This woman is a thief and a liar. Prior conviction of theft by swindle and at it again. No DONA certification and robbed my husband’s business while in my home alone with my newborn. DO NOT ALLOW THIS MONSTER INTO YOUR HOME

My name is Amelia and I have spent the better part of the last decade working as a recruiter in tech. It was there that I fell in love with walking alongside individuals as they make emotionally charged decisions that impact not just themselves, but their families. It was a field that allowed me to listen first and respond with empathy and resources to help them advocate for themselves. I have always been inspired by sacred transformation in pregnancy and birth and it's long been my desire to embolden people in this stage of life. After birthing two daughters of my own, it dawned on me that I can marry my passion for connection, affirming support and advocacy with birth. Thank you for taking the time to consider inviting me to be a part of your birth team. I hope that I can hear more about your wildest dreams for your birth, provide you with continuous support, and bear witness to you stepping into your power.

Care philosophy

Every birth is an accomplishment and every person deserves to have choice and autonomy in their birthing story. When these are present, the birther feels empowered, despite the outcome. It is my mission to instill confidence in parents, to listen to their desires, and hold space for their story. I am there to make you feel heard, seen, and held in the ways that make sense for you and your family.

My husband and I initially had a virtual interview with Amelia and felt so at ease with her from the very beginning that we knew we wanted her to be a part of our birth story. One week later, we had arranged for her to come to our home to meet in person and make preparations. Needless to say, my original plan and hopes were thrown into a tailspin when my blood pressure was too high at my birth center appointment that morning and I was sent to the hospital for further tests which ultimately led to the decision to induce. Amelia didn’t hesitate. Her texts and calls while I waited to be induced later that night put my heart at ease knowing that she was ready to jump right in when we needed her and that we would tackle whatever challenges came. Our first time meeting Amelia face to face, I was already in early labor, and within moments of entering the room, she was providing counter pressure and pulling out all the tricks from her seemingly bottomless bag. Amelia was then with us for the next 30 hours, through countless physical and mental curveballs, and helped us weather them all until our sweet boy was born via c-section.

Words can not express the level of gratitude my wife and I have for Jenn. She was more than a Doula, she quickly became our sister, best friend and mother (like support). She supported my wife and I through every moment. I was able to have the birth I really wanted even though it wasn’t what we had necessarily expected. She said she couldn’t guarantee a perfect birth but she could guarantee a well supported and well loved birth. She was right! She supported us at the beginning at the end and everything in between. It was a perfect birth simply because Jenn was apart of it.

Sarah was such a helpful addition to my birth team. She was there for the duration of my grueling 44 hour labor. She met with us several times before the birth, so we felt very comfortable with her before labor began. One of the reasons I chose her was for her background as a yoga instructor. During one of our visits together before labor, it became evident to me that that skill was going to come in use more than I anticipated. She was clearly very comfortable speaking and supporting me verbally in a tone that was so calming and encouraging. The breath work she brought to my labor helped me tremendously to ground me and I am so grateful to have had her there from start to finish through all the unexpected hiccups of getting our baby earth-side. She came to visit us postpartum and brought so many helpful resources. Do not hesitate hiring Sarah as your Doula, you will not find a more supportive person for your birth team, no matter what kind of birth you are planning for.

I am someone who loves to support and advocate for others. I am a natural born caretaker and get much enjoyment by helping others. I was in the human services world as a chemical dependency counselor for about 15 years and worked with individuals when they were at their worst and never judged their journey. I started my work as a birth and postpartum doula in March of 2022, where I continue to work with others with a nonjudgmental stance. I would be honored to be at your side while bringing a new life into this world as your birth doula. I would also be privileged to work with your growing family during the 4th trimester (12 weeks after delivery). Postpartum can be overwhelming to many, and I would be able to provide tools, tips and an extra set of hands to help!

Care philosophy

As a birth doula, my hope is that you can look back on your birth experience with me and have positive memories. I will respect your choices and help you process options as needed. I believe having your voice heard is incredibly important, and that is what I will do, listen. As a postpartum doula, it is crucial that you trust me in your home, with your family and mainly with your newborn baby!

When I was pregnant with my first child and told my midwife that I was hoping for an unmedicated birth, she quickly recommended I find a doula. Prior to giving birth and having a child I liked being in control and would get frustrated when things didn't go as expected. During my pregnancy I worked hard to let go and be flexible. Don't get me wrong, I still love to plan and organize! However, I was able to find joy and peace in the unknown. Having a doula by my side allowed me to let go and connect with my body and my husband in ways I never would have imagined possible during labor and birth. Wild Mother is committed to supporting you through your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. It's my pleasure to provide you with... Resources and evidence based research during your pregnancy so you feel confident about your choices Physical and emotional support during labor and birth Assist with breastfeeding and lend a helping hand to you postpartum

Care philosophy

Since becoming a mother, I have learned a lot. The greatest lesson possibly, that advocating for yourself and having support makes a huge impact on how you experience life. I'm passionate about serving others as they birth and transform into parenthood. Every person, every birth, and every baby is unique. I'm here to help you feel confident throughout your pregnancy and be proud of your birth!

