, so we felt very comfortable with her before labor began. One of the reasons I chose her was for her background as a yoga instructor. During one of our visits together before labor, it became evident to me that that skill was going to come in use more than I anticipated. She was clearly very comfortable speaking and supporting me verbally in a tone that was so calming and encouraging. The breath work she brought to my labor helped me tremendously to ground me and I am so grateful to have had her there from start to finish through all the unexpected hiccups of getting our baby earth-side. She came to visit us postpartum and brought so many helpful resources. Do not hesitate hiring Sarah as your Doula, you will not find a more supportive person for your birth team, no matter what kind of birth you are planning for.
