Birth and Beyond Doula Services

    Practice overview

My own personal first childbirth experience was full of trauma and abuse of power, I wasn't listened to or heard. I was scared after feeling prepared and confident going into labor. After my second birth, I realized what a difference it made having safe, reassuring and experienced support on my side. It made such an amazing difference and fueled my passion for supporting birthing people. Everyone deserves support, and to be seen and heard and respected during childbirth. It is an innate human right that no one has the power to take away from you.
I chose DTI (Doula Trainings International) as my doula certifying body because their programs is one of the most comprehensive and inclusive trainings. I am a birth nerd and daily my goal is to learn at least two new things about birth, pregnancy, birth support, reproductive justice and anything related in order to best be able to serve my clients.
My philosophy surrounding pregnancy, birth and beyond is that every person and family is unique, comes from different backgrounds, different cultures and should be able to make the decisions that suit them best based on their needs without judgment from others. Your vision becomes my vision while I am supporting you and I will do everything in my power to help facilitate that for you along the way. Mental health and nutrition support are two things I am passionate about during the postpartum period, and I love helping new parents navigate their new life with baby.

Sara Halley was very informative as well as supportive of my wants and wishes. She was always very attentive in making me feel heard when it came to some concerns. I appreciated the check ins she did just making sure I was doing well or if I needed any further assistance or information. This was our first time using a doula and I’d highly recommend it to any and all expecting moms. It’s great to have someone help advocate for you and inform you as an uncertain parent about some things that may be nerve-wracking to ask about. We will definitely be using Sara as a doula with our next pregnancy. She gave us peace of mind, that our bodies know just what to do when the time is right and made everything so calming and very empowering as a woman what our bodies can do!
