Practice overview
Anna believes that a thriving family is bedrock for everything we hold dear, individually and collectively. She knows that the requirements for family thriving are simple, a pleasure to provide and receive even, but somewhat lost in many families’ traditions. Through her work with families, her studies, and her own experiences, she has come to appreciate how multi-dimensional the transition to parenthood is, and how abundant loving care and attention can make a tremendous difference to all involved.
She completed birth and postpartum doula training through Doulas of North America in 2012. In 2013 she became a certified lactation counselor through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. She has attended over 130 births in hospitals, homes, and birthing centers throughout New York City, plus several births virtually (even before Covid 19!). From 2013-2016 she was a volunteer full-spectrum doula with the Doula Project. She has also volunteered with the Mothers' Milk Bank of Austin, Texas, mixing and packaging donated milk for local NICU babies! She is a certified INNATE Postpartum Traditions provider.
She holds a BFA in dance from SUNY Purchase and was a professional dancer for 13 years. She is a mother of two forces of nature. Her own two births, and especially her own two postpartum experiences, have been deeply transformative, eye opening and life altering. She loves art, music, trees, pollinators, cooking, quiet, books, podcasts, rugs, tea, bicycling, the beach, sunshine and rain storms.
