My name is Samantha, but you can call me Sammy. Originally, I set out to become a midwife. One of my favorite shows growing up was "The Cosby Show," I liked the profession that Dr. Huxtable worked in. I thought it was simple: you get a pregnant client, deliver their baby, and 1,2,3 send them on their way. Wrong. As I grew older and listened/ read stories about different childbirth and postpartum experiences, I realized that there was an abundant amount of fear and misery regarding pregnancy and childbirth. So, I also chose to dive into becoming a doula so that these families can get the advocation, care, and compassion that they deserve/ need in and out of the birthing room. Not only do I want to help their, but I also want to help the family adapt to bringing baby home.
