I am a mom of one who is passionate about health and wellness. I am a Holistic Practitioner and Creative. I love helping others and creating so I am here to serve humanity mind, body, and spirit through educating, encouraging, and reminding people of their power. My call is to assist women on their journey to live their best lives and vibrate at their highest level. I knew from the age of 12 I would be destined to work with women, but wasn’t sure in what way until I lived a bit longer. I have completed the Journey of Young Women program which is a training in facilitating circle for young women of coming of age. The program was transformational in my own journey as a woman. I felt a greater acceptance and reverence for myself and the earth/Nature. Becoming a supervisor in the USAF and mentoring young Airman brought me to my current path in coaching and doula work. I worked in both food service and fitness while in the service which grew my interest in nutrition and fitness. I enjoyed yoga from the first time I took a class in college and always wanted to develop my own regular practice and decided to train as a yoga teacher in order to meet that goal and share with others the peace it brings me. I wear many hats all in the name of helping others be the best version of themselves loving themselves completely and living authentically.

Care philosophy

Gain continuous mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional support before, during, and shortly after birth to achieve the healthiest and most satisfying experience possible. I'm here to educate, encourage, and remind you of your power so that you make informed decisions about this milestone/ sacred journey.

Quantanique was an amazing support physically and emotionally through out the pregnancy and laboring process. She was knowledgeable in all areas that I had questions regarding my higher risk pregnancy and anything she hadn’t encountered before she worked diligently to research and help find me the best information to establish the best plan of care. I appreciated her insight as well as her support through such a difficult time!

Welcome to Red Raspberry Doula! My name is Henny Isaacson and I have a real love for the work that I do. I started RRD because I am truly passionate about the care that I am privileged to provide to my clients. In addition to my certification as a Doula, I am also a Family Herbalist, Lactation Educator, and Aromatherapist. I am an avid user of holistic remedies which I have studied specifically for women during pregnancy and labor. Additionally, I have a specialty in pain management and have a strong interest in understanding the scientific background of pain relief. I am trained to operate a labor TENS unit in addition to other non-invasive pain reduction strategies. Additionally, I am a certified Young Parent Support Specialist and have training in Prenatal Bodywork. Why is my business called Red Raspberry Doula? Both strong and sweet, raspberries remind me of the traits in me that I always hope to embody in business and in life. Also, the rich color and deep flavor represent, to me, the power and beauty of bringing a new life into the world. And just as red raspberry leaves help deliver a smooth, speedy labor, I too want to ease your birth process with my support. With that I would like to wish you a sincere congratulations on your birth journey and I hope to have the honor to strengthen and sweeten your birth.

Care philosophy

I believe that birth is a divine event. My goal is to provide the women I serve with compassionate, professionally skilled doula care and imbue my clients with confidence in their own amazing abilities. My practice is one that protects and respects more conservative values and offers people of faith, patriots, and families with strong ideals a supportive environment.

Let me start with this point first. I have NO REGRETS in having Henny as my doula and will be having her for ALL my future doula needs 🙂

For reference, I had an all natural birth and delivered at a birthing center. As a first time mom, I was anxious about child birth, even more so with my choice in going all natural. Once Henny arrived at my home, I instantly felt more relieved and was a lot more calmer. She came prepared with everything! She had a list of different methods and things we could try and do to help during labor. From motivational cards, rebozo scarf, hydrating drops to add in your water, TENS unit, to even a lollipop. She has it all!

Henny was very attentive both during and even after my birth. She is so sweet and so kindhearted. Henny is truly there to help and support you however you may need during this precious moment. I can wholeheartedly recommend her as a doula.

I still remember being very nervous when I was pregnant with my first son and a thoughtful friend recommended that I hire a doula. It was one of the best decisions I ever made because her support helped me so much through 23 hours of intense back labor! I am forever grateful to her! After having three more positive birth experiences, I realized that I have a passion for pregnancy and birth and wanted to help other families also have great experiences! As a birth doula, my mission is to provide unwavering emotional, physical, and informational support to families, while also offering spiritual encouragement throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum experiences.

