I have been happily married for 12 years and I'm a homeschool mom of 5. I am a DONA certified birth doula who provides prenatal care, post-partum care. I also provide placenta encapsulation services. I got started as a birth doula after becoming aware of the black maternal health crisis in America. I remember feeling afraid while carrying my 5th baby and hoping to still be here for my other 4 children after giving birth. After birthing her unmedicated, I decided to become part of the change by ensuring no other mom has to birth in fear or suffer neglect in the labor and delivery room.

September 28, 2022 at 11:26 am | Client reviewI was a first time mom looking for a Dula due to low income at the moment the Jeremiah program recommended Psalms Frye to me. As soon as I reached out to her, she immediately gave me her best time and schedule to help me even though I couldn’t afford one. I know since I was going naturally I needed a lot of assistance. She sent me videos and explained the process very throughly. No matter what was my issue she was available to assist with all I needed. Once it was time for the birthing process I couldn’t lie due to not having family here with me I don’t think my experience doing a water birth would have been so beautiful without her. She Advocated with the medical team for me to make sure that all that I wanted and requested was given to me during my time of service in the hospital with the midwife and the nurses to make sure that all what I wanted that I written down on my birthing plan was completed. I truly enjoyed the placenta and capsule and how she also explained that process for me and gave me a video and I was able to see him give me giving birth and I truly enjoy that whole experience and I know while I was giving birth I wasn’t able to see everything and being able to go back and see everything that really made me very satisfied as a first time parent I would very much recommend psalms to other moms especially first time mom’s because needing that hands on and very fresh personality really it’s what we need going through all we’re going throughout the pregnancy

The information she shared during our sessions was very insightful . While laboring I personally found breathing techniques, aromatherapy, and laboring positions to have had a positive impact on my overall experience. I’m so grateful to have had Psalms as a doula and would 100% recommend her wether you’re looking for some additional support, advocacy for your ideal birth plan, and postpartum support.

She respected every request I presented. She also helped me get through the csection of my now 1 month old twins. Psalms is also knowledgeable in breastfeeding and has provided me input on that in the past as well. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.
