Marissa S. | Birth Doula in Mobile, AL

Nurturing Ivy Doula Co. LLC

    Practice overview

Hi I'm Marissa, a compassionate pediatric/neonatal respiratory therapist who found her calling as a Doula. With many years of PICU and NICU training, I am experienced with how to care from premature infants to adolescent teens. I understand that the hospital system is excellent, however I've witnessed many parents who were feeling overwhelmed after only learning how to care for their baby for 24-48 hours. Through my career, I have seen firsthand the challenges faced by families as they navigated the delicate world of childhood illness and medical interventions. Deeply moved by the emotional and physical struggle experienced by both parents and children, I knew that my role could extend beyond respiratory therapy. With a heart full of empathy and a desire to provide nurturing support, I decided to become a Doula. Combining my medical expertise and innate ability to create peaceful environments, I can now bring comfort and guidance to expecting mothers and their families as they prepare for the transformative journey of childbirth. My unique background as a pediatric/neonatal respiratory therapist allows me to approach each birth experience with a deep understanding of the potential challenges that may arise in the realm of neonatal and pediatric care. I hope my passion for empowering women and families through education, advocacy, and emotional support will ensure that I am an invaluable companion on the path to welcoming new life into the world.

    Postpartum Doula Services
Daytime and Nighttime services. The ideal choice if you need help with postpartum recuperation and restoration. Nurturing services that benefit mom and family. Daytime postpartum services focuses on education, teaching you everything you need to know about newborns and parenthood. My goal is to promote rest, healing, and bonding and provide household support in the form of child care, tidying up, and running quick errands. Overnight services are for those who want to maximize as much sleep as possible in the early days! My job would be to take charge of formula feeding while you rest, help with pump and bottle logistics, or bring baby to you for breast-feeding and then handle the soothing and diapering while you get back to sleep.