Care philosophy

I understand the sacredness and miracle of life, viewing each birth as a gift from God. My faith serves as a foundation for my care, as I embrace the principles of compassion, grace, and respect. My goal is to bring an extra layer of love and faith to the birthing experience.

Hey there! My name is Brittany Miller. I have been married to my husband for five years and we have a son, Kanon, and two daughters Kaya and Kallie. I was born and raised in Alabama, but I am a Colorado transplant of four years now and we have decided to make this place our forever home. After the birth of my son, I was left with a feeling of dissatisfaction around how my labor and birth actually played out. Soon after finding out I was pregnant with my daughter, I sought out a different model of care for my pregnancy. Within this process, I decided that I wanted to hire a doula as well. I interviewed her early on in my pregnancy, and we instantly clicked. Long story short... I had the absolute best birth experience thanks to an amazing birth team! I was hooked. That oxytocin that fills the room is unparalleled. I needed and wanted to be apart of this amazing group of birth workers who made all the difference to my pregnancy and birth. So here I am, 2 years later, following my heart and embracing my love for women and babies and the beauty of birth.

Care philosophy

I believe in the power to birth your baby the way you feel is the best way. Whether that is unmedicated, medicated, via Cesarean. I support all births and provide evidence-based education so you, as a mother, can make the best decision for you, your baby, and your family.

Candace McCollett

I entered into the childbirth field for two main reasons. First, I wanted to empower women through the natural methods of childbirth. I remember the feelings of strength and control that I encountered when I had my two children at home in the presence of midwives and I wanted to pass this on to other expectant mothers. With my first pregnancy, I was alone and thinking of giving my baby up for adoption. Then one day, along comes the most incredible woman who ended up changing my life. She was a midwife who said she would take me on as a client for the fee of $50 (for supplies) in the hopes that a home birth would convince me to keep the baby. Well, her plan was a success and she has given me a gift I have yet to repay. Now I have a twenty-two-year-old daughter, a seventeen-year-old son, an eight-year-old daughter and the most wonderful husband in the world. My second reason for getting into the birthing field was because I want to eradicate the general public’s misconceptions about pregnancy and the birthing process. A woman’s pregnant uterus should not be treated as a tumorous growth to be controlled by medicine, but rather a natural event that women have been participating for many years before doctors. In most cases, birth can be accomplished safely and satisfactorily without intervention, such as drugs and surgery. The need for patience must be practiced in the presence of a laboring woman.

Care philosophy

I believe that each labor and birth is a unique and miraculous experience. I also believe that there is more than one good way to have a baby and that parents should have the proper tools available for effective informed consent and informed refusal.

I have had three home births with Candace and she is absolutely amazing! All of my experiences were different, but my most recent delivery was more unexpected. I was able to deliver a very large 9.5 lb posterior baby at home with Candace’s quick action and guidance. I am certain if not for her and my midwife, I would have had a c-section. She has so much experience, that I felt completely comfortable during the whole process. Throughout the prenatal appointments, she never judged or was pushy- just very down to earth and friendly. When offering testing, she always explained risk/benefit and alternatives without bias towards her opinion or judgement. She’s very empathetic and you can tell she loves what she does. There’s so much more I could say, but I’m eternally grateful for Candace for all three of my births. I will not have a birth without her by my side. She is a gift to moms.

I come from a medical background, working as an RN with postpartum moms and babes in the hospital and in an OBGYN clinic. I have completed the birth doula training through DONA, but am still working on the final certification. I also provide postpartum "help" at home.

Care philosophy

My mission is to ensure that families are getting the experience that they desire when they have their baby, whatever that looks like for them. My goal is to hold space for mothers and families during birth and the postpartum period. To be a grounding presence. To remind you of your power and your strength. And also to remind you of your softness and your ability to nurture.

Doula Services: FAQs

A doula is a professional that provides emotional, physical and educational support to new parents before, during, and after childbirth and into the early postpartum period. Doulas are companions who strive to give families a safe, positive, and healthy labor experience. They provide parents with evidence-based information and education on childbirth and are someone who the parent can turn to with questions and concerns about having a baby. Doulas also take an active role in collaborating with the parent to create a birth plan.

