I offer Prenatal/Postpartum personal training sessions virtually (nationwide) or in-person in the Nashville area. During sessions we’ll use strength & interval training to prevent & manage pains, manage necessary weight gain, and prepare for physical & mental requirements of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and recovery. I also offer birth doula services where I provide comfort, support, and familiarity during labor & delivery. I lend knowledge of birth and various birthing policies to parents who are exploring their childbirth options, enabling them to make more informed decisions that are right for their family. Together, we’ll create a birth plan, and I’ll provide comfort measures, holding space for the birthing person’s emotions and advocating for the birthing family.

Care philosophy

With clinical knowledge of biomechanics and physiology, I train clients to thrive during their perinatal journey. As a dancer & intuitive coach, I help women connect with their body’s divine wisdom and use workouts to help prepare physically, mentally, spiritually for birth. My programs train clients to prevent & manage pain, gain appropriate weight, and prepare for the requirements of motherhood.

Kristen is amazing! I highly recommend Kristen to be part of your pregnancy / birth journey and support team!
I met Kristen when I was pregnant with my first son and she helped me focus on training my body and preparing for the birth of my 9 pound 13 oz baby (who ended up coming via C Section) but focusing on breathing and strengthening the parts of my body that I would have needed during birth was extremely helpful as I prepared to welcome my little guy.
I continued to train with Kristen as I prepared for my second son and preparing my body for things I knew I’d need to be strong post partum (such as standing up from the ground from play with a toddler while holding an infant!).
Kristen was also my doula and supported me in the hospital after the delivery of my second son – which can be a stressful and chaotic time as you sleeplessly recover from birth and get to know your baby. I knew I needed a calm and knowledgeable presence to support me during this time and I could not feel luckier that she was there supporting us during this time. You will be in good hands and very well cared for working with Kristen!

When I first considered becoming a doula I was going through infertility and the idea of supporting women and families through pregnancy and birth was downright painful. I tried other avenues but God had bigger and better plans. I have a super diverse background in health and wellness coaching, behavioral health, substance abuse, and juvenile justice. I absolutely love what each of these avenues have taught me and when I finally started me training in birthwork everything clicked and fell into place. I am so passionate about helping women and families during “the childbearing year” getting pregnancy isn’t always easy, being pregnant isn’t for the faint of heart, and bringing a new baby home? Phew. It’s a lot sometimes. These are transformative seasons that have the potential to have a generational impact. Walking alongside someone to support, encourage, educate and advocate is the most honorable thing I could imagine!

Care philosophy

To promote perinatal wellness by providing support, encouragement, and education. Helping women and whole families by offering fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum services so that families can grow and thrive for generations

My name is Lauren Glass and I am a labor and birth doula. I grew up outside of St. Louis, Missouri, but I am proud to call Nashville, Tennessee home after living here for over 10 years. I have always been interested in childbirth and helping people. It took me some time to figure out that I could combine those two passions into a career, but once I did I dove in head first. I completed my doula training and certification through Harbor Birth Institute in Franklin, Tennessee. I provide two prenatal meetings to discuss your preferences and goals, help you make decisions and give you tips and tricks for labor prep. I provide continual labor support from when you request it until after your baby is born. I will help you with breastfeeding in the first hours. We also have a postpartum visit to catch up, answer any questions you may have, and debrief your birth if you'd like. I am a Christian and enjoy incorporating faith-based concepts into my practice if it is something my clients desire and align with. When I am not helping mommas, I love to spend time with my friends and family, including my two nieces and three nephews. I love to read, garden, do yoga, get outside and move, and look for more house plants to add to my growing collection.

Care philosophy

I am passionate about empowering women to enter their labor and birth confidently, which leads to confidence in parenthood as well. I believe in informed consent and evidence based birth practices. But most of all, I believe women deserve to be supported throughout their pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum.

Tiny Feet and Heartbeats Birth and Baby offer birth and postpartum doula services, lactation consultations, and childbirth/parenting classes. It is my belief that education, confidence, and support all play key roles in assisting a woman and her family to have the best birth outcomes. My own experiences giving birth to my seven children have included hospital births and four natural births. The arrivals of my little ones help me to even better empathize with laboring moms and provide encouragement and perspective. As a doula, I work in collaboration with your partner and clinical staff to assist in the delivery of one of the greatest gifts of your life. I can’t wait to join your birthing team.

