Jazzmine B. | Doula in Des Moines, IA

Jai Olive

    Practice overview

Research shows that birthing people are less likely to need Pitocin, less likely to have a cesarean, less likely to use any pain medication, and more likely to rate the childbirth experience positively.

Doulas provide physical, emotional, and information support to you, your partner, and your support network. Doulas are trained to connect with evidence-based resources and community referrals that support individual and family cultural needs.

Jai Olive is inclusive. I use non-gender-specific language, connect you to culturally responsive providers, and encourage you to use your voice throughout your care. You lead with your intuition and comfort at all times.

Feeling supported and easing the emotional experience of any journey promotes positive outcomes. To know someone is always there, rooting for you, helps you make the most informed decision about your body and family.

Jazzmine is so gifted in the work that she does as a full-spectrum doula. Her warm demeanor helps create a safe environment to ask questions openly. She listens actively to concerns. What I’ve appreciated most about my reproductive health journey with Jazzmine is her ability to be inclusive and intersectional in her approach. She is so understanding of my worries about my body’s abilities, and she always gives encouragement and holistic support. It is evident how passionate she is about working with birthing families (and is there for every step of that journey — from conception to post partum). I am looking forward to continuing working with Jazzmine as I prepare my body for a future pregnancy.

Jazzmine is exceptional at what she does. Her approach is educational and relational. There is so much to learn, remember, and consider while navigating this process. Jazzmine was well informed and able to connect with us, making it easy to digest what she was sharing, empowering us to make decisions we felt comfortable with as a family.