A certified birth doula offers advice and techniques to help reduce the stress that the parent often experiences during childbirth and provides you with education about different aspects of delivery and labor and what comes after.

There are two ways you can hire a doula through Meela in Pueblo, CO.

The average cost of a doula in Pueblo, CO is lower than the average cost of a doula in the state of Colorado, which is $911.

To put this in further context, the cost of a doula in Pueblo, CO is $970 the U.S. national average cost of a doula, which is $971.

When hiring a birth doula in Pueblo, CO, you and your doula will discuss and agree upon a fee structure, and your doula will send you itemized invoices through Meela, which you can pay securely through the app.

Some insurance companies will cover all or part of the cost of hiring a doula. Contact your insurance company to find out if they offer any coverage for hiring a doula; not all insurance companies do.

You can hire two types of doulas in Pueblo, CO: a birth doula and a postpartum doula. The birth doula is during your pregnancy and through the birth of your child. They provide you with emotional, physical and educational support during your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and for the first few hours after your child is born.

A postpartum doula will support you for the first few weeks after the baby is born. They provide in-home assistance, including teaching you how to take care of your newborn, acting as lactation consultant, and can provide some night nanny services.

Yes, a birth doula can provide support during a Cesarean birth and delivery. Doulas are non-medical professionals and do not replace obstetricians, physicians, midwives or nurses. They are an additive member to the team and provide emotional, physical and informational support to the birthing parent, partner and family. It is up to you whether the certified doula can remain in the operating room during the procedure.

When you hire a doula in Pueblo, CO, your services typically include several in-person prenatal sessions, 24/7 phone and text support, full attendance throughout your labor, and several hours of support immediately following your birth.

A doula in Pueblo, CO can help you in any kind of birth. Certified doulas are able to assist parents in creating the ideal “birth environment” and help parents deliver their baby safely. A doula can provide support during the birth whether it occurs in a hospital, a home, or another birth center of some kind. Doulas are there to support you in your desired birth preferences, whether that is a preference for natural, non-medicated, assisted, C-section or anything else.

Certified doulas can also act as a liaison between you and hospital staff regarding your childbirth expectations and preferences. For example, if your preference is to have a non-medicated birth, a doula can help guide you through that process and create a personalized birth plan. A certified doula in Pueblo, CO does not replace medical staff (such as your obstetrician and nurses).

When a surgical procedure is required, there are some situations in which a birth doula can also remain in the operating room, although this is not an expected obligation. A certified birth doula can also assist hospital staff to improve the overall birthing experience. A doula in Pueblo, CO will typically stay with the parents for several hours after birth to help them with birth recovery.

Evidence suggests that a birth doula in Pueblo, CO can help improve parent satisfaction with their baby’s birth and delivery. The involvement of a doula can also lead to shorter deliveries with less complications.

Recent studies show that parents who have a support person like a doula by their side throughout labor and childbirth are more likely to:

  1. Give birth without the need for pain medicine
  2. Describe their birth experience in a positive way
  3. Give birth without the need for medical intervention, such as C-sections or vacuum delivery
  4. Experience a shorter labor

You can hire a doula early in your pregnancy to allow you time to get to know each other and to begin planning for your later trimesters, labor, birth, and aftercare. It is ideal to hire a doula when you are around 20 weeks along, but you can start looking for one before that.

It is never too late to hire a doula in Pueblo, CO; you have right up to your due date to find a doula near you and receive all the benefits of doula support.

While many people think that a doula and a midwife are the same thing, their educational background and job duties are different. Doulas are non-medical professionals who provide emotional, physical and educational support, while also offering actionable advice and guidance to new parents about how to nurture their baby.

A midwife is a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) or a certified midwife (CM). CNMs are medical professionals that are certified and licensed by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. CMs are also certified, but they do not have nursing backgrounds.

Doulas are not medical professionals; they focus on the emotional support for the parents and the family before, during, and after the birth of the baby. Their job is to provide information, advice, and support to the family not diagnose any medical conditions or provide medical advice.