Doula Services: FAQs

A doula is a professional that provides emotional, physical and educational support to new parents before, during, and after childbirth and into the early postpartum period. Doulas are companions who strive to give families a safe, positive, and healthy labor experience. They provide parents with evidence-based information and education on childbirth and are someone who the parent can turn to with questions and concerns about having a baby. Doulas also take an active role in collaborating with the parent to create a birth plan.

A certified birth doula offers advice and techniques to help reduce the stress that the parent often experiences during childbirth and provides you with education about different aspects of delivery and labor and what comes after.

There are two ways you can hire a doula through Meela in Murfreesboro, TN.

The cost of a doula in Murfreesboro, TN can range from $672 to $1,143. These costs are based on a representative group of 73 doulas surveyed by Meela across the state of Tennessee. The average cost of a doula in Tennessee is lower than the U.S. national average cost of a doula, which is $971.

When hiring a birth doula in Murfreesboro, TN, you and your doula will discuss and agree upon a fee structure, and your doula will send you itemized invoices through Meela, which you can pay securely through the app.

Some insurance companies will cover all or part of the cost of hiring a doula. Contact your insurance company to find out if they offer any coverage for hiring a doula; not all insurance companies do.

You can hire two types of doulas in Murfreesboro, TN: a birth doula and a postpartum doula. The birth doula is during your pregnancy and through the birth of your child. They provide you with emotional, physical and educational support during your pregnancy, your labor and delivery and for the first few hours after your child is born.

A postpartum doula will support you for the first few weeks after the baby is born. They provide in-home assistance, including teaching you how to take care of your newborn, acting as lactation consultant, and can provide some night nanny services.

Yes, a birth doula can provide support during a Cesarean birth and delivery. Doulas are non-medical professionals and do not replace obstetricians, physicians, midwives or nurses. They are an additive member to the team and provide emotional, physical and informational support to the birthing parent, partner and family. It is up to you whether the certified doula can remain in the operating room during the procedure.

When you hire a doula in Murfreesboro, TN, your services typically include several in-person prenatal sessions, 24/7 phone and text support, full attendance throughout your labor, and several hours of support immediately following your birth.

A doula in Murfreesboro, TN can help you in any kind of birth. Certified doulas are able to assist parents in creating the ideal “birth environment” and help parents deliver their baby safely. A doula can provide support during the birth whether it occurs in a hospital, a home, or another birth center of some kind. Doulas are there to support you in your desired birth preferences, whether that is a preference for natural, non-medicated, assisted, C-section or anything else.

Certified doulas can also act as a liaison between you and hospital staff regarding your childbirth expectations and preferences. For example, if your preference is to have a non-medicated birth, a doula can help guide you through that process and create a personalized birth plan. A certified doula in Murfreesboro, TN does not replace medical staff (such as your obstetrician and nurses).

When a surgical procedure is required, there are some situations in which a birth doula can also remain in the operating room, although this is not an expected obligation. A certified birth doula can also assist hospital staff to improve the overall birthing experience. A doula in Murfreesboro, TN will typically stay with the parents for several hours after birth to help them with birth recovery.

Evidence suggests that a birth doula in Murfreesboro, TN can help improve parent satisfaction with their baby’s birth and delivery. The involvement of a doula can also lead to shorter deliveries with less complications.

Recent studies show that parents who have a support person like a doula by their side throughout labor and childbirth are more likely to:

  1. Give birth without the need for pain medicine
  2. Describe their birth experience in a positive way
  3. Give birth without the need for medical intervention, such as C-sections or vacuum delivery
  4. Experience a shorter labor

You can hire a doula early in your pregnancy to allow you time to get to know each other and to begin planning for your later trimesters, labor, birth, and aftercare. It is ideal to hire a doula when you are around 20 weeks along, but you can start looking for one before that.

It is never too late to hire a doula in Murfreesboro, TN; you have right up to your due date to find a doula near you and receive all the benefits of doula support.

While many people think that a doula and a midwife are the same thing, their educational background and job duties are different. Doulas are non-medical professionals who provide emotional, physical and educational support, while also offering actionable advice and guidance to new parents about how to nurture their baby.

A midwife is a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) or a certified midwife (CM). CNMs are medical professionals that are certified and licensed by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. CMs are also certified, but they do not have nursing backgrounds.

Doulas are not medical professionals; they focus on the emotional support for the parents and the family before, during, and after the birth of the baby. Their job is to provide information, advice, and support to the family not diagnose any medical conditions or provide medical advice.
