  Audrey has taken great care of me and has helped me through this journey spiritually, emotionally and physically. Whatever I needed Audrey has always been available and right there. She will definitely be my doula again for my other pregnancies in the future. My Consort and I rave to everyone about the nurture, care and the way of the ancestors Audrey provided. I cannot thank her enough and I’m happy to call her a friend now. She is now apart of the tribe.

I started a crash course of parenting as a bonus mom and then, was blessed with the experience in my own pregnancy and birth. Through my doula training and in witnessing my sister have a beautiful birth, I was able to acknowledge just how traumatic my own pregnancy and birth experiences were. My induction, over a day of laboring, and hours of unsuccessful pushing led to an emergency cesarean. I was terrified and was unprepared, so I am dedicated to ensuring this does not happen to my clients and that they have the opportunity to plan their birthing journey.

  Juliann is compassionate, professional, and intuitive. She was a pillar of support through my 2 pregnancies. Her insight was invaluable during such emotional (and stressful) experiences. I felt better prepared with her by my side!

I am a full-spectrum doula serving the DMV area. I completed my training with Doula Trainings International in 2021. I have loved babies and birth my whole life, but giving birth to my daughter in May of 2021 really solidified my passion for supporting the birthing body. As a full-spectrum doula, I support a variety of reproductive events, specializing in birth and postpartum. ​ I like to describe myself as "Very Virgo" - I'm a detail-oriented perfectionist who loves giving advice and helping others. Prior to pursuing doula work, I ran a locally owned specialty coffee shop and because of it I will forever be a coffee nerd, for better or worse. I am an artist and calligrapher, which helps me find beauty in the imperfections in life. I am also a certified cat lady - literally, there's a certification involved - but I have a soft spot for all animals. In my spare time I love hanging out and being silly with my husband and daughter and our three cats in Reston, VA.

  We were so blessed to have Kayla as our doula. We feel it was a true gift to have our second baby enter the world to such a calm and happy environment and feel that Kayla’s support was an immense reason for this. We were blessed to have received loving guidance, encouragement, and extremely valuable support before, during, and after birth. Prior to birth, Kayla was able to provide us with helpful resources and empowered us to make our own best decisions. During labor, Kayla provided a calm and loving presence, wisdom, and support. She has a great intuition and was able to provide a peaceful space of respect and privacy that my husband and I wanted. During birth, she was able to support us just as needed. She provided endless physical/emotional/mental support. My husband and I truly can not imagine that special moment without her. As we requested, she was also able to take a few candid photos during the birthing experience, which I will forever cherish. Moving to the postpartum period, Kayla has continued to support our family as we begin our life as a family of four. She has answered countless texts, and when I ran into a few challenges, I was so thankful to have her as a resource. Postpartum can present so many challenges, and Kayla makes you feel as though you have a village. I unequivocally recommend Kayla. She was truly the best support we could have ever wanted during this process. We are so thankful for her!!!

  I am a current client of Erin’s and she has been so incredibly helpful! I had been anxious about child birth and my lack of knowledge I had going into it, and she’s given me so much information, shared her own experiences, and has helped me be much less worried about giving birth.

  I went to school with Chaya and my pregnancy actually helped us reconnect! As a first time mom, I was terrified of the entire pregnancy, labor, and delivery experience but Chaya helped the process go smoothly!

