Practice overview
I became a labor doula because I had a fantastic family friend supporting me when I delivered my child. I trained & certified with CAPPA & Hypnobabies. I wanted to make sure that my future clients knew that I take my role as a labor doula seriously, that I am committed to providing a professional service, and that I will always do my best to be there to help them achieve the birth they are seeking. I am passionate about what I do and I doula with all my heart. As a former cast member at Walt Disney World, I strive to provide the best client service I can, including taking only 1-2 clients per month. Because I believe family means different things to different people I welcome clients from all walks of life. This means I am committed to providing support and encouragement to anyone expecting a child regardless of marital status, sexual orientation or gender identity. Whether this is your first child or your last child, whether your birth takes place in a hospital or in your home, whether you have a support person or not, or whether I provide my services in person or virtually, I am here to support you.

Let me start by saying that should I have a second baby, she will be the person that I call right after my husband. 🙂 Melissa is awesome: wise, caring, supportive, encouraging, and kind. My husband and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to have by our side. As most will say, my son’s birth didn’t necessarily go according to plan, but Melissa helped me to evaluate each obstacle and choice with knowledge, confidence, and compassion resulting in the safe, healthy, and joyful entry to the world that I wanted for my sweet boy. My family was also extremely grateful for the updates and explanations that she provided to them throughout my very long labor. Melissa checked in on us several times after we left the hospital and continued to support us with home visits and through the sharing of information and referrals for postpartum issues. Melissa is truly gifted at what she does. I am so lucky to have had her on my side during this time and to have made a true friend in the process.

She checked in with us weekly, answering any questions we had during pregnancy. She helped us to create a birth plan, ensuring that we felt comfortable with each decision. During labor, she was immensely supportive to me and to my husband and helped us to achieve the unmedicated birth we desired. In the weeks following the birth of our baby, she checked in on us to ensure we were adjusting well and answering any questions. We were extremely grateful to have her as our doula and would recommend her to anyone!
