My passion for birth work began after the somewhat traumatic birth of my oldest in 2010. I left that birth with what I had believed to be empowerment but soon after, realized the empowerment I felt was based off of my consistently advocating for and defending myself in the birth space. I realized we shouldn't HAVE to fight for how we want to birth in order to feel a false sense of empowerment. Once I had this epiphany, I felt in my heart of hearts that I never wanted another birthing person to have to jump through hurdles to have the birth they desire. Now, I support all birthing people and their families through this journey called birth and I ABSOLUTELY respect and honor the process and the family. I finally went on to have two more completely healing water births and actually base the healing on becoming informed after my first birth. The well known quote "Choose a job you love and you will never work a day in your life," is my mantra. I love what I do, I love the people I meet, and I am humbled and honored to witness families being born or growing. In 2010, after the birth of my oldest daughter, I signed up with DONA as a birth doula. Since then, I have constantly immersed myself in all things pregnancy and birth. Once I moved to North Carolina, I decided that I needed a more inclusive and comprehensive training and decided to train through Bebo Mia, a Canadian based doula training agency. Through them, I grew as a person and as a doula and truly feel as though I am able to provide COMPLETELY unbiased and evidence based care and research to each and every person and family I meet. At the same time, I trained and certified as a placenta specialist through IPPA, International Placenta and Postpartum Association. Recently, I became certified as a stillbirthday birth and bereavement doula offering bereavement services and support to those who experience a loss in any trimester of their pregnancy. Lastly (but not least), I am a trained Hypnobabies® Hypno-Doula supporting families who choose hypnosis for childbirth.

February 19, 2021 at 6:47 pm | Client reviewStaci is a wonderful support system for pregnancy and delivery. She was always available during my pregnancy and when I went into labor, she provided the calm strength needed for not only me, but for my husband and mother, as well. I ended up requesting her almost immediately and Staci stayed with us through the entire labor. Her presence was soothing and her knowledge was extremely valuable. I have no doubt in my mind that if we had not had Staci supporting us, we may have had a different birthing outcome. I highly recommend her!

April 5, 2021 at 2:29 pm | Client reviewI hired Staci as my birth doula because I was looking for a support person who was experienced in pregnancy and childbirth. I wanted a resource for when questions came up, I’d be able to reach out and have answers. I also wanted support during labor and birth where she would know what to do or why things needed to be done. Staci well exceeded everything I was hoping for and all future babies I have will be with Staci as my support. I appreciate her so very much.

April 5, 2021 at 2:52 pm | Client reviewWith Covid visitor restrictions, I knew my husband and I needed additional support for our birth. Due to Staci being a verified doula through our local hospital system, she was able to attend in person. It was an amazing experience. She not only supported me, she supported my husband in the ways he needed. Her presence helped me to have a calm and successful VBAC. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for support!