With 12+ years of doula experience, Sarah is ready to support you through your birth journey. She is passionate about guiding women and their families through pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum while attending all types of births as a doula! Sarah was a licensed massage therapist before becoming a doula. That training and experience has been a HUGE asset for her clients. It helped her learn a great deal about the body, like how to specifically look where pregnant women hold tension. She can remind you when and where to release that tension, and how to help the body relax using different massage techniques. Sarah's support for laboring moms often takes many forms. This includes encouragement, education, decision making, relaxation techniques, and suggesting position changes. She has extensive experience working with many different life situations and many different types of support people on the birth team. She knows it is very important to have a doula who knows how to respectfully support whomever is supporting that mom at her birth whether it is the husband, partner, mom, sister, or friend who needs emotional and educational support at the birth as well. It may be a different kind of support, but it is just as important to the laboring mother to have her loved ones better able to help her as well. ​ Sarah has two beautiful children with her husband, Matthew. They had an amazing doula named Ginny for the birth of their daughter, who unexpectedly arrived early at 35 1/2 weeks. They were so thankful their doula was there supporting them. Ginny created calm wherever she went, and over time Sarah realized that she wanted to be able to offer that kind of atmosphere with love and support to pregnant moms, too. While going through Birth Doula training, Sarah was able to learn from, train under and be professionally mentored by her doula, Ginny. Sarah was honored to be hired at Ginny's non-profit doula organization after becoming a certified doula. In 2014, Sarah branched out into her own business. Doula work is not always easy, but it fills her heart with doing something she loves. All the love and support from her family has allowed her to attend over 200 births in the last 12 years.

  We had the privilege of working with Sarah during the height of the pandemic, so on top of the general stresses and worries of preparing for birth and postpartum, we didn’t have any family around to support us in-person. Sarah immediately felt like a trusted friend and advisor, and the preparatory meetings we shared were incredibly valuable from a practical what-to-expect perspective as well as an emotional one.

  In the delivery room, she tracked my progress and gave us a birthing timeline which is a fascinating and treasured record. She supported my birthing process and took some wonderful photos of the birth as well.

  Postpartum, Sarah graced our home on a twice weekly basis for night shifts to give my husband (and to some extent myself, a round-the-clock breastfeeding mom) some very much needed rest. Her confidence handling our daughter with loving care and good humor added so much to our early months as new parents. I’ll always remember her making cookies in our kitchen with our daughter snuggly and happily swaddled by her side. She also helped my husband and I with some accupressure treatment for our newly challenged shoulder and back muscles.

  We have kept in regular touch with Sarah over the past two years and hope to remain in touch for a long time to come. Her skillful work as a doula, coupled with her personable, caring demeanor, have left an indelible mark on our family. We are forever grateful to her and to my colleague who recommended her to us.

  Mrs. Copeland is a amazing person and caregiver during my pregnancy. She’s very educated about pregnancy and answers all my birth questions. My name is Bianca and I have been practicing as a birth doula since 2012 and a postpartum doula since 2018.I am currently Lamaze trained in childbirth education as well as lactation support. I provide 2 prenatal visits (in home/virtual), labor support, and 1 postpartum visit. I also began to include birth photography in my practice.   Bianca is a great advocate and leader in the community in reference to being a birth/postpartum doula and a Lamaze trained child birth educator. She has been able to implement educational support to all ages and helped the birthing persons/partner to feel at ease and knowledgeable. The continuity of care that she has been able to give allows her clients to be lifelong and the relationships that are built are authentic.

Fiona (she/her) has always felt strongly connected with the birthing process, babies, and life transitions; wanting nothing more than to help people have beautiful and empowering experiences no matter the circumstances. Caring for her young cousins in their early lives, babysitting, and many other things sparked interest, but attending the birth of her little sister, Bedelia, in 2018 inspired her to get into birth work. I am a new birth & postpartum doula, lactation counselor, and childbirth educator training with Childbirth International. I am very passionate about prenatal nutrition and am currently in school to become a prenatal dietitian. I married my husband in December of 2020. Soon after, we adopted a boxer husky mix dog named Beau from our local animal shelter. We fell head over heels in love with him and have been obsessed since we laid eyes on him. If you were to ask my husband, he would tell you my favorite things to talk about are pregnancy, babies and Beau! I've worked as a nanny and babysitter with children of all ages. Childcare is part of the reason I wanted to become a doula. I saw how a difficult labor and delivery experience affected families, especially if there is some type of complication or the baby is premature. I felt like becoming a doula was the best way I personally could help. As a teenager, I experienced various medical issues and often found myself in and out of the hospital. These experiences opened my eyes to see how important advocation is in the medical field. I will do everything in my power to advocate for you and make sure your entire experience is as positive and smooth as possible.
