Growing up in India, I saw the women of my family taking care of the new mother around the clock where she gets to heal, recover and bond with her baby. There was a village to take care of the mother and the baby during postpartum. Elderly women of the house made lactating foods and gave body massages to the new mother. There was no village here. I was not thriving, I was surviving. So choosing to become a doula wasn't a hard decision to make. As your postpartum doula, I become the village you rely on. Your journey as a mother, and your emotional and physical health is a priority to me and here you matter as a mother, woman, and a human being. So leave the worries of everyday life to me and explore the beauty of motherhood, even though postpartum may not feel all pretty, I have got your back! I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental, and empowering place for parents so they can advocate for their needs, and know that they are everything their baby and family need! My goal is to support your philosophy as a parent and encourage self-love and confidence.

Care philosophy

As a Postpartum Doula, my compassion reflects in the exceptional care I provide for my doula families. I take immense pride in seeing the families I support through their postpartum journey thrive at transitioning to parenthood.

It is an honor to recommend Charu as a doula and lactation counselor. We have worked together providing newborn and breastfeeding support in a community setting. Charu shares her expertise, skills and resources with compassion and warmth. It is always a delight to be talking with her. She continues to add to her knowledge and certifications and is always very up to date. Charu is calm, reassuring, respectful and always present with clients and her peers. As Charu’s mentor and colleague, I have learned much about caring for new families. I strongly recommend Charu!

Felisha is wonderful! My husband and I welcomed our first child this spring and Felisha gave us fantastic support in the postpartum phase. She is very knowledgeable and experienced given her professional background and as a mom of three. Equally as important, she is kind, warm, and thoughtful. Bringing someone to your home right after going through a life changing event of becoming a parent is very intimate experience. We automatically felt at ease with Felisha and looked forward to every visit as did our son. In fact, my husband and I called her the baby whisperer because our son always seemed so happy with Felisha. Felisha helped us with daytime visits and overnights, gave us confidence, answered our questions, and importantly let us recover. For the mamas out there, the fourth trimester is real and if you are able to bring on support during this time, do it. I always appreciated how Felisha checked in with me and not just the baby. For any expecting parents thinking about working with a postpartum doula – my husband and I strongly encourage it!
