Practice overview
I have been passionate about pregnancy, birth, labor and delivery since I was a child. I remember my mother was pregnant with my younger brother and I felt such an eagerness to help in any way I could. Fast forward to my last year of my dual degree in Social Work and Sociology, I completed my DONA International Doula training. Now I can assist birthing persons and heir families and truly live my dream of fostering beautiful birthing experiences for all.

June 15, 2023 at 12:58 am | Peer reviewBrittany Ward attended my DONA International Birth Doula workshop at the YWCA in Greensboro, NC, in February 2022. I had the opportunity to teach her the fundamentals of childbirth and how to provide support to families throughout the pregnancy, labor, birth, and early postpartum period.
During our time together in class, Brittany demonstrated a commendable level of attentiveness and a genuine care and concern for the well-being of expectant families. She actively participated in discussions and asked thoughtful questions to ensure she would give families the best care.
Brittany grasped the basics of childbirth and the various techniques and strategies involved in supporting families during the transformative journey of pregnancy, labor, and birth. She showed an understanding of the emotional, physical, and informational needs of expectant parents, and she exhibited a compassionate and empathetic approach to providing care.
Based on our interactions in class, I believe that Brittany will be a dedicated and reliable birth doula. With her attentiveness, caring nature, and willingness to continuously improve her skills, I have no doubt that she will be able to offer valuable support to families during this crucial period of their lives.
