Practice overview
12 amazing pounds, gorgeous and sliding past my fingers. No, not a baby - I'm actually talking about my bowling ball that I bring to play with weekly, and have been doing so for about 7 years. So what the heck does bowling have to do with birth? A lot more than you'd think, actually. See, a lot of people 'just go bowling' the same way they 'just go to the hospital' to birth. Yes, sometimes it works out, but there's so much more you can do if you understand the fundamentals and strategies behind angles, movement and the system you are working within. And that's why my love of bowling is shadowed by my love of birth, and I've dedicated my life and business to helping people learn the best tools and information to have their best births possible. When I fell in love with birth in 2015, I became a Bradley instructor and would often refer to the studies from Evidence Based Birth®, where Rebecca Dekker, a nurse with a Ph.D. brought together the most relevant and current information to the general public in a way that was easy to understand to help parents make the best decisions they could. So when she announced that an Evidence Based Birth class was coming available to parents, I knew I had to be a part of it - especially with the amazing perks that were designed into it: Hybrid classes, so that parents only need to attend 2 classes in person Online trainings based on well-researched studies & current evidence, that parents get access to view on their own timeline during the pregnancy 4 Zoom classes where parents can get support from the comfort of their own homes A philosophy that prepares the partner and incorporates them into the birth And my support for my students and clients doesn't end there. I've also gone to trainings through Gena Kirby for the use of Rebozo in birth - an incredible tool that can create bonding experiences between the birthing parent and the birth partner during pregnancy and can bring comfort and make space for baby in birth. Also, to make sure you have the best opportunity to have your baby in a position that makes birth as comfortable as possible, I have trained in Spinning Babies (which you'll understand the importance of in an Evidence Based Birth class). I also have trained through Birth Arts International, through their Labor Doula Program, to be able to support the parents whom I've built trust with through classes. Aside from Bowling and Birth, I am a mama to two amazing boys and have an amazing husband and support system to allow me to show up for my students and clients. I've lived in the East Valley my whole life apart from my college years at NAU in Flagstaff. I'm a huge fan of the water, good food and playing hard with our extended family and friends. I really look forward to supporting you in your pregnancy and birth! If you have any questions please feel free to ask, email, phone call, or text are all great! I also have a pretty awesome website with a ton of information, plus easy ways to sign up for class and to book a consult.
