Practice overview
As your doula, I offer continuity of care through the entirety of your perinatal journey, from pregnancy through to postpartum. I am a trained full-spectrum doula with Doula Trainings International. Additional supplemental training consists of - intentional breathing and relaxation, hypnobirthing, spinning babies, acupressure and moxibustion, and tantra. I acknowledge that not all those who give birth identify as women, and happily support different family arrangements and backgrounds. It is a sincere privilege to work with families during this life changing time in their lives, and I strive to work collaboratively with birthing families to help you understand, request, and receive the care that you need. Through listening empathetically, sharing latest evidence-based information, understanding physiologic birth, and providing tools for self-advocacy, I aspire to make you feel safe and empowered.

In addition to all-around professionalism, Jamee has a calming, supportive, and joyful presence when working with my partner and I on this birth journey. She has a multitude of resources and encouragement for any topic we’ve asked about, and her structured recommendations have been extremely helpful – e.g.: we talked through the stages of birth explicitly, with Jamee promoting both me and my husband on what our experiences may be like. We found this incredibly helpful as our roles during the birth process will be different, but we need to be well informed in order to be connected. Another aspect of this journey that is highly important to me is that my son’s birth be as calm and beautiful as possible. Jamee has been wonderful in this regard – she has been providing me with meditations, breathing exercises, and all-around support and encouragement that helps me feel empowered in my choices. Also, I should mention that both my husband and I contacted covid during my third trimester and Jamee was incredibly patient and a source of calm during what would’ve otherwise been an extremely stressful time. Although we weren’t feeling the best physically, it really helped to talk through our experiences with her. We felt so understood and it helped us process the experience healthily. I’m so excited to give birth, my partner is excited to support me, and we are looking forward to this celebration and monumental day of life for our baby!

She is actively engaged in many of the opportunities provided to her through the mentorship community at DTI and it is always refreshing to see her sharing, asking questions and supporting other participants with her knowledge. Jamee was instrumental in supporting every step of the way— we had a lot of questions and even if she didn’t know the answers, she always followed up with her network and provided a plethora of information to share. Leading up to labor and delivery, Jamee was our advocate at the hospital. She knew our birth plan, helped to ask the right questions with the L&D team, and was also well respected by the hospital staff as she helped around the room— but most importantly made sure my partner and I were comfortable. All of the tips, exercises, birthing strategies, and prep that Jamee provided made our pregnancy and birthing experience seamless. We are forever grateful for Jamee’s presence and knowledge during this special time.

When I found out she was in training to become a doula, I knew she’d be the perfect person to support me during my first birthing experience. Jamee offered me and my family support, guidance, and comfort during my pregnancy and labor. Her calm presence put me at ease, making me feel safe during labor. Jamee also went above and beyond in creating a relaxing environment for me in my birthing room. She was my voice, asking questions for me about procedures in the delivery room and explaining the procedures being done. She made me feel empowered to make informed decisions during labor, based on our prior conversations, and supported my birthing preferences every step of the way. Jamee also helped me prepare for postpartum with items for my recovery period. I’m so grateful to have had Jamee as my doula during the most special and vulnerable time of my life. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking support from another woman who is not only knowledgeable in childbirth preparation but also a warm-hearted person who genuinely cares for her clients.
