Practice overview
I am a full-spectrum doula serving the DMV area. I completed my training with Doula Trainings International in 2021. I have loved babies and birth my whole life, but giving birth to my daughter in May of 2021 really solidified my passion for supporting the birthing body. As a full-spectrum doula, I support a variety of reproductive events, specializing in birth and postpartum. I like to describe myself as "Very Virgo" - I'm a detail-oriented perfectionist who loves giving advice and helping others. Prior to pursuing doula work, I ran a locally owned specialty coffee shop and because of it I will forever be a coffee nerd, for better or worse. I am an artist and calligrapher, which helps me find beauty in the imperfections in life. I am also a certified cat lady - literally, there's a certification involved - but I have a soft spot for all animals. In my spare time I love hanging out and being silly with my husband and daughter and our three cats in Reston, VA.

She was so open and supportive of each and every aspect of my birth plan and did an absolutely amazing job coaching me through my son’s birth. My husband and I honestly don’t know what we would have done without her! Thanks to Kayla, my son’s birth was everything I hoped it would be. I can’t recommend her more highly and can’t wait to work with her again for our next baby!

August 12, 2022 at 10:40 am | Client reviewKayla was my birth doula and postpartum doula for my second baby. I had saved cash for postpartum doula services before I had a baby because I knew it would be a good investment into myself and my family.
I had the most blissful 4th trimester thanks to her coming just twice a week for 4-hour blocks of time in the morning.
Kayla always had me caught up on kids laundry, made me coffee that I could drink while it was hot (she was a barista in a past life, btw, hint hint), helped get my toddler ready for the day if needed or took care of the new baby if needed- whichever assistance was to serve me best in the moment.
She took on extra little “happy mama” projects for me since nesting was a little more slack on the 2nd go ’round doing things like helping organize my new baby’s room and closet.
She even does calligraphy on the side and wrote this beautiful nameplate out for my baby’s birth that I definitely wanted to pay her extra for but she made it a parting gift to me.
She is seriously on it with dishes, tidying, and serves whatever need you call for from the depths of new mamahood.
My 2nd baby came so quickly but all the prep work she did with me for her arrival was equally on par with her excellent birth and postpartum doula services.
It was a huge blessing to have her around for all of it- the birth and the days, weeks, and months that came after in my 2nd time around becoming a mama to a new little.

We feel it was a true gift to have our second baby enter the world to such a calm and happy environment and feel that Kayla’s support was an immense reason for this. We were blessed to have received loving guidance, encouragement, and extremely valuable support before, during, and after birth. Prior to birth, Kayla was able to provide us with helpful resources and empowered us to make our own best decisions. During labor, Kayla provided a calm and loving presence, wisdom, and support. She has a great intuition and was able to provide a peaceful space of respect and privacy that my husband and I wanted. During birth, she was able to support us just as needed. She provided endless physical/emotional/mental support. My husband and I truly can not imagine that special moment without her. As we requested, she was also able to take a few candid photos during the birthing experience, which I will forever cherish. Moving to the postpartum period, Kayla has continued to support our family as we begin our life as a family of four. She has answered countless texts, and when I ran into a few challenges, I was so thankful to have her as a resource. Postpartum can present so many challenges, and Kayla makes you feel as though you have a village. I unequivocally recommend Kayla. She was truly the best support we could have ever wanted during this process. We are so thankful for her!!!
