My name is Rachel Abraham and I am from Chicago, but I am currently residing in Peoria, Illinois. I attended Bradley University in Peoria where I received a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Sociology. I have always been interested in the labor and delivery process and I decided that I want to be able to serve the members of my community by becoming a doula. I currently provide labor/delivery and postpartum support and I look forward to getting to know you and going along with you on this beautiful journey.

I believe that a doula is not only an advocate but a friend to the community that they serve. My goal is to do my best in getting my clients as close to the birth experience that they desire as well as serving them with compassion, care, and respect regardless of who they are or where they come from.

Postpartum Doula

$ 35 /hr

As your postpartum doula, I am here to help your family in those first days and weeks after the new baby arrives. I will assist you with self-care recovery measures, provide information on mother and baby care, assist you in caring for and feeding baby/babies, breastfeeding support, infant soothing, teaching and education, assist your family with adjusting to the new roles and responsibilities, assist with sibling adjustments, assist with pet adjustments and parent coaching. I offer light household support: including preparing occasional light meals, meal planning, grocery shopping, baby laundry, tidying and dish-washing. All services are provided with no judgment and with the utmost care and support of your family values.

Birth Doula

As a Birth Doula I accompany women during labor, in order to assist them have a safe and fulfilling delivery experience. I'll use my expertise and experience to give emotional support, physical comfort, and the information you need to make educated pregnancy and labor decisions for you and your partner. I assist with relaxation, massage, and other relaxation techniques and make suggestions for labor progress if needed. I am a self-employed professional that works for you, not for a caregiver or medical facility.

Rachel really helped to facilitate a calm environment during her time with us. We have not delivered yet but I believe that she will be a great help in navigating this new journey especially considering all that she’s done thus far.

Rachel had played such a critical role in where my family is today. Her mentoring, encouragement, critical thinking and problem solving skills are the reason that I was able to mend my family dynamic and make better decisions for myself and them going into the future. Anyone look to hire her a professional should be looking for a candidate that is passionate, determined, and caring enough to extend herself for her client to make sure they are comfortable opening up and trust her to help them throughout their journey. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for family, life adjustment, mental support, and overall care.

A true gem. So helpful and comforting. I had my doubts about what was the best way to deliver my first child and after a lot of suggestions and input from family, I settled on finding a doula. I found Rachel through the recommendation of a friend and it was the most stress-free, comforting experience ever. I hope everyone comes across a doula such as Rachel if they do not have the pleasure or honor of actually having her as a doula through their child birth experience. Rachel’s services and wisdom did not stop at delivery. Months after giving birth she would regularly check up on me and baby PJ. Rachel has always fostered a positive and supportive relationship and environment with me, my fiancé and our families and I would love for her to be my doula for all my children I plan to have in the near future. Truly a gifted, loving person.