My Philosophy as a Doula I believe… You deserve to be respected, heard, and seen as a unique individual with intersecting identities. Your identities, history, and values matter. You hold the wisdom to make the best choices for yourself and your child. Birth is political; from hospitals to insurance to parental leave policies, the system is designed to serve a privileged few. Racial disparities in birth-related statistics are not due to race, but due to racism. Not just women carry and birth babies. Every human deserves bodily autonomy and choice. My role is to empower, support, and advocate. My role is to build connection and trust. My role is to hold space for you.

Care philosophy

Holistic care is my focus, as pregnancy, birth, and the transitions involved are not simply physical experiences, but can deeply affect you emotionally and spiritually as well. I operate with the core values of inclusivity, non-judgement, empowerment, anti-racism, advocacy, and humility.

My name is Lindsay and I live in Northeast Minneapolis with my husband, 10-year-old & 3-year-old daughters, and my 18-month old son. We have dreams of moving to the country and having a hobby farm. Someday those dreams will be realized but in the meantime, we enjoy city life and all its nuanced wonder. I had a doula during my births and have since been inspired to offer the support, education, and sincere sense of calm that my doula offered me.

Care philosophy

My intention as a doula is to support you, encourage you, process options with you, and most importantly, create space to help you breathe and allow the innate feelings of strength and power you possess serve you during this life-changing experience. I currently live in Ramsey, MN, with my husband and 2 children. With my 1st child, I chose a hospital setting, without professional support. I personally wish I had, especially to have advocacy and informed decisions! With my 2nd, I chose a home birth and it was magical! I absolutely loved it and I completely saw the differences. I started doula work because I began researching interventions and many people on social media asked me questions! I realized that I have a knack for educating, supporting and knowing more about childbirth!

Care philosophy

I am a holistic doula that believes in the entire body, as well as mentality. I believe everyone should make informed choices about their care. I love to educate, support and be there for my clients in any way possible.

A doula provides physical and emotional support to parents and siblings, but they also offer information and advice regarding how to feed, bathe, swaddle, and soothe the baby.

They also often help with postpartum depression issues, and are considered child care “consultants” rather than medical professionals. Many postpartum doulas in Bloomington, MN offer a range of services that can help with parents trying to adjust to a newborn child. These services often include:

  • Sibling care
  • Assist with household chores
  • Parent-baby bonding
  • Physical and emotional recovery
  • Support to parents and extended family

A postpartum doula in Bloomington, MN can have a lasting positive impact on a family and help them feel more confident about their parenting role and the way that they feed and nurture their baby. They might offer advice regarding feeding, bathing, and parent-baby bonding.

It is important to note that a postpartum doula might offer advice but is not expected to provide medical care of any kind or serve as a replacement to an accredited physician. Postpartum doulas are also not qualified to prescribe medication.

Many new parents want to know about certified postpartum doulas and how exactly they are certified. Since the demand for postpartum doulas has greatly expanded in the last several years, the number of reputable postpartum doula training and certification programs has grown in Bloomington, MN. Training criteria can differ from program to program, but most follow a similar curriculum which includes core academic curriculum and practical hours and real-life care experience.

One of the most common national postpartum doula training certifications comes from DONA International. A postpartum doula usually receives about 27 hours of practical training before they are a certified postpartum doula.

There are also CAPPA-certified postpartum doulas in Bloomington, MN, as well. These doulas were certified by the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association, an international organization that certifies doulas and other childbirth educators/professionals.

As a reminder, because postpartum doulas are not trained to be a medical professional and diagnose and treat medical conditions, a certification is not required for them to practice.

As their names suggest, a birth doula’s main priority is to provide support services before, during and in the moments immediately after childbirth. A postpartum doula’s obligations usually begin after the birth, for several weeks or months. In many cases, your birth doula will also be a trained and certified postpartum doula, which can provide a continuity of care that many parents find extremely valuable.

Many parents want to know whether a postpartum doula or a baby nurse would meet their needs and expectations. A baby nurse might be focused on making sure that a baby sleeps or feeds properly, but that might be the extent of their role. A postpartum doula generally offers more holistic services for their clients.

A postpartum doula in Bloomington, MN is expected to be more involved with the family as a whole. They might remain involved in sibling care or also provide emotional support to the partner as both parents adjust to becoming new parents. This may even include support for older siblings, light housework, and even meal prep. A postpartum doula provides more physical, emotional, and informational support than a baby nurse.

You can hire two types of doulas in Bloomington, MN: a birth doula and a postpartum doula. The birth doula is during your pregnancy and through the birth of your child. They provide you with emotional, physical and educational support during your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and for the first few hours after your child is born.

A postpartum doula will support you for the first few weeks after the baby is born. They provide in-home assistance, including teaching you how to take care of your newborn, acting as lactation consultant, and can provide some night nanny services.
